The LEGO Batman Movie Gotham City Police Department Pack (853651) Spotted in Asia!

Following the tradition of the LEGO Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and City minifigure packs, comes another similar minifig offering under the LEGO Batman Movie theme. The Gotham City Police Department Pack (853651) as posted by Brickset, retails at $14.99 and consists of three minifigures, that of Chief O’Hara and two Gotham police officers plus a Bat Signal that has a slightly different build as compared to TLBM Accessory Pack (5004930).

Thanks to one of our friends over at Facebook, we learned that the said TLBM minifigure pack is now currently available at LEGO Certified Stores in Hong Kong. Yin Ng was kind enough to snap this image which he took at an LCS in HK and shared it with us.

If one of your 2017 goals is to have ALL The LEGO Batman Movie minifigures adorn your shelf or ‘mini’ minifig wall, and you happen to be in Hong Kong as you’re reading this, then it might be helpful to know where to find this to complete your collection. There’s no word yet on when this TLBM minifigure pack will be available in the US and other parts of North America, but we’ll sure keep you posted once news comes in.

Thanks to Yin Ng for the heads-up!

CONFIRMED: Additional Villain Minifigures That Will Be Included In The 2017 The LEGO Batman Movie Summer Sets.

This news has been up and about for quite some time now, and in case you haven’t seen it yet, its nice to know that what we have previously thought and reported regarding the rumored 2017 The LEGO Batman Movie summer sets have been confirmed. Thanks to the heads up by The Brick Fan, we now get to see the (semi?) official images of some of these minifigures.  Let’s take a look.

Polka Dot Man

This minifig version of the classic villain is probably one of the best minifigures ever done in the series. Shame it was not included in the TLBM CMF, but there is still hope of adding them in your collection because rumor has it that he will be added to  an upcoming LEGO set slated to be revealed in Summer. Will he get a vehicle of his own of some sorts? We’ll probably get a hint once  we see The LEGO Batman Movie debut on the big screen.

Bane and Mutant Leader

The villain on steroids has finally got what he deserves  – an actual, bigfig version. First teased by LEGO insider Delta Customs, and finally confirmed by DK’s TLBM Essential Guide, this final piece of info has finally set into stone Bane’s bigfig presence in one of TLBM’s sets. He is joined by another member of Gotham’s rogues gallery by the warmongering Mutant Leader.

Wicked Witch and her Flying Monkeys

First teased on TLBM’s trailers, the villainess from LEGO Dimensions has crossed over to wreak havoc in Gotham. It’s nice to see LEGO stretching the limits of its licenses and dimensions so to speak, by including elements from its toys-to-life genre, particularly the Wicked Witch and her host of mischievous Flying Monkeys. The Wicked Witch and her Flying Monkeys are expected to be a part of another yet to be revealed TLBM set expected to be revealed in Summer.

Here’s An Interesting Find: The LEGO Star Wars R3-M2 Minifigure (40268) Polybag.

Following the sneak peek of the latest buildable droid around with the LEGO Star Wars Mini R2-D2 (30611) polybag, comes another surprise find. Brickset has just posted what seems to be the start of a new line of collectible minifigures with the LEGO Star Wars R3-M2 Minifigure (40268) polybag.

[]

According to Brickset’s report, this polybag was found in a Romanian monobrand store, and is given for FREE for every purchase of any LEGO Star Wars sets. In case you’re not familiar with the name, which is most probably the case for most of the astromechs that populated the Star Wars galaxy due to their numerous iterations and variants, R3-M2 was first featured in last year’s hit film, Rogue One.

[]

What is interesting about this minifig version of R3 is the fact that it stands on a base with a Technic pin on the side. This may hint on a new way of displaying and connecting several other minifigures. The display feature is also pretty obvious with the addition of a sticker nameplate in front of the base/stand. There is no word yet on when, where, and how this polybag can be found in the US. Will it be a part of a new LEGO Star Wars promotional? How about a May the 4th promo? Or yet the bigger question is, will this indicate a new line of LEGO Star Wars minifigures? The possibilities are simply exciting. What do you think?

Here Are Several LEGO Polybag Promos to Watch Out For Beginning January, 2017.

LEGO continues to be in a festive mood this Christmas season with these very much welcomed promos slated for the first two months of 2017. Though initially revealed through a LEGO Store flyer distributed in Germany, it will not be long until we see these same promos landing in LEGO brand stores and shop.LEGO.com in the US. Please bear in mind that the flyer is written in German so I don’t claim to understand the language, but thankfully we have Promo Bricks to help us make sense out of this exciting LEGO promotional. Let’s take a look.

