LEGO Ideas The Beatles Yellow Submarine 21306 Hits The Liverpool LEGO Store on October 29.

November 1 marks the global launch of the most recent LEGO Ideas set celebrating the legendary Beatles, and shop.LEGO.com has now listed the LEGO Ideas The Beatles Yellow Submarine (21306) just in time of its launch on Tuesday next week. In tribute to the band and their humble beginnings at their hometown of Liverpool, folks living in the area will have the opportunity to be one of the very first to own this one-of-a-kind LEGO set. On October 29, the LEGO Store in Liverpool will be offering the Yellow Submarine ahead of any other LEGO stores, with a chance to meet the set’s designer Kevin Szeto for a box signing from 11AM to 1PM. Check out the details of the event right here.

HasanJensen of the LEGO Ideas blog site also jumped into the celebration by sharing several images of John, Paul, George and Ringo in their minifigure forms as they take a trip down memory lane. From their favorite hangouts in Liverpool starting from the Cavern Club where all the iconic music began, to the famous red gates of Strawberry Field, where the band got their inspiration for the hit song Strawberry Fields Forever. Take a look at their escapades below.

LEGO NINJAGO Stone Armour Cole (5004393) Now Available at Toys R Us!

For those of you who are fans of NINJAGO and/or are fond of collecting polybags, you seem to be in luck due to these most recent reports.

Allegedly, the Stone Armour Cole set (5004393) is now available at Toys R Us, reportedly from the price of $7.99, with Canadian stores apparently giving the item away with $25+ purchases. This information comes according to The Brick Fan, who originally recieves this information from a reader.

As such, this is not 100% confirmed and could simply be an isolated incident (there’s been countless times that individual stores don’t follow nationwide promotions), but if this is a figure that interests you I’d imagine it’s still worth a look next chance you get.

LEGO Batman Movie Shows Off Batman’s Cool Rides.

Back in 2014, producer Chris Miller teased on the fact that the LEGO Batman Movie will virtually highlight every milestone in the superhero career of Bruce Wayne. “Rest assured that every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged,” says Miller. “There have been so many interpretations of Batman and there is so much to play with there. There are 40 versions of his origin story alone”. His ever loyal butler and suave critic, Alfred, know Wayne so well that he can emphatically recall Batman go through “similar” phases from 1966 to 2016. It is a nice way of saying that there will plenty of Easter eggs scattered generously throughout its 1 hour and 30 minutes of expected runtime.

lego-batman-movie-poster

And earlier today, Warner Bros. shared a new image of the Caped Crusader that reveals another Easter egg and this time focusing on the Dark Knight’s sweet rides. Entertainment news portal Collider shared this image and if you look closely in the background, you’ll see his past rides transformed into their brick-built creations.

lego-batman-movie-vehicles

In spite of its many renditions, the iconic Batmobile will never go out of style as you can see in its classic form on the right side of the image. There also seems to be a newer rendition of the Batjet, a hovercraft of some sorts, and a jet-powered tugboat. Heck, Batman seems to have his own version of every known vehicle on the face of the planet and LEGO is keen on making the most out of it. There is no official word yet if these vehicles will make their way into official LEGO sets, but it’s nice to think about it considering that there are still 12 sets waiting to be revealed as listed by Brickset. We already know of two Batman vehicles built around The LEGO Batman Movie: a speedboat as seen in Batcave Break-In (70909) and the newer Batmobile (70905).

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

Will Arnett reprises his starring role from “The LEGO Movie” as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (“Muppets Most Wanted,” the “Hangover” films) stars as The Joker; Michael Cera (TV’s “Arrested Development”) as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson (TV’s “Daredevil”) as Barbara Gordon; and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films) as Alfred.

“The LEGO® Batman Movie” will be directed by Chris McKay, and produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee, who worked together on “The LEGO Movie.” It is written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, with additional screenplay material by Jared Stern & John Whittington, based on LEGO Construction Toys. Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton and Will Allegra serve as executive producers.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Animation Group, in association with LEGO System A/S, a Lin Pictures / Lord Miller / Vertigo Entertainment production, “The LEGO Batman Movie” will open in theaters worldwide beginning February 10, 2017. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

LEGO Ideas Wall-E (21303) and Other Popular Sets Retiring Soon.

In case you’re eyeing for that LEGO Ideas Wall-E or UCS Star Wars Sandcrawler for quite some time already, you may want to make up your mind right away. LEGO’s online store has recently rolled out its next sets slated for retirement anytime soon. All regional sites of shop.LEGO.com, except that of North America as of this writing, have already updated their listing, and have tagged a handful of impressive sets that are retiring soon, including our personal favorite, Wall-E .

lego-retiring-sets

Though the US and Canada regional sites have not listed these sets yet, we can be pretty sure that they will be updated soon. Frankly, LEGO does not readily announce when a set will exactly be retired. We can only have a hint of its impending retirement once it is tagged as ‘Retiring Soon’. If that happens then we can only hope for LEGO to either come up with a sort of a rehash similar to what they did with the LEGO Star Wars Death Star 75159, or click your way through various exorbitant eBay offers. Alternatively, Amazon also offers these sets for sale for good measure – plus at great discounted prices. You may want to check out these links as well.

