A while ago, we mentioned that the LEGO Store Calendar for the month of June is already up, jam packed with exclusive in store promos and exclusives. One particular plug that caught our attention is one that will happen sometime soon at LEGOLAND Resorts and Discovery Centers. Following the success of the LEGO Nexo Knights theme when it made its debut last January, LEGO now extends the hi-tech medieval adventures of Knighton into the real world with its announcement of a brand new 4D movie exclusive.
Inside the Magic reports that LEGOLAND Florida will launch the all-new “LEGO Nexo Knights 4D: The Book of Creativity”, which will open on May 26, 2016. Visitors to LEGOLAND Florida will be able to fully immerse in a 12 minute movie which will bring the brick busting action off the screen and into the crowd. On top of that, gamers who are hooked into playing the LEGO Nexo Knights Merlok 2.0 mobile app game, will be absolutely thrilled to know that LEGOLAND offers six scannable NEXO Powers not found anywhere else. NEW! “LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS 4D: The Book of Creativity” – opening May 26, 2016
Set in the futuristic Kingdom of Knighton, this all-new theatrical attraction pits five young knights against the evil Jestro and his sidekick, the Book of Monsters, in a battle for control of a rare book of magic that gives its owner tremendous power. Based on the new LEGO series of building sets and the just-launched TV show, the 12½-minute, immersive experience combines 3D computer animation with “4D,” real-world effects that bring the high-tech action bursting off the screen and into the audience.
Elsewhere in the theme park, kids will discover six exclusive shields that unlock unique NEXO Powers within the LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS: Merlok 2.0 mobile app for iOS and Android devices.
With more than 170 shields that can be found across various touchpoints including online, on LEGO sets and by watching the TV series; these shields can be scanned onto the Merlok 2.0 app, upgrading players’ powers to help the Knights fight marauding monsters. Other than the LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS 4D: The Book of Creativity, LEGOLAND Florida will also offer its Beach Retreat and LEGO Ninjago World both slated to open in 2017, along with its new Build-A-Boat and Night Lights experience.