The journey continues for our young heroes from Knighton as they face off with new enemies and gain new abilities. The cover of the flyer puts the LEGO NEXO Knights back into the spotlight which features their new found ability of combining their NEXO powers. If you recall, LEGO alluded to this new way of combining NEXO powers in Wave 1 of Nexo Knights Combo NEXO Powers (70372) set to help fend off the forces of the Stone Army.

Moving on, the above pages highlight some of the new sets (more than 180 sets, in fact) that are slated to hit stores in the first quarter of 2017. Notable among these are some of the new sets to be released under LEGO’s DC Super Hero Girls such as Harley Quinn to the Rescue (41231), LEGO City’s Mobile Command Center (60139), LEGO Friends Hearlake Summer Pool (41313), LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308), LEGO Ninjago Dawn of Iron Doom (70626), and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Hulk VS Red Hulk (76078).

Here’s the fun part. We mentioned before that LEGO has thrown in another polybag promotional with the LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman, Tears of Batman (30607) set. At that time, we had no info yet on when and how you may obtain this polybag which has shown to be a potential must-have set since it will feature not one, but two Batman minifigs that are not found on LEGO Batman Movie set. It now seems to be set in stone since LEGO has announced that the said polybag set will be offered as a freebie for every single receipt purchase of 55 Euros (or roughly around 50-60 USD) of any LEGO products (both in-store and online) beginning February 6 to 26 just in time of the film’s theatrical debut. There seems to be no qualifying purchase of any kind other than price point mentioned so this is something that most LEGO Batman enthusiasts will definitely look forward to.

As mentioned earlier, the LEGO Nexo Knights opens a new chapter in their adventures with the introduction of new tech and skills to ward off the sinister threat of Monstrox and his evil Stone Army. This new chapter also unveils LEGO’s latest Nexo Knights sets scheduled for release in 2017 including a new polybag to go along with it.

The LEGO Nexo Knights Shrunken Headquarters (30378) polybag features a Stone Army soldier and a roller-drawn catapult. Fans that will purchase a LEGO NEXO Knights set anytime between January 3 to February 5 will get to bring home this polybag for free. There is no word yet on the minimum qualifying purchase amount to be entitled for this polybag, but given previous LEGO promotionals, we can assume a purchase threshold of anywhere between $50 to $60.

And of course, last but definitely not the least on the LEGO Store flyer’s A-list is the massive modular set, the LEGO Creator Expert Assembly Square (10255). In celebration of LEGO’s 10th modular brick-building year, the Assembly Square is scheduled to be released on New Year’s Day both via LEGO Brand Stores and at shop.LEGO.com as a direct-to-consumer exclusive, priced at $279.99.

Hats off once again to Promo Bricks for helping us make sense out of this flyer.

Another LEGO Batman Movie Polybag Spotted!

It seems that LEGO is really cranking things up a notch with its ridiculously zany take on the many different Bat costumes around. Coming in hot from the previous reveal of two new LEGO Batman minifigs in the polybag promotional LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman and Tears of Batman (30607), comes another polybag that seems to look like a mashup between Pokemon and Batman in his party suit. Spotted by LEGO insider Delta Customs, this unnamed polybag seems to be an Asian exclusive promotional and comes in at 24 pieces featuring a new Batman minifig in a yellow striped tuxedo, encased in a pod or vault-like shell together with several accessories. Check out Delta’s Instagram post below.

Now this is just an afterthought, but I couldn’t help but think that this new LEGO Batman Movie minifigure bears a striking resemblance from a still that has been shared by Entertainment Weekly last Christmas Eve. The said photo still may not be that crucial to the overall plot of the film, but since director Chris McKay has already been quite frank about the various cameos that the LEGO Movie spin-off will allude to, I guess having a wittingly new costume to don our black and yellow hero will hardly be a shocker.

There is no news yet on the serial number of the said polybag, much more on how it can be obtained. We’ll keep you posted once more info comes in so be sure to stay tuned here at the Brick Show!

The LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure Checklist Offers an Intriguing Teaser.

Waiting for January seems to be forever, especially if you’ve waited long enough to have the latest minifigure craze in Gotham in all its black and yellow glory. Since LEGO’s reveal of The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures series last month, the said CMF series has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and reaction. This is one CMF series that certainly deserve a special spot in anyone’s minifigure collection.

