Yesterday, we gave you our first look at the LEGO DFB Die Mannschaft (71014) through a photo that was shared via Promobricks. Dubbed as the ‘smallest press conference in the world’, LEGO finally unveiled the newest set of collectible minifigures that fans of Fussball will be raring to have. It took me a while to figure out why it was called the ‘smallest press conference on the planet’ until I saw LEGO’s official ‘coverage’ below.

Though the video is in German, it is clear how LEGO built up the excitement until the players of the German National Team came up to the stage, officially announcing the line up in this CMF series.

The minifig players included in this set are:

  • Joachim Löw (Trainer)
  • Manuel Neuer (#1, goalie)
  • Jérôme Boateng (#17)
  • Mats Hummels (#5)
  • Benedikt Höwedes (#4)
  • Shkodran Mustafi (#2)
  • Bastian Schweinsteiger (#7)
  • Mesut Özil (#3)
  • Thomas Müller (#13)
  • Toni Kroos (#18)
  • Sami Khedira (#6)
  • André Schürrle (#9)
  • Marco Reus (#21)
  • Christoph Kramer (#20)
  • Mario Götze (#19)
  • Max Kruse (#23)

I guess Eurobrick’s Robert8 was pretty close in his prediction yesterday, landing 11 correct guesses out of the 16 minifigs included in this set. It was also officially confirmed that this CMF will be available only in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland starting May 14 and will retail at 2.99 Euros or more than 3 US dollars each. CMF collectors in the US or in any part of the world would probably need to head over to eBay if they wish to add these to their collection. Given the kinds of elements that were used to them, and considering that physically it is only the headpiece that is varied, it will be seriously difficult to feel your way on their packaging. It is only coach Joachim Löw’s minifig that has a unique identifier due to the clipboard element that is added to it.

In case you can’t wait to see how these minifigures look like, our brick-loving pal over at zusammengebaut.com was able to get his hands on five of these blind bags ahead of its release a month from now. He was kind enough to post how the bag itself looks like, including the minifig checklist, and cool ‘unboxing’ video that shows the contents of each bag.
