LEGO Worlds Have Finally Come To An End

LEGO Worlds

Since its launch in 2016, the LEGO open-world video game LEGO Worlds, have so much potential to become the next sandbox game to contend against Minecraft. However, after three years and a failed a Survivor DLC update, it seems that the end is finally near with LEGO Worlds. The announcement has been made via the game’s official YouTube channel when the final collection of free LEGO Worlds downloadable content has been released. Here’s the video announcement earlier in July.

The final collection of LEGO Worlds content is finally here for you to download and it’s absolutely FREE! As a thank you to all our Master Builders we’ve amassed a humongous bundle of minifigures, brick builds, props and more for you to craft even more lavish LEGO creations and continue your exciting adventures. The Showcase Collection Pack 2 is available to download right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Get all the AWESOMELY FREE content we released on the showcase in 2018! Download your favorite characters, builds, props and more from ALL of the amazing sets we released, including original models featuring Pirates, the Wild West, and Ancient Egypt.

This final free DLC features an array of expansion packs such as Cloud Castles, Treasure Islands, City Life, Ancient Egypt, The Wild West, Ninjago City, Carnival Fun Fair and much more. Though some fans were clearly upset about this announcement, LEGO Worlds really didn’t take flight as compared to other LEGO video games such as LEGO Marvel Superheroes and its sequel, and LEGO DC Super-Villains. The game clearly has potential, but I guess it failed to click with some gamers and fans.

So what do you think went wrong with LEGO Worlds? What improvements could have been made in order for it to be a top-LEGO video game? Share us what you think in the comments below.

  1. TT can still build on the Lego Worlds idea. ( Lego Worlds II )
When you use a certain tool, you could collect certain items.
-Pick axe on stone blocks gets you stone rock for crafting special types of “discover-able” items. (eg. stone furnace.)
    – Wood axe on wooden blocks gets you timber for crafting other items like crafting tables.

This is all possible since the game already drops items from “discover-able” builds. You would now use items to build certain “discover-able” builds (you wouldn’t be able to copy them like treasure chests).

Re-design the item inventory by creating a limit to the amount you can carry.
Make chests special “discovery” builds that need to be crafted.
Make Pug-Z a storage with unlimited capacity (so you can take your stuff to other biomes)

    Create a C.A.M.P. system like Fall-out 76
    Have hunger, stamina, thirst, etc.

Re-design the camera, so that FPS is more accurate, and fix the zoom distance on 3rd person (toggle it in the settings).
Make the sprint toggle-able like every other game (auto sprint sucks)

Make all weapons craft-able, and with durability.

Create a trade system within villages and cities

Incorporate a enemy system that is less random. eg, they travel in groups and roam certain areas. Also they have certain biomes they spawn into in certain dungeons/buildings.
(zombies make more zombies by killing other mini-figs)

Change the button layout to be more user friendly. (mimic RPG-FPS games like Fallout 4 or 76… it WORKS!)

Make it so that the discovery tool can not spawn anything into existence on Survival mode, you must build it or buy it.

I always liked the idea for using certain weapons for different enemies. they could build on that.
    – Brown = wood – low tier weapons, and tools
    – Grey = Stone – Mid tier weapons, and tools
    – Pearl Light Grey = -High tier weapons, and tools ( More damage to normal enemies, less to Special enemy types)
    – Pearl Gold = Legendary High tier weapons, and tools (used for legendary enemies like Cyclops and Minotaurs)
    – Metalized Silver = Cursed High tier weapons, and tools (useful for cursed mini-figs like were-wolves and Vampires)
    – Pearl Dark Grey = Undead Mid tier weapon, and tools (useful for undead mini-figs)

Summed up, Lego Worlds demographic was young children <10 years old. The game was made to be simple, and easy to learn.

If TT was to make another Lego Worlds, it would have to be made for an older fan base that enjoys building Lego (for real).
This game would have to be a mash-up if it were to be a major player.
Think of Minecraft + Rust (that concept may work)

    1. I don’t think they should add the Minecraft stuff cause it would kinda be cool with everything else you said, and yes its awesome.

  3. My opinion is that the game is pretty great as is. However, the glitches need to be fixed. And most definitely, there needs to be much more guidance on the various goals/tasks available… for those of us who do not eat, sleep, breath gaming! After the three tutorial worlds, and especially after seeing the next two cost additional money, I was thinking “what the heck is this all about?” and “why isn’t there more stuff to do?”. For whatever reason, I had totally missed the part about spawning random worlds; and once you are past the basic tutorials, how are you supposed to find out how to proceed further. So my vote is for the game as is, with repairs, and with more instruction on game play, rules, and ultimate goals. And… speed a few things up, because it takes a very long time to explore each world. Too bad I did not personally benefit from the 3 trillion miles my characters walked! I love Lego games, and I hope Tt and associates keep making them. By the way, after multiple worlds and many tries on each, I did get that crazy lady to recognize we had arrived to the Samurai castle…whew! But still cannot get the gold dragon… he just permanently glitches into passiveness. Thanks to the game makers… got my money’s worth, in spite of the irritating glitches. And MANY thanks to gamers who post guidance; if it was not for you, I would give up.

  4. Lego Worlds is already great!
They shouldn’t give up on it.

The game doesn’t even need a redesign to make it worth developing Lego Worlds 2.
Just add more features and promote the game!

    Make it an MMO.
