A Look at the LEGO Architecture Skylines Las Vegas (21038).

Last month, we saw the reveal of the LEGO Architecture Skylines Shanghai (21039) set which is also expected to be one of the many sets to be released online and in-store beginning January 1. This is the seventh set in the Skylines subtheme that intends to feature some of the world’s most modern buildings and locations in one neat, minibuild collectible. Originally, the Shanghai (21039) set is slated to be released together with another Skylines set, but sadly, due to the unfortunate incident involving one of the hotels in the Las Vegas area, the LEGO Group has decided to either postpone or cancel the release of the LEGO Architecture Skylines Las Vegas (21038), as noted by Brick set.

As it turns out, it looks like we have to wait a bit longer before we can see this set released. But thanks to some tips from several LEGO fan forums, we get to see a glimpse of how the Las Vegas (21038) set will look like. Our friends pointed us to an Italian online store, EPrice, which posted a box art image of the LEGO Architecture Skylines Las Vegas (21038) as you can see below. Set 21038 is expected to have a total of 487 pieces and will retail for 39.99 Euros.

I know some of you will probably think that the brick police will soon catch up with this post and request this to be deleted. Just to be clear, this image was posted on a legitimate e-commerce website such as EPrice, and it is still up as of this writing. But then again, we’ll quickly comply if there is a takedown order for this one.

As you can see from the image above, the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) set is composed of several well-known buildings and landmarks in Las Vegas, including the Freemont Street Experience, Stratosphere Tower, Luxor Hotel, Encore Hotel, and Mandalay Bay Hotel. The relative scaling of these minibuilds are spot on, with the Luxor Hotel cleverly recreated using some Egyptian minifigure accessories.

Again, we do not have an exact release date yet, if ever this set will still be released. There are talks of it being postponed until April so we just have to wait and see by then. Furthermore, the Skylines subtheme is often released in sets of three so we may somehow expect another similar set to be announced later on. If you’re into LEGO Architecture and would love to collect these Skylines sets, be sure to keep tabs with us as we post these latest developments as soon as they are available.

    1. Not yet, presumably because of the incident involving Mandalay Hotel. We’re not sure as of now if the Las Vegas set is entirely scrapped or it will be released at a later date. Some online stores in Europe listed it to be available sometime in April or May so I guess it will be released eventually. We just have to wait and see.
