Earlier last year, we reported on a rumor via Eurobricks that the next LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series, Series 18 in particular, will be celebrating the 40th Year Anniversary of the LEGO minifigure. What better way to celebrate it is to have a costume-themed party! Everything has been speculations regarding the actual figures that will be included – until now.
Just recently, Brick Show has obtained information about how the LEGO CMF Series 18 will be like, and as it seems, early rumors and predictions were correct. According to our sources, Series 18 consists of a blind bag that clearly shows LEGO’s 40th Minifigure Anniversary. Furthermore, the bag itself has a party theme vibe, and since this is a celebration of the iconic minifig’s anniversary, what is interesting is the reported inclusion of LEGO’s 40th Minifigure Anniversary logo. As mentioned in previous reports, Series 18 is expected to have a total of 17 minifigures and the blind bag highlights 9 of the characters included in the series. What we heard so far ties up with was discussed in fan forums so far. Here’s what we know based on our sources.
- Blue Brick Costume Girl
- Red Brick Costume Guy
- Cactus Girl
- Spider Monster Costume Guy
- Rocket Guy
- Classic Sailor (minifigure head is based on the classic, generic LEGO minifigures)
- Cowboy Costume Guy
- Party Girl With Balloon
- Party Host/Cake Guy
Obviously, there are still other minifigure characters that were not included in the said blind bag packaging, and since this is a minifigure costume party, we can surely expect a lot of costume donned minifigs. Some candidates are animals and additional food costumes to liven up the anniversary party.
Overall, this looks like to be an exciting CMF Series with plenty of costumes to go around. Again, these are reports from our sources and should be best treated as rumors and taken with a pinch of salt. Nevertheless, the prospect of seeing a costume party-themed CMF is a nice one.
So what do you think brick fans, can you imagine how these Series 18 minifigs will look like? Which one do you think will be your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