LEGO Batman Movie Minifigures Series 61017 Figures

Now if you’ve come prepared for this, and are ready to burn some serious cash for this collectible, then you’ll be glad to know that there are exactly three complete sets of all 20 minifigs in the series per box of 60. This means that you can give those LEGO-holic friends of yours and strike a sweet deal of pooling in some cash to ensure that all three of you gets all 20 minifigs of the LEGO Batman Movie CMF. This is one deal that is hard to pass.

However, if you’ll opt to feel your way through each polybag, aiming only to have a particular minifig donning your desk or shelf, then The Brothers Brick has written an excellent and very comprehensive feel guide that may help you get your most faved minifig. Furthermore, Promo Bricks has uploaded a copy of the LBM minifig checklist that you may print and bring with you in case you’ll go out hunting for that one sole minifigure you really want. Check these out by clicking on the images below.

If you’ll look again at the back side of the minifig checklist, you’ll immediately notice the silhouette of an undisclosed minifigure with an enigmatic date printed near it. As of this writing we do not have any news about this mysterious minifig. However, we can make a pretty good guess that this may be a teaser of some sorts for either CMF Series 17 or an entirely different set considering that another Disney film is slated to launch on May 26, 2017 which is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. We reported way back in July that we generally considered such news or connection of a new LEGO set to the film to be downright fake. But considering this teaser from the LBM CMF, and since the silhouette in question seems to wear a classic tricorn hat, then one can’t help but speculate if we’ll be seeing Jack Sparrow and the rest of his gang once again in their minifigure form.

LEGO and Pentatonix Delivers a 360-Degree Christmas Special.

Pentatonix, the American a cappella group known for their rendition of hit songs such as Somebody That I Used to Know and We Are Young (whose YouTube videos also went viral), is now immortalized in LEGO form through a charmingly hilarious music video just in time for Christmas. Showing their child-like and fun-loving side, they’ve teamed up with LEGO to create a music video for their latest upbeat Christmas song Up On The Housetop. Rendered in minifigure forms, the group’s music video offers a 360-degree view that is also watchable in VR. Watch this.

LEGO seems to be showing interest in VR technology, following the announcement of its upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz VR Builder for the Android system last week. The virtual reality game allows players to enter a colorful virtual room where they take on the role of a particular BrickHeadz and interact with the environment using Google’s proprietary VR headset. If you recall, LEGO launched its Brickheadz theme during July’s San Diego Comic Con, focusing on both DC and Marvel superheroes.

An Unexpected LEGO Batman Movie Polybag Spotted – Disco Batman and Tears of Batman 30607

When we thought we saw it all, a surprising revelation sheds light to another polybag set that comes under the LEGO Batman Movie theme. As mentioned by Minifigure Price Guide, a certain Facebook user that goes by the name Digibee and presumably based in Macau, has started offering the LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman and Tears of Batman (30607) polybag. The said polybag features two minifgures of Batman wearing what seems to be a dance floor get up from the 70s including a pair of rolling shoes, while the other is a bit sketchy since it features Batman in what seems to be a clown suit and tagged as ‘Tears of Batman’. The only moment that it was hinted at in the trailers was when Dick Grayson was swooning over at Batman’s massive collection of bat suits. Here’s a screenshot of that particular scene and pay attention to the bat suit on the extreme left.

I’m definitely missing on some of the details here, especially considering that the ‘Tears of Batman’ minifigure also seems to hint at an amusement park setting (take a close look at the polybag’s background). Do you think the polybag itself is just a play on words, or does it reveal a very specific plot about the LEGO Batman Movie? Check this out.

If you recall, the very first polybag that we reported belonging to the LEGO Batman Movie involves the Caped Crusader seemingly trapped in the Phantom Zone. When we published about the existence of the Batman in the Phantom Zone (30522) polybag last October, LEGO was quick to gently remind us to take down the said image and we promptly complied. We are willing to do the same if ever LEGO will make a similar request again on this one.

There is no official release date for the LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman and Tears of Batman (30607) polybag, but perhaps we might see this pop up in all LEGO Brand Stores and shop.LEGO.com later in January together with other polybags such as the Batman in the Phantom Zone (30522),The Joker Battle Training (30523) and the Mini Batwing (30524). These polybags have already caught the interest of some minifig collectors, so I expect that these polybag/minifigs will be out of stock very soon, with scalpers offering them on eBay for mind-boggling prices. For one, Digibee has already been selling some of these polybags over on Facebook for as much as $50 each.

