WATCH: Take A Look At The Latest ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer Featured At San Diego Comic-Con.

LEGO reveals and exclusives just keep on coming in from San Diego Comic-Con, now it’s Day #3. After LEGO’s first round of offering with its brand new sets centered on The LEGO Batman Movie, and exclusive Comic-Con brick-built Brickheadz figures, we now have another exclusive reveal for all those attending this year’s Comic-Con. Thankfully, Warner Bros Animation Group was kind enough to upload the Comic-Con exclusive The LEGO Batman Movie trailer for all of us to enjoy. Watch this awesome trailer and try not to be overwhelmed with all the amazing stuff that lies hidden in the attic of the Wayne Mansion.

I think I’m starting to understand how Robin feels – there is so much to say about the Batcave! This Comic-Con trailer of The LEGO Batman Movie is somehow reminiscent of that which was shown at an exclusive screening during last April’s Cinema Con at Las Vegas. The trailer gives us a glimpse on the backstory of Dick Grayson (voiced by Michael Cera) which will later be known as Robin. It was kind of shocking for Batman (Will Arnett) to hear Alfred drop that bombshell of an announcement that the lone Caped Crusader has a son – which he ‘accidentally’ adopted during a gala event. Life doesn’t give you seat belts indeed.

LEGO Batman Trailer 03

It didn’t take long for the highly inquisitive Grayson to figure out that Batman lives under the Wayne Mansion (which Batman immediately corrected by saying that it is ‘Bruce Wayne lives in Batman’s attic’). When the bat is finally out of the bag so to speak, it is just a matter of time before Grayson wished for a costume of his own, declaring himself as Batman’s sidekick – and like any other sidekick, he also wants a costume of his own, and wow, the array of LEGO Batman costumes shown in this clip is simply stunning. Yes, we know that some LEGO fans may already feel that Batman is already saturated with so many iterations on his costumes, but with costumes like “Tears of A Bat”, “St. Batricks”, “El Murcielago”, “Glam Bat”, “Merbat” and of course, “The Reggae Man”, I guess a little bit of LEGO fun and humor added to Batman’s minifigure line will not hurt anyone. If you were able to spot the Buccaneer Batman then you have a very good eye.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

Will Arnett reprises his starring role from “The LEGO Movie” as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis stars as The Joker; Michael Cera as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon; and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred. “The LEGO Batman Movie” is directed by Chris McKay and produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. It is written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, with additional screenplay material by Jared Stern & John Whittington, based on LEGO Construction Toys, in association with LEGO System AS. Chris McKay also serves as an executive producer, alongside Ryan Harris. A Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, “The LEGO Batman Movie” will open in theaters on February 10, 2017. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Since it’s a SDCC exclusive, everything about it feels absolutely special – from its packaging with the iconic Comic-Con logo, to its printed tile with #LEGOSDCC.

This Is How To Play With Your Food – In LEGO Style.

We’ve seen many true-to-life renditions of daily objects rendered in LEGO form – from chibi-sized LEGO automobiles to clockwork hearts and even a KFC vending machine. But none comes closer to the delectable accuracy and appetizing builds of these LEGO MOCs. Coming from voracious imaginations of Japanese master builder nobu_tary and Bruce Lowell, these tasty reimagining of hearty meals will surely leave you wanting for more.

Mouthwatering pizza.

nobu_tary’s effective use of yellow and red pieces gives this MOC one delicious angle. It’s perfectly placed stand gives it a very realistic effect of all that flowing cheese goodness.

Delectable Hamburger Steak With Egg.

I love the way how the studs stick out from the hamburger steak, giving it a tasty texture, in contrast to the brick-built fried egg’s smooth surface.

Hamburger steak with Egg

Asian Sashimi Delight.

What probably stands out from this fine LEGO Asian dish MOC is nobu_tary’s excellent choice of colors: the hue for the fish, toppings, and even the prawns are all spot on. Just by looking at it already whets my appetite.

On the go? Bring this Subway with you.

Looking at Bruce Lowell’s MOC from a distance will really make you think that you are looking at one gorgeous sub. His clever use of brick layering techniques gives this Subway sandwich a very realistic appeal. He also managed to come up with a nicely proportioned cup of cold drinks and some bag of potato crisps, with the logos of Subway and Lays perfectly recreated.

LEGO Subway Sandwich Meal

I’m quite sure that I’m smacking my lips right now. Writing this post is starting to make me hungry. Be sure to visit our nobu_tary and Bruce Lowell’s Flickr pages to see more of their delicious creations.

Now, let me see what’s in the fridge…

So before we dive in to see the details of this year’s exclusive set, it is necessary to have a proper, insider perspective about the LEGO Inside Tour experience and to have a better appreciation of it. We’re fortunate to stumble upon an excellent piece written by Ms. Sophie of LCC Builders where she shared her once-in-a-lifetime experience of being a part of the LEGO Inside Tour. Be sure to check out her story right here.

This year’s LEGO Inside Tour is dedicated to the world’s largest and most beautiful LEGO truck ever made – the LEGO Truck Show (4000022). Thanks to Ms. Sophie for sharing these pictures of the LEGO Truck Show. Take a look.

LEGO Movie 2 Will Be Delayed, Fans May Have To Wait Until 2019.

This may not sound like awesome news. Variety recently reported that Warner Bros. has decidedly rearranged the release dates of some of its upcoming films, including the sequel The LEGO Movie 2. Originally slated for a May 2018 release the follow-up to the multi-million success film was pushed for another year to have an adjusted summer release date of February 8, 2019, adopting the same opening weekend as that of the first LEGO movie back in 2014.

The good thing though, is that two LEGO-inspired films seem to be right on schedule as their release dates for next year remain unchanged: the LEGO Batman movie is expected to hit theaters on February 10, 2017, while the LEGO Ninjago movie is slated on September 17, 2017. That’s two LEGO theatrical releases to expect next year.

If you recall, the LEGO Movie was a pleasantly surprising success, with an opening weekend gross of $69 million domestically, trailblazing to bring home the bacon earning a total gross of $470 million worldwide. Its success spurred similarly themed theatrical films such as The LEGO Batman Movie, LEGO Ninjago, and a fourth movie that we scantly know about, The Billion Brick Race which is co-written and co-directed by Jason Segel and Drew Pearce with an originally announced release date of May 24, 2019. However, this may likely be pushed back as well given the adjustment that was done on the LEGO Movie 2.
