Last January, we mentioned that a rumored LEGO and Warner Bros Interactive collaboration is now on the works featuring the infamous villainous characters of the DC universe. Aptly titled, LEGO DC Villains, the said rumored project will put into the spotlight the characters of Joker and the rest of his mean posse and will feature a host of DC baddies in one video game package.
Now a few minutes ago, Walmart Canda’s online portal may have ‘unofficially confirmed’ this rumored LEGO video game when it seems to have accidentally listed the LEGO DC Villains video game for pre-order. Walmart was quick on the embargo trigger when it quickly removed the listing, but not without an eagle eyed LEGO fan forum member taking a screenshot.
Such unintentional reveal somehow proves that the said video game is actually out there, and so is the possibility of its rumored freebie which is the LEGO DC Superheroes Lex Luthor Superman Suit minifigure. This free, bundled minifigure has been spotted on eBay since March, together with the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz minifig coming from the same seller. This particular version of Lex Luthor is based on DC Comics’ Rebirth where he is seen wearing a Superman-styled armor.
As of to date, no other retailer has posted the LEGO DC Villains video game, perhaps not until this year’s E3 and San Diego Comic Con hits the floor from June 12-14 and July 19-22 respectively. We’ll find out if LEGO and WB Games will make the announcement by then.
