Speculation has been rife across LEGO fan forums that LEGO has something big in store as far as LEGO Ninjago Movie is concerned. There were earlier talks about another LEGO Ninjago Movie set that is said to complement its gigantic LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620) set released last year. Now it seems that the rumors have been finally put to rest when LEGO finally confirmed its latest LEGO Ninjago Movie set as announced at the on-going Nuremberg Toy Fair.
Zusammengebaut is on the show floor of the celebrated German toy fair, and he reports that LEGO has announced set 70657 as a sort of a docking port that will connect to the 70620 using an array of Technic pins, similar to how we see them used in modular sets. Though LEGO has been intentionally strict on showing images at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, they were generous enough to give visitors an idea on how it will look like. Rumored to be labelled as the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657), the set is described as a separate build that can be connected at Ninjago City’s back side, having a generally flat feature similar to how it was depicted in the film.
Given the sheer size of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620) set, adding 70657 will definitely make it one huge spectacle of a set. Furthermore, having a modular-type feature perfectly allows a more varied range of play experience when the two sets are combined. Needless to say, I am very excited to see how this will turn out. LEGO has not revealed the LEGO Ninjago City Docks’ pricing, but it is rumored to be at $299.99 making it at par with the LEGO Ninjago City set in terms of number of pieces and size.