Needless to say, these newest LEGO Batman minifigures will be a sure hit for collectors and fans alike. So what do you think about this polybag ? What is it trying to hint at? Tell us what you think in the comments below or join the discussions on our Facebook page. Many thanks to Minifigure Price Guide for pointing this out.

The LEGO Batman Movie Welcomes LEGO Dimensions Characters.

LEGO’s blockbuster toy-to-life game is not just about bringing brick-built toys to life. It also boasts of a massive mashup of some of the most beloved characters and licenses both in film and television. Given the adeptness of LEGO in bringing all these characters under one roof, it will not come as a surprise (in fact, it is expected) if the characters from the LEGO Dimensions portal will be making their appearance on the big screen – and there is no better way to do so than to be featured in the upcoming Warner Bros film, The LEGO Batman Movie. If you have seen all the five trailers already, then I’m quite sure you haven’t missed those LEGO Dimensions references.

To begin with, the latest trailer pays homage to the long running British sci-fi classic TV series, Doctor Who. If you notice this screen grab from one of the trailers, we see a throng of extraterrestrial beings named as Daleks working together to destroy a certain structure. These robotic characters bare very close resemblance on a particular LEGO Dimensions set which is the Cyberman (71238) also from the Doctor Who license.

Screenshot 1 e1481651225970    71238 1

The menacing Gremlins were also featured in one of the scenes where we saw them thrashing the Batjet while flying in midair! The minifigure version of these rogue critters is very much the same as that from the Gremlins Team Pack (72156). How many mogwais can you find in this screenshot?

Screenshot 2

71256 1

Lastly, as we mentioned earlier, one of the rumored sets that will make it to the cut as an official LEGO Batman Movie set may likewise feature an unlikely villain coming from the LEGO Dimensions portal. Though, not seen in this screenshot, if you look carefully at the flying creatures in the background, then you’ll notice that these are the Wicked Witch’s Flying Monkeys as seen from the LEGO Dimensions set Wicked Witch (71221).

The LEGO Batman Movie does an amazing job of including all these LEGO Dimensions characters without losing sight of the main narrative. It is a clever way to add some LEGO fun and humor which makes the film even more appealing as audiences see the connections that each character has under the great LEGO sun. What other LEGO Dimensions mashup and themes do you think the LEGO Batman Movie has in store? We’ll find out once the film opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.

Latest LEGO Batman Movie Extended TV Spot Introduces the Worst Villains in the History of the Universe.

Warner Bros Animation has recently released its extended TV spot trailer that shows never-before-seen footage that may shed light to the ‘real score’ between Batman and Joker. It may likewise offer an explanation for the reason behind the Joker’s longstanding personal grudge. Well, as they use to say, ‘hell hath no fury like a villain scorned’. Okay, okay, I know it’s a feeble attempt at humor, but let’s be honest, seeing Joker putting on a puppy face like that after receiving from Batman the most painful 4-word sentence that he has ever heard in his entire life (“There is no us”!) – simply priceless!

LBM 9

The latest TV spot also introduces – in Joker’s words – ‘the worst villains in the history of the universe’. We’ve seen most of them already, including those that were handpicked by LEGO to be included in the official The LEGO Batman Movie sets, collectible minifigures and poster. This time around, we get to see totally new and not made up LEGO Batman villains such as the Gentleman Ghost from 1947 and the Condiment King (seriously?!) as he is seen in the video game, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Try to name as many Batman villains as you can from the TV Spot trailer below.

As a bonus, Warner gives us a sneak peek on how the members of the JLA chill out during their 57¼ annual anniversary party. I have to admit that for a moment, my heart skipped a beat seeing the Wonder Twins and Gleek, Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, and the Black Canary and the rest of my childhood superheroes rendered in LEGO minifigure form. I realized how great it will be if LEGO will somehow release an entire minifig collection focused solely on the classic Justice League. With a handful of sets still waiting to be revealed, I guess it will be nice to consider all the possibilities.

LBM 6

The LEGO Batman Movie is scheduled to hit US theaters on February 10, 2017 and stars Will Arnett as the voice of Batman aka Bruce Wayne, Zach Galifianakis stars as The Joker; Michael Cera as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
