LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2023: Everything You Need to Know

LEGO Star Wars fans, mark your calendars because May the 4th event is just around the corner! Let’s take a look at the recently revealed LEGO Star Wars May the 4th offerings that will be available during this much-anticipated event. Plus the best deals and free gifts that you can grab during the celebrations.

LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2023: Freebies with Purchases

This year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promotions will run from May 1 to 7, 2023 as mentioned over at the LEGO online shop campaign page. However, many deals at individual retailers will remain unknown until the actual event kicks off on May 4th.

The LEGO online shop usually has the most important promotions for LEGO Star Wars fans during this event, even if the discounts are traditionally the lowest there. This is due to the often attractive new releases in the past, but above all, to the free gifts which can be yours for certain qualifying purchases. And these freebies can become quite expensive on reselling sites as we’ve seen in the past.

For this year, there will be a lot of LEGO Star Wars May the 4th free gifts that will be up for grabs or while supplies last. Now is the great time to be a LEGO VIP member since many of these freebies will be unlocked along with your VIP perks. As of to date, there are three Gift with Purchase (GWP) items that are already confirmed.

LEGO Star Wars Death Star II (40591)

The set comes with LEGO 18+ branding in an exclusive black box and consists of 289 parts. However, there is no LEGO Star Wars minifigure to watch out for from this one. The minimum qualifying purchase to bag this set has dropped slightly compared to last year. This LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promo will be available for all LEGO Star Wars purchases of $150 or more. This gift-with-purchase set is scheduled to be available from May 1st to May 7th, 2023, while supplies last.

LEGO Star Wars Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Collectible (5007840)

For those who will opt to make their in-store purchases, LEGO is throwing in another promo at a lower price point. For every single-receipt in-store purchase of any LEGO Star Wars products $40 and up, you’ll receive a free Imperial Shuttle (30388) polybag.

You can get the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle (30388) polybag for free when your in-store LSW purchase reaches $40 and up.

However, since this is our last stretch for the LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promo, expect that some of the more premium LEGO sets are already on backorder or sold-out status. This is the case for the popular Helmet Collection and the new UCS R2-D2 (75308) set.

Some of the LEGO Star Wars Helmets are now on backorder status.

Nevertheless, there is still a ton of LEGO Star Wars sets to choose from, and taking a look over at LEGO Shop@Home might lead you to that one LSW set that you are looking for.

LEGO Launches 2021 May the 4th Promotions

Just in time with the announcement of the new LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2 (75308) set, LEGO has also unveiled its 2021 May the 4th promotions and other pretty cool freebies. And similar to previous years’ promo, LEGO is now giving another iconic Star Wars scene a microscaled, diorama rendition. Aside from its cool selection of LEGO Star Wars sets up for grabs, LEGO Shop@Home has now been updated to include several of its May the 4th promotions which will be made available starting May 1st.

Free LEGO Star Wars Tatooine Homestead (40451)

May the 4th

Similar to its diorama predecessors such as 2020’s Death Star II Battle (40407) and 2019’s Battle of Hoth – 20th Anniversary Edition (40333), the Tatooine Homestead (40451) features a microscaled version of Luke Skywalker’s beginnings in his home planet of Tatooine. This miniature vignette depicts the Lars family home, a Landspeeder, a Sandcrawler with the desert dunes of Tatooine on its background, and the year 2021 featured on the center. This May the 4th promotional will be added to your cart for free for every single receipt LEGO Star Wars purchases made between May 1 to 5 worth $85 and above.

Free LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle (30388) Polybag

May the 4th 0018 1130

As an in-store freebie, LEGO is throwing in this LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle (30388) polybag for fans who will opt to visit and purchase at their nearest LEGO Store from May 1 to 5. This polybag will be added to your cart for free for every single-receipt LEGO Star Wars purchase worth $40 or more.

LEGO Star Wars Dutch Vander Minifigure VIP Sweepstakes

May the 4th

LEGO is also throwing in another minifigure as part of its LEGO VIP sweepstakes promo running from May 1 to 21, 2021. For a certain number of LEGO VIP points, you can have a chance of winning a LEGO Star Wars Dutch Vander minifigure. This comes encased in a collectible acrylic case together with a signed photo of Canadian actor Angus MacInnes who played the iconic role of Rebel Squadron Gold Leader Jon “Dutch” Vander. With regards to the minifigure, I really can’t say if it’s an entirely new minifig version of the Gold Leader since its looks very much the same as that of the exclusive minifigure that came with the LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-wing Starfighter (75181) from 2018.

Aside from these c0llectible freebies, we can also expect the usual LEGO Double VIP points for LEGO Star Wars purchases made from May 1 to 5. And if you want to maximize those valuable points, then you may want to consider adding to your must-have list these upcoming sets such as the LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (75308), Imperial Probe Droid (75306), and Darth Vader (75304), and Scout Trooper (75305) Helmets.

Be sure to stay tuned for more May the  4th updates and promos. So what are you most excited about the LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promotions? Let us know in the comments below.

LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle (40407) Building Instructions Now Available

May the 4th is now officially over, and in case you missed out on this year’s exclusive LEGO Star Wars gift-with-purchase set, you might be glad to know that LEGO servers have uploaded the building instructions for the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle (40407).

LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle

From May 1 to 4, this promotional set was automatically given to LEGO customers whose LEGO Star Wars purchase reached $75 and above. Coming in at 235 pieces, the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle (40407) follows a microscale diorama format depicting that epic trench run scene between a TIE Interceptor and Rebel A-Wing Ship from Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

Thanks to LEGO Customer Service, we can now try to recreate this limited-edition set using its uploaded building instructions. Check out the following parts list and see if you have the parts needed to recreate this build.

40407 parts Page 1 40407 parts Page 2

Save for the exclusive 2×4 commemorative printed plate, I think you’ll need to improvise for those new 2×4 right and left wedge plates (parts 6295293 and 6295295 respectively) to somehow create a semblance of the microscaled TIE Interceptor in case you don’t have these. If you noticed, these recently released special plates are only found on two, new LEGO Star Wars sets: the Sith TIE Fighter (75272) and TIE Fighter Helmet (75274). In case you don’t have these parts, I’m sure we can find a suitable replacement for these parts to create that sleek, pointed form of the TIE Interceptor.

If you wish to build your own version of the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II Battle, you can get its building instructions for free from the LEGO Customer Service portal. On a similar note, you might be interested to know that the building instructions for last year’s similar May the 4th freebie, the LEGO Star Wars Battle of Endor 20th Anniversary Edition (40362) set, is also available for download.

And while you’re at it, be sure to check out the latest LEGO Star Wars sets now available at LEGO Shop@Home. Happy building!

New LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288) Listed at Amazon Japan

LEGO May the 4th now officially begins, and it looks like LEGO still has some surprises in store. Thanks to Amazon Japan, we now have a look at the new LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288), set to be released in August.

This latest brick rendition of the Imperial All Terrain Armored Transport is the LEGO Star Wars 5th set released under this category. First released in 2007 as a full-sized set (set 10178), this latest version of the behemoth now comes in at 1,267 pieces making it the largest LEGO Star Wars AT-AT to be offered. It also includes a substantial number of minifigures which include Luke Skywalker, General Veers, 2 AT-AT Pilots, and 2 Snowtroopers.

LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288)

I find it rather odd that Amazon Japan was the first to spill the beans on this one, considering that most of the latest LEGO Star Wars sets were revealed by LEGO themselves. From the new and highly popular LEGO Star Wars helmets, upcoming LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian sets, D-O (75278), and the latest UCS model the A-Wing Starfighter  (75275), all of these are directly distributed via LEGO Shop@Home. So having the new LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288) revealed via another retailer is a bit of a surprise. In any case, I expect this to be listed at LEGO’s online shopping portal anytime soon and, will be made available on August 1 alongside the LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and the Child (75317) and the 501st Legion Legion Clone Troopers (75280).

Here’s what Amazon Japan has to say about the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288). Pardon me for the rough Google translation. Thanks to the Brickfinder for the heads up.

May 2020 LEGO Store Calendar Highlights and More

May the 4th is just around the corner, as highlighted by LEGO’s May 2020 LEGO Store Calendar. And in keeping up with this year’s busiest week for LEGO Star Wars fans, LEGO is now doing its share of promotions and offerings from the galaxy far, far away.

Now just a word of caution – I am not encouraging all of you to go out there for a frenzied shopping spree to get the latest Star Wars merch. Since LEGO and other establishments have complied with the government’s marching orders to stay at home then, by all means, let’s continue to do so. So until such time that we ease up on our quarantine guidelines, LEGO has made it clear that it will keep its 150+ stores around the world temporarily closed until further notice.

But of course, we don’t necessarily need to remove the fun from this otherwise festive occasion. LEGO Shop@Home is still up and running and we can still enjoy the many LEGO freebies that LEGO has to offer. With that out of the way, let’s check out the details of next month’s LEGO promotional and freebies. You may also download a PDF version of the May 2020 LEGO Store Calendar via LEGO.com.

The LEGO May the 4th gift-with-purchase (GWP) set has been revealed last week, and it pays homage to that trench run scene aboard the Empire’s Death Star II straight from Episode 6 Return of the Jedi. This LEGO Star Wars GWP set will only be available from May 1 to 4 or until supplies last. This micro build will be added to your cart automatically once your LSW purchases reach $75 or more, so I hope you don’t miss out on this one.

May 2020 LEGO Store Calendar

LEGO is one with the world in celebrating this year’s Mother’s Day. And of course, you can always express your love to all the super moms out there with this lovely buildable token. This offer will be available from May 4 to 10 and will be added to your cart once your LEGO purchase reaches $40 and above.

Free LEGO City Beach Buggy (30369)

 May 18 to 31, 2020

30369 1

If you plan your purchases carefully for May, then chances are, you can still get this nice LEGO City polybag for free. For the same minimum single-receipt purchase of $40 and above of any LEGO set or merchandise, this beach combing mini build will be included in your cart upon checkout. I’ve always been a fan of polybags especially those from the LEGO City theme, so this one will be a nice part of any collection.

Though the first week of May is predominantly for LSW fans, you’ll be glad to know that some of the LEGO Minions sets are now available including other film-inspired sets such as the LEGO DC Superheroes Wonder Woman vs Cheetah (76157) and the LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger (42111). For CMF collectors, the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20 (71027) is also available as well.

And while we’re waiting for this pandemic to be somewhat under control, LEGO has launched its #LetsBuildTogether campaign to help LEGO fans and families have a better home experience during these trying times. For more info, you may visit LEGO.com/LetsBuildTogether. You may also want to check out Tyler’s series of video tutorials called Quarantine Creations for more inspiring builds.

Keep safe and happy building!
