This LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-Build Make and Take Event is Happening in China

It looks like LEGO fans in China will get a lot of LEGO love this month. After yesterday’s reveal of the LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269), it looks like this set will have a LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build version that will be given away as a make and take promotional across Chinese  LEGO stores.

LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-build

Thanks to a tip from StoneWars, we learned that this make-and-take promotional build was announced via the Chinese social media platform WeChat. To make the deal more enticing, it was also revealed that only 3,000 copies of this LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build will be released for those who will be getting its larger LEGO Creator Expert counterpart. LEGO fans who will purchase the LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269) set will receive a coupon that will entitle them to participate for the make-and-take building event.

The announcement for the LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build Make-and-Take event released in Chinese social media.

Additionally, LEGO fans in China will also have the opportunity to meet and greet Mike Psiaki – the LEGO Designer behind this awesome big bike rendition. In case you’re in the area and are planning to get this set together will all its perks, then be sure to drop by at any of these LEGO Stores in China during the following dates:

  • July 17: LEGO Brand Retail, Shanghai People’s Square
  • July 20: LEGO Brand Retail, Shanghai Disneytown
  • July 21: LEGO Brand Retail, Beijing Wangfujin

I have to say that this mini-build version is spot on, with its orange and white background and stand. Though I strongly feel that the Harley-Davidson logo is rendered as a sticker, it is still an excellent display model nonetheless. I just hope that this promo will find its way to other regional LEGO stores worldwide for everyone to enjoy.

The LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269) is slated for a LEGO VIP release on July 17, and for the general public on August 1. It comes in at 1,023 pieces, retailing for $99.99 USD.

July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar Highlights and Promotions

LEGO is pushing through with its plans of going entirely digital now that the July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar has been released online. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what’s in store for LEGO fans next month.

LEGO Store Calendar

LEGO Store Calendar

July 1-31: Weekly Building Challenges

Starting every Monday of July, your local LEGO store will feature space-themed building challenges where participants may have their brick creations put on display. I’m not quite sure if registration is required but I guess the calendar implies that walk-ins are also accepted.

July 12-14: It’s Christmas in July!
The exclusive, gift-with-purchase set Christmas Gift Box (40292) from last year, 2018.

This is quite interesting since this promo is available only on weekends, and the calendar did not exactly specify what could be the exclusive offer. However, since this portion of this advert mentions that the offer is valid until supplies last, I am assuming that the set to be given away is the limited edition 2018 holiday gift-with-purchase set, Christmas Gift Box (40292).  This is a gorgeous set filled with hidden surprises, so if you missed out on this one, be sure to drop by your local LEGO Store during this 3-day promo event.

July 10-17: Monthly Mini Build – Fun Frog (40326)
Fun Frog Mini Build (40326)

To reserve a spot, visit your local LEGO® Store starting July 5. This requires getting a bit of being used to since LEGO has dropped the online registration mechanics in favor of an in-store one. What also seems to be puzzling is that the Mini Builds page of LEGO Shop@Home specifically states that the MMB program has been discontinued since April of this year, with only the building instructions published on their page. Personally, I like the idea of having Monthly Mini Builds since a lot of kids (and adults as well) get to bring home free LEGO. We just have to wait and see where these changes will lead us.

July 18-21: Free LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) Polybag

For the entire third week of July, LEGO Stores will be running a promotional that fans will find enticing. The LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) polybag can be yours for free for a minimum single receipt purchase of LEGO products worth $40 USD and above, or while supplies last.

As you can see from this LEGO Store Calendar, the month of July also marks the release of some of the highly anticipated LEGO sets such as the LEGO Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage (75936) and the latest wave of LEGO Harry Potter 2019 sets.  Be sure to drop by at the LEGO brand store nearest you for more details about these promos.

LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers Rumored to be the Next LEGO Promotional Set

To celebrate the launch of the LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) a few weeks ago, LEGO also threw in a sweet Make and Take Event at it’s Flatiron (NY) and Leicester (London) LEGO Stores. Needless to say, the LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers was a hit to LEGO and Netflix fans where in-store patrons get to build this iconic fort in the woods and bring them home at the same. Eventually, building instructions were released online showing how to recreate this 48-piece set less the two exclusive stickers of course.  Of course, if we will have our way, it will be nice to have this Make and Take promotional be available across all LEGO brand stores in the country. And thanks to a report by The Brick Fan, it might be the case

Castle Byers take away build from LEGO Stranger Things event. More photos and instructions at Imgur link. from lego

It was rumored that after the initial debut of both the Upside Down (75810) and the LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers, the latter will eventually be introduced as the next Make and Take promotional across LEGO Stores in the US. LEGO Stores are somehow mum about this, but according to The Brick Fan, registration for this event may actually start tomorrow, June 10. That’s good news especially if you’re a devoted LEGO collector. I know this set is relatively easy to make with all its parts readily available in your modest LEGO collection. However, if you’re a LEGO completionist and wishes to have the exclusive Castle Byers stickers that go with it, then be sure to check out with your local LEGO store to confirm this Make and Take promotional.

The LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) is currently available at LEGO Shop@Home retailing for $199.99 USD. Coming in at 2,287 pieces with eight (8) instantly recognizable Stranger Things minifigures: Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper, and the Demogorgon.

LEGO Store Calendars Will Only Be In Digital Versions Starting This July

If you’ve noticed, I haven’t covered much LEGO Store-related news lately, particularly with regards to their monthly LEGO Store Calendars – the last one that I covered being the December 2018 Calendar. My primary source of information back then was at cache.LEGO.com which is somehow available to the public a few months ago. Now that LEGO has virtually removed advanced access to their monthly store calendars (save for the current month that is now available for download), the only means that we can know what is happening in LEGO Stores in advance is if you pay a visit at your local LEGO store and requesting for a physical copy. Now that may even change as well.

LEGO VIP members were recently greeted with an email from LEGO Customer Service saying that beginning July, LEGO Store Calendars will now go paperless. That being the case, those who are fond of collecting their physical copies of these monthly calendars may hold on tight to their collection. I know that LEGO means well with this move, considering their advocacy on environmental sustainability. I just wish that they will bring back early access to monthly LEGO Store Calendars as they used to so fans can have a glimpse of the events and happenings that are really important for them.

I’m also a bit apprehensive on the effects of this move on the promotions of LEGO’s in-store activities because there are still some LEGO fans that primarily get their info on the physical LEGO Store Calendars that are handed out to them by store staff and employees. Unless local LEGO Stores actively campaign and promote the paperless format of their in-store calendars, then LEGO fans and visitors may possibly miss out on the really important stuff.

One way to possibly go around this is to set up an information kiosk in every store. Instead of being handed out a physical copy, store visitors can browse a digital version of the store calendar right there and then. It will be nice to see an interactive digital board where all the in-store happenings are scheduled. Perhaps with a possible integration to your calendar app of choice so you can seamlessly add these events in your own personal calendar. Well, these are just my two cents about this but I have to say that it will be rather cool to see a digital calendar such as that.

So what do you think about this decision of going paperless as far as LEGO Store Calendars are concerned? Do you prefer to have it this way, or do you still go for the feel of having an actual, hard copy? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Be Sure To Grab This Free LEGO Star Wars Mini Tantive IV Make and Take Set This May

Just over the past weekend, we were treated to some great LEGO Star Wars-related news with the announcement of the rehashed LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244). This New Hope inspired set is slated to land in LEGO Stores and online in time for May the 4th promotions – the unofficial but popular Star Wars Day fan commemorative celebration. And to make this day even more festive for fans, LEGO has announced that it will be giving away a free Mini Tantive IV set for the LEGO Star Wars faithful.

Tantive Make and Take Event

May 3-6: Come in to your local LEGO Store to build your very own Tantive model then take it home, for free! Registration is on a first come, first served basis and quantities are limited. Registration begins April 15 in stores only. The building event is intended for ages 6+ at store discretion.

LEGO Stores in the US will soon be joining in the May the 4th festivities by hosting its popular Make & Take Event. Beginning this Monday, April 15, registration has begun for builders aged 6 and up at all participating LEGO Stores. The registrants will then come back on their scheduled dates from May 3 to 6 to try their hands on this build. Similar to other LEGO Make and Take in-store promotional, participation in this event does not require any purchases.

Registered participating builders will be given the LEGO pieces needed to assemble the Mini Tantive IV set. And though it may be a far cry from the new, 2-feet long LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244) set, this mini model is definitely cool to have around on your desk or just a testament to our all out, galactic geekiness. Like other Make and Take sets, expect that the building instructions for this mini model might be out soon, so thanks in advance to those who will be kind enough to share them online for all of to build.

The larger and grander LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244) set is scheduled to be released on May 4 just in time for the global celebration of everything Star Wars. This set comes in 1,768 pieces, and will retail for $199.99 USD.

Starting January 16, LEGO VIP members can purchase the mammoth sized D2C set, LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840) in any LEGO brand store and at shop.LEGO.com. To make the debut of this set extra special, LEGO has organized a couple of designer signing events where LEGO VIP fans who purchased the Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840) can meet and greet the designers behind this 3,100-piece set. There are two designer signing events that you may want to consider if you happen to be in London in the UK, or Florida, USA during the next few days.

