Our jumpy, but lovable Great Dane is back once again for a new adventure rendered in bricks and minifigures. We last saw Scooby and the gang in their LEGO form in the Cartoon Network’s TV Special, ‘LEGO Scooby-Doo: Knight Time Terror.’ Now they’re back in an all-new LEGO and Warner Bros. Animation original direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray movie LEGO® Scooby-Doo!: Haunted Hollywood. Thistime, Scooby and the Mystery Inc.’s motley crew of Fred, Daphne, Velma, and of course Shaggy heads out to the entertainment capital of the world where they take a tour of the legendary Brickton Studios, a historic Hollywood movie studio. Read the rest of the movie’s synopsis below, courtesy of

While visiting the lot, the gang is surprised to find the once powerful film studio has fallen onto hard times. Neglected and in disrepair, Brickton, which has lost its luster, now faces threats of closure and an impending sale to greedy developers who want to tear it down.

To top it off, the Mystery Inc. gang discovers that the studio’s backlot is haunted by the ghost of Boris Karnak, a famous, old-time movie actor who has been making ghostly appearances in the roles he once made famous – including the Headless Horseman, the Mummy and the Zombie.

The ghostly sightings have frightened away the cast and crew of Brickton’s latest film production, which was the studio’s final effort in trying to save the company from going under. Now with production halted on the movie which was supposed to rescue Brickton from its demise, it looks as though the famous backlot is destined to fall into the hands of the developers after all. Will it be a wrap for Brickton or will Scooby and the gang find a way to help the studio achieve box-office success? It’s a bricktacular adventure no Scooby-Doo! fan will want to miss!

Here is the exclusive trailer from LEGO’s latest Scooby-Doo film:

As the promotional poster suggests, this LEGO DVD release will come with an exclusive limited edition, Scooby-Doo minifigure so it’s a sure fire sweet deal. LEGO Scooby-Doo!: Haunted Hollywood will be available in DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD on May 3, 2016.

LEGO NEXO Knights is slated to be released this week in the UK. Immediate Media, publisher of the Chima, Ninjago and Friends magazines, will be launching this maiden issue coupled with a very sweet deal: a Lance Richmond minifigure with a round table and feast. This is somehow a rare treat considering that this is the first time that Lance is seen without a helmet and on a rather relaxed mood. Definitely, a hero needs a break every once in a while.

Lance Minifig

Like the ones before it, LEGO NEXO Knights Magazine comes with heaps of cartoons, activities, competitions, posters, and of course the above mentioned minifig. The magazine is aimed primarily at kids from 6-14, and is based on the popular LEGO theme set and animated television series that debuted on Cartoon Network in the US last December 13, 2015.

The series focuses on five valiant young knights namely Clay, Aaron, Lance, Macy, and Axl who have sworn to protect Knighton from the ruthless Jestro and his menacing Book of Monsters and legion of lava monsters. With the help of the digital wizard Merlok 2.0, and apprentice Robin Underwood, the Nexo Knights defends the kingdom from evil using their Nexo Powers.

We’re still keeping watch on when is the official release of LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine in the US, if ever there’ll be one. In the meantime, our best bet probably is either to order online or have our good old friends in the UK send us a copy.

Check out some of these sample pages courtesy of The LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine will be available on Wednesday, February 24 at shops for a price of £3.25 (US$ 4.65)

Tom and Jason did an excellent coverage of what is hot at the LEGO booth at the New York Toy Fair. Now that the 2016 Toy Fair comes to an end, let’s look back at the highlights of what LEGO has in store for this year. Here’s a round up of what we gathered in the NYTF.

One of the most anticipated LEGO sets revealed at the NYTF is the UCS Assault on Hoth (75098). Excitement was steadily building up to the day LEGO unveiled its latest Star Wars-based Ultimate Collectors Series. As it turned out, there were some mixed reactions about this ranging from sheer joy, to downright skepticism on what LEGO is actually offering with its newest UCS. This informative diagram is circulating a lot within Lego Reddit circles. Though we don’t know exactly to whom the credit belongs to for this photo, we’re sure that s/he has a very interesting take on what LEGO came up with in its Assault on Hoth UCS. Just send us some leads if you happen to know the source of this.

