Over the last few days, a few images have been released by Lego, showing multiple mini figures (such as WyldStyle, Gandalf and Batman) in front of a blue portal with the hashtag #BreakTheRules. We had no idea what this meant…until now.
Earlier today, an official announcement regarding this has been released, saying that these images were regarding a new game to be released on September 27th : LEGO Dimensions!
The game will be similar to that of popular titles such as Skylanders, where minifigures are placed on to some sort of interactive plate, causing a virtual version of said minifigure to appear in-game. The starter pack will feature a buildable portal along with a Batmobile mini build, Batman, Wyldstyle and Gandalf figures. Additional packs containing Ninjago, Back To The Future, Lord Of The Rings and The Wizard Of Oz characters will be sold separately.
Fun Packs will include a figure and a vehicle, a Team Pack contains 2 figures and their vehicles and a Level Pack contains a figure, a vehicle and an additional level.
You can pre order all of them over on Amazon, here for the UK and here for the USA.
What do you think of these new sets? I for one think the idea is great, but not at those prices! since these games are gonna be aimed at TFOLS and kids, I can tell you no one will want to spend that much!
I understand that most of those who normally stumble upon these articles and either across the pond in the USA or deeper into Europe, but since the UK is second only to the US in terms of views on the site, I’d say that this still warrants an article.
Today, I was looking for a few bits on Amazon UK, and stumbled upon something remarkable ; 3 Age of Ultron sets are already on sale below the retail price, not even two months after being released. They were selling rather well before this too, so there seems to be no logical reason for it in terms of getting rid of stock.
My speculation is that with the film coming out Aprl 23rd over here, Amazon knows they will sell tons of these sets. As such, they want people to buy these sets via them instead of LEGO Shop, and will lower the prices by a few pounds to make themselves that little bit more appealing. And it must be working because I’m stocking up on them!
So, this news actually came out yesterday, but I was unavailable to post it…But I’m here now! So, here in a not-so Brick Show Exclusive, we now have the official Kwik-E Mart and Series 2 Simpsons Collectible Mini-figures set images…try saying that 3 times fast. But I digress. Your not here to listen to me (or read) so how about I just get straight into it with these photos?
I tried searching for these on the US site but nothing showed up, but it appears that on the UK site of Amazon, we get all but the Hydra Fortress available…which is fantastic for me! They may well be on the US site too though, so don’t necessarily take my word for it. For UK shoppers, visit This Page, and then in the “Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed…” bit, you should see the other sets as well. They do appear to have the Prime logo visible, indicating that Prime can be used to get very short delivery times. Get ’em quick!
Recently, LEGO officially announced the next Ideas sets. Yes, sets; plural. The most recent review has decided to give us two sets from the review stage for later this year. Which was nice of them.
For all you Disney fans out there, you’ll be glad to know that one of these sets is going to be WALL-E (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/52042), which is great for those who want a set of the lovable robot, but not so great for us here at The Brick Show, as no-one is gonna want to buy our custom STUD-E figure anymore….
But wait, that is not all…Doctor Who fans rejoice! We will also be getting a Doctor Who set (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/59181) which is awesome, especially for me given that I am a Whovian. It looks from the pictures of the fan submitted set that we will be getting a TARDIS, a Dalek, a Weeping Angel and a Cyberman. The picture shows Tennant’s Doctor, but LEGO may update this to Capaldi. Also, for a little display stand, we might be getting Tom Baker…how odd.
A day ago, Jason posted a video ( Linked here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxvtG32BTmk ) on to The Brick Show regarding some leaked 2015 set images from a German Toy Fair, before the New York Toy Fair which the guys will be going to, and will hopefully be able to get some better, higher resolution photographs for us to see.
Back on topic, some more images have been leaked! Which is great news! The images seem to be rather good quality for the most part, albeit the Minecraft sets, which are taken from a distance. Other than that, the sets look quite convincing.
Which of the new 2015 set themes look the best to you? Comment down below to let us know! (I’ll post the latest pictures here, watch Jason’s video to view the photos from yesterday).