As mentioned in their Facebook events page, the first designer signing event to happen will be on January 17, Thursday at 12PM to 3PM (UTC) at the LEGO flagship store in Leicester Square London, UK. On the other hand, the second event will cater to LEGO fans in the US on January 19 from 12PM to 3PM (EST) to be held at the LEGO Store in Disney Springs, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Here’s a quick look at what to expect from these designer signing events.

Don’t miss your chance to meet Justin Ramsden & Paul Constantin Turcanu – the official LEGO designer team and master minds behind THE LEGO MOVIE 2 ‘Welcome to Apocalypseburg’ set and get it signed.

Here’s Your Chance to Get a Free LEGO Overwatch Ganymede

LEGO has just announced a new promotional to celebrate the release of the LEGO Overwatch theme a couple of weeks from now. If you’re looking forward to visit your local LEGO Store in January, then you may want to mark the 23rd to have the chance to participate in the LEGO Store Overwatch Play Event. Like any other LEGO Store events, participating in this in-store play event will give you the chance to build and bring home your FREE LEGO Overwatch Ganymede brick-built figure.

This brick-built avian figure is a great companion to the LEGO Overwatch Bastion (75974) set which is also slated to be released on January 1. Here’s the full announcement from LEGO.com.

Some of your favorite Overwatch heroes have been protecting the LEGO® Store and have left their sprays behind. We need your help to search throughout the store to figure out which characters have been here!

Find the sprays and mark each one you find, then show your checklist to a Brick Specialist and build and take home your own FREE LEGO Overwatch Ganymede model!

Event takes place in stores January 23, 2019. To participate, you must sign up in stores beginning January 1, 2019. Builders must be between the ages of 6-14 to participate.

Be sure to drop by any LEGO brand store starting January 1 to register for this LEGO play event. And since this event is running only for a day, expect this free LEGO Overwatch Ganymede figure to run out pretty fast.

LEGO Store Black Friday Free Exclusives Revealed

A couple of months ago, we reported that the LEGO Bricktober 2018 minifigures will now be made available at LEGO Stores following the demise of toy retail giant, Toys R Us. The availability of these highly-sought after collectible minifigures was confirmed by LEGO over through an email send to querying fans . Afterwards, LEGO was quite mum about the details, and it eventually turned out that book store retail king Barnes and Noble, will exclusively offer one of the LEGO Bricktober minfigures as a promotional gift the day after the release of the Fantastic Beasts sequel, Crimes of Grindelwald.  This time around, it looks like LEGO is now staying true to its promise of offering one of the LEGO Bricktober 2018 minifigure sets as a LEGO Store Black Friday free exclusive.

If you recall, we also shared some prior rumor that the LEGO Ninjago Bricktober 2018 minifigure set (5005257) will be across LEGO Stores as part of LEGO’s Black Friday deals. Thanks to a report shared by The Brick Fan, we now have confirmation that is indeed the case. One of the readers of The Brick Fan’s blogsite shared the an image of the LEGO Store flyer, revealing what’s in store on LEGO Store Black Friday.

First off, we now have confirmation that the LEGO Ninjago Bricktober 2018 minifigure will now be available as a free, in-store LEGO Store Black Friday exclusive, with any single receipt purchase of any LEGO product worth $50 and above. This promotional is available only in-store so you might want to take the extra effort of locating the nearest LEGO Store nearest you.

One of my personal favorites and much-awaited LEGO GWP set for the holidays is the new LEGO Christmas Gift Box (40292). The set has already found its way in Europe and China, and its glad to hear that it will now be available in the US, from November 23 to 26, or until supplies last. Unlike the LEGO Ninjago Bricktober 2018 minifigures, the Christmas Gift Box will be available both in-store and online over at shop.LEGO.com. This cute, little holiday build will be available to all LEGO fans with a purchase of $99 or more.

Other than these LEGO Store Black Friday freebies, select LEGO sets will be on great discounts on Black Friday, with more LEGO sets placed on 30% discount from November 23 until 26. The deals continue until Cyber Monday where selected LEGO sets will still be offered at 20% discount.

The above mentioned LEGO Store flyer also tells us that the LEGO Creator Expert Detective’s Office (10246) will also be on a 20% discount from November 23 to 26. This modular set is now listed as out of stock over LEGO Shop@Home, so if you ever bump on this one at your local LEGO Store from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, then this might be the only time to get this set at a great discount. Alternatively, you may get the Detective’s Office (10246) roughly on its same regular price over at Amazon.

Be sure to stay tuned here on our blogsite for more LEGO Store Black Friday offers. We’ll update the site as more info comes in.
