LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System (10341) Makes an Appearance

Rumors have been swirling about the LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System (10341), and now, it seems the wait is over as the new LEGO Icons 18+ set has been spotted in the wild.

Unveiling the Rumors Behind the LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System

Last month, whispers from brick-street point to a possible new addition to the LEGO Space-themed sets for 2024. The signs point to a possible brick-built version of an Artemis One Rocket & Launchpad, and as it turned out, it is now confirmed that a brick-built version of this technological and engineering marvel will soon arrive at our local LEGO Stores and online.

The anticipation grew with more talks of a massive LEGO Icons model set to launch in May. Fast forward to today, and it looks like those rumors hold weight, with possibly the first sightings of the LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System (10341) set surfacing.

A Sneak Peek

Caught on camera at Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei by Reddit user Spare_Promotion661, the upcoming LEGO Icons NASA Artemis set promises an exhilarating build. With a staggering 3,601 pieces, this 18+ model faithfully recreates the Artemis I rocket, complete with intricate boosters and a meticulously detailed launch gantry.

Price Speculations and Release Date

While initial rumors hinted at a May 15 release date with a price tag of $259.99, these details remain unconfirmed. Another cool fact about this Space Launch System (SLS) rocket is that it was known for its uncrewed Moon-orbiting mission back in 2022 which carried four LEGO minifigure astronauts onboard.

If you recall, this version of the rocket also previously appeared in a more scaled-down form in the LEGO City Rocket Launch Center (60351) back in 2022. This LEGO City set showcased NASA-inspired elements, featuring a multistage rocket with a capsule, a functional launch tower lift, and a bustling control center.

A smaller brick-built model of the NASA Artemis first made its appearance in 2022.

While the LEGO Group has yet to formally announce the release of the 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System, speculation is rife that the unveiling could be imminent. With the LEGO Icons set expected to land in less than a month, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation and further details.

Needless to say, the LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System (10341) promises an exciting addition to any LEGO Icons collection. Stay tuned for more updates as the countdown to the launch continues!

Among the four minifigures, one stands out with its distinct features – pointed elf ears and what appears to be dreadlocks tied up in a bun. This character, wielding a book, hints at the possibility of being a wizard. Wizards, known for their mastery of spells, often rely on books for their magical knowledge. It’s worth noting that the dreadlock LEGO hairpiece is a rather rare find. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve seen this minifigure accessory somewhere before.

As we analyze the image further, we spot a minifigure brandishing a shield and sword, distinct from the ones seen in previous teasers. I guess that it could be a Paladin.

Accompanying the group is a hooded figure armed with a crossbow, adding a mysterious allure to the ensemble. Given its accessories, my best guess is that this minifigure character could be a Ranger.

And finally, there is another minifigure that wields a familiar accessory similar, to that of the God of Thunder. Other than carrying a war hammer, this character seems to wear a pauldron as well and hints at being a Barbarian or a Warlord.