LEGO December Store Calendar Now Up – New LEGO Disney Moana Set Revealed!

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

There is something special with LEGO’s December Store Calendar. Before we hit theaters on November 23 to watch Disney’s latest Polynesian princess and her demigod companion, LEGO was kind enough to give us a glimpse on its latest set dedicated to the adventurous spirit of Moana. Tagged as LEGO Disney Moana on the High Seas (41150), the set features a mini-doll version of Moana, Maui in his big-fig form, Moana’s pet chicken HeiHei, and a raft.

41150-1

It’s interesting to note that Brickset has updated its database to include another LEGO Disney Moana Set named as Moana’s Island Adventure (41149). We can only surmise that since it is tagged as a ‘house’ this may probably refer to Moana’s island home village where we can see some of her relatives like Gramma Tala, and her parents Tui and Sina. I hope that LEGO has more sets slated for Disney’s Moana since the film itself has plenty of interesting scenes that  will be pretty cool rendered in LEGO bricks – imagine a band  of crazy, coconut-armored Kakamora in their colorful minifig versions aboard their pirate ship. Well, we can always hope.

Here’s the December LEGO Store Calendar, followed by a breakdown of all its key highlights. Click on the images for a closer look.

Other than the LEGO Disney Moana on the High Seas (41150), the LEGO December Store calendar has also officially included the latest LEGO Batman Movie Batcave Break-In set (70909) and the DC Superhero Girls Superhero High School (41232). This could mean that we might see more reveals anytime soon or before the year ends.

So what do you think of LEGO’s rendition of Moana and her high sea adventure? What do you think is best part of LEGO’s December Store Calendar? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Try To Build Your Own LEGO Nexo Knight Monster Using This Guide!

A couple of days ago, BlackFridayads.net has shared the entire Toys R Us Toy Book for 2016, and if you take a second look at their LEGO Nexo Knight page, you’ll notice their next in-store promotional slated for November 12 at all TRU stores nationwide. Children ages 6 and up may build and take home an exclusive LEGO Nexo Knight monster for FREE. The caveat though, is that it is only available from 12 to 2PM or while supplies last. Nevertheless, it’s a fun way to earn your free LEGO. Though November 12 is still a few weeks away before we can relish on this free exclusive, you may want to give it a try and see if you can build one of your own.

Thanks to German LEGO fan site Promobricks, we now have a copy of the building instructions for the LEGO Nexo Knight Monster. It seems that TRU stores in Germany had an early run of this promotional. Promobricks gives us an idea not just how this LEGO TRU exclusive may look like, but also its decent looking building instructions.

lego-toysrus-monster2 lego-toysrus-nexo-monster-inventory lego-toysrus-monster3 lego-toysrus-monster4

It’s nice to see how TRU took the extra mile of publishing the instructions following a booklet format, rather than the usual single page spread that comes with other LEGO promotionals. Coming in at 58 pieces, the LEGO Nexo Knight Monster looks like Burnzie’s smaller, brick-built cousin. Here’s how the build looks like courtesy of Promobricks.

I personally like the black and red color scheme on this one and the clever rendition of its mean-looking hammer. If you find this freebie worth the catch, be sure to mark November12 on your calendars and don’t forget to pay a visit at your local TRU store from 12PM to 2PM. What do you think of this promotional? WATCH: LEGO Skateboard Part 2 – Will It Last Longer This Time?

Last August, we saw an ambitious plan of creating a functional LEGO skateboard that can stand up to the gruelling test of skateboard aficionado Aaron Kyro of Braille Skateboarding. Frankly speaking, the idea was a bit of a disaster waiting to happen – quite literally, as far as Timmy Joe’s LEGO skateboard MOC is concerned. If you’re a LEGO fan at heart, you can’t help but recoil at the thought of this kind of destruction on hours of meticulous work. Nevertheless, Timmy is very clear with his intention: he wants to see if a LEGO skateboard can live up to its purpose. Well, we know already how the story turned out.

Just recently, in a bid to show how a fully-functional, brick-built skateboard can still be realized, another brave soul came up with his own creation, and this time focusing more on strength rather than aesthetics. Peter Brown from the Shop Time YouTube channel demonstrated how LEGO bricks can be exponentially strengthened using super strong resin. I could just imagine the grin on Lord Business’ face at the sight of all those Kragle. Using $200 worth of LEGO bricks and plates (six 10×10 inch base plates, and 250 bricks actually) plus 20 ounce of resin, Peter is all set to send his ‘absurd implement’ to the testing grounds of Braille Skateboarding, the only question is will it last. Watch what happens below.

The result is less cringing to watch compared to the first one. Lasting significantly longer, Peter Brown’s creation is definitely more durable due to the insane amount of resin that he applied on this MOC. It is also made of 100% LEGO, without any additional materials used other than resin. Take a look on how Peter came up with this second iteration of a LEGO skateboard.

Well, I guess there are things are not really meant to be created out of LEGO. News on the street is that Timmy Joe just bought a fresh, new pile of LEGO bricks and is determined to come up with a bullet proof LEGO skateboard to ‘vindicate’ himself. It makes you wonder what they will come up with next.