LEGO Maze tn_omlYquW_jpg

LEGO Maze is on its way! The upcoming Ideas based approved project was hinted by the brick giant on its Facebook page announcing its release sometime on April. Coded as 21305 LEGO Maze, this cool contraption is the brainchild of Jason (who goes by the name JK Brickworks via Flickr) and comes in 769 pieces.

Its official entry as a LEGO based Idea proposal was originally named as “Labyrinth Marble Maze”. It’s an interactive maze build where the object of the game is to simply ensure that the ball goes from point A to point B. Of course, it may sound simple as it may look. With mazes that are highly customizable and interchangeable, players have unlimited options on how they want their labyrinths to be challenging. According to Jason, “Having an interchangeable maze system means you can customize the maze as you see fit, build additional mazes, and make them as simple or challenging as you want. Check out these pictures of Jason’s customized labyrinths.”

Jason Labyrinth image 2

Jason Labyrinth image 4

The mechanics of the game is fairly simple. Using a set of LEGO Technic axles and liftarms, players can control the movement of the ball inside the maze. It has a pretty impressive, smooth and accurate control over the movement of the board.

LEGO has not revealed yet on how the LEGO Maze (21305) will actually look and work. For sure they’ll be throwing in some modifications of their won and some probable adjustments in the gameplay. Perhaps they’ll be throwing in some limited edition minifigs. We’ll see. However, what we’re sure of is the fact that the basic gameplay will still be the same. We’ll be updating you soon on the LEGO Maze but for the meantime, check out this video demonstration by Jason on how his Labyrinth works.

We’re truly overwhelmed with the positive reviews and comments that we have received recently with our coverage of LEGO’s latest unveilings at the New York City Toy Fair. Jason, Stephen, Tom and the rest of BrickShow’s team is working round the clock to give our brick fans the latest scoops from the city that never sleeps. From Ninjagos to Star Wars, to LEGO City and Junior Sets, BrickShow TV will continue to provide you with the latest news from the brick company live from the annual toy fair. Kindly bear with us if ever you’ll experience any Error 503 along the way due to the heavy load that our servers are experiencing.

For the meantime, allow me to share this excellent coverage done by FamilyGamerTV on what’s new within the quirky, crazy world of LEGO’s Mixels. In the usual LEGO way of releasing a new series every four months, the brick giant unveiled two more sets during the NY Toy Fair in addition to its officially announced Series 7. See more of it in detail in the following video.

As you can see, LEGO Mixels have gone a long way, from its Pokemon-like themes of Earth, Fire, Lightning, Water/Ice, and Magic type of Mixels. 2016 saw a new direction with the introduction of its ‘occupation’-based Mixels that were gradually added in Series 6 with the Weldos Tribe. Well personally, I prefer that LEGO will stick to its original plan of developing ‘elemental-type’ Mixels. It offers more flexibility (and sense) in terms of combining Mixels across tribes. My best guess is that LEGO is keen in developing such wacky combinations to keep up with its unique brand of humor, exemplified in its Cartoon Network animation series.

With that being said, here are the lists of the official Mixels to be offered by LEGO throughout the year. Series 7 is now available in all major stores retailing at $4.99 each. Series 8 is slated to come out sometime in June while Series 9 in October. Credit goes to the Jedi News Team via for the excellent photos of Series 9 straight from the NYTF.

Lego Mixels Series 7: Kuffs (41554), Busto (41555), Tiketz (41556), Camillot (41557), Mixadel (41558), Paladum (41559), Jamzy (41560), Tapsy (41561), Trumpsy (41562)

Lego Mixels Series 8: Splasho (41563), Aquad (41564), Hydro (41565), Sharx (41566), Skulzy (41567), Lewt (41568), Surgeo (41569), Skrubz (41570), Tuth (41571)
