Here’s A Look At The Official Images Of LEGO’s Exclusive July Promotional – The Classic Knights Set 5004419.

5004419_01

We have another reason to be excited this month of July, especially after LEGO published its July Store Calendar.  Starting June 30 until July 10, LEGO VIP members will be treated to an exclusive promotional for purchases of any LEGO sets worth $50 and above. This is one exclusive that is expected to run out fast since it is quite rare that LEGO releases some of its classic collections, similar to their previous Classic Spaceman Minifigure (5002812) promotional back in 2014, and the Classic Pirate Minifigure in 2015.

This year, LEGO brings back another classic, coming straight from the medieval times – the LEGO Classic Knights Set 5004419. LEGO has uploaded the official images for this retro-themed set at cache.LEGO.com, which gives us a closer look at this impressive promotional. The box itself is exquisitely impressive that it is good enough to be a collectible. It even pays tribute to the older LEGO System by adding a touch of nostalgia with its box design and logo.

5004419_02

5004419 comes with a Classic Knight minifigure reminiscent from the early 80’s as you can see from the free collectible stickers that comes bundled with it.

5004419_04 5004419_03

For a promotional price point of $50, this is one extremely good catch considering the many exclusives that LEGO will be releasing starting this month like the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto 1 & Ecto 2 (75828) and the LEGO Creator Big Ben (10253) just to name a few. You may also check out on Stephen reviews of the 75828 and 10253 over at our YouTube channel.

So what do you think of this month LEGO Store promotional? Let’s talk about it in the comments section below.

More 2017 LEGO Mighty Micros Revealed!

Two days ago, LEGO gave us a glimpse of their 2017 DC Superheroes Mighty Micros, expected to debut at the San Diego Comic-Con this month. Hot off the trail from this reveal, LEGO has just posted via their Facebook page a variant to their miniaturized, adorable creations.  We now have our first glimpse of LEGO’s Marvel Superheroes Mighty Micros line. Though LEGO has not yet provided the official names of these three pairs, guessing what they might be called based on these images, is a no-brainer.

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FLEGO%2Fposts%2F10153799189443403&width=500
Spider-Man VS The Scorpion

Wolverine VS Magneto

Iron Man VS Thanos

iron man vs thanos

It’s kind of cute to see how LEGO was able to pattern these Mighty Micros vehicles similar to the color and personality of the superheroes/villains that ride them. Personally, I like how Magneto’s ride was built, highlighting the U-shape magnet on his car. The same goes for Thanos and his obsession to take hold of what’s known as the Infinity Gauntlet.

Similar to their DC counterparts, LEGO will showcase these sets at SDCC 2016 from July 21 to 24. However, they will be made available to the public by January next year retailing at $9.99. It seems that LEGO will have something under its sleeve, with more sets to be revealed as they walk the road leading to this year’s San Diego Comic Con. So be sure to bookmark our site for more LEGO news update only here at the Brick Show!

LEGO Unveils Its New Line Of DC Comics Superheroes Mighty Micros Sets For 2017 Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.

2017 might micros_02 2017 might micros_03

LEGO just recently announced via its Facebook page that we’ll be seeing more of its adorable chibi-sized LEGO Mighty Micros just in time for another great set of reveals at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) next month.

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FLEGO%2Fposts%2F10153795064888403&width=500

LEGO is known for featuring new sets and memorabilia during the said annual comic convention, and this time, excitement is building on what LEGO will unveil at the San Diego Convention Center come by July 21 to 24. Featuring the cute and miniaturized versions of our iconic DC superheroes together with their arch enemies, LEGO is expected to feature each of them during the SDCC. However, it is wise to keep our hands to ourselves since these LEGO Mighty Micros will not be available in the market until its launch day sometime next year. This confirms that LEGO has more in store for us with the Mighty Micros theme until 2017, and more so  under the DC Super Heroes banner.

Retailing next year at $9.99 each, these Mighty Micros feature classics such as Batman and Killer Moth, Wonder Woman VS Doomsday, and Superman VS Bizaaro as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.  Batman is featured in his classic caped crusader outfit together with the retro Batcopter, as he squares off with Killer Moth’s bug mobile. LEGO’s clever use of clear, transparent bricks outlines Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet as she faces the might of Doomsday. Finally, Superman battles his bizarre doppelganger, Bizarro, who now happens to be made available in a set rather than as a SDCC exclusive.

Inside-Tour

The last tour of this year’s famed LEGO Inside Tour has been finally concluded, and with it comes the exciting reveal of this year’s exclusive set that will leave its mark in the annals of LEGO history. Being a unique LEGO experience on its own held at the company’s headquarters in Billund, Denmark, the 2-day LEGO Inside Tour allows guests – 140 in all, divided into four groups – to see for themselves how LEGO bricks are made, to chat with top notch set designers, and to have an exclusive tour of the Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s original house and relive the humble beginnings of the most valued toy company in the world. You’ll also be delighted to know that LEGO managed to preserve their previous sets that they keep in their astounding vault.

Here’s what TLG has to say about the LEGO Inside Tour.

What is LEGO Inside Tour?

LEGO Inside Tour provides a unique look into the LEGO Group often referred to as ‘a once–in-a-lifetime experience’. You are invited inside Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s original house, featuring an extraordinary exhibition of LEGO sets and models that date back to 1934. You will meet LEGO employees and especially LEGO designers, who will introduce you to their daily work at the LEGO Group, and you will take part in a unique building experience together with LEGO designers. Part of the LEGO Inside Tour consists of a factory tour, where you can see how LEGO bricks are produced. LEGO Inside Tour also stops at the LEGO staff shop.

At the end of the tour, you will receive a unique gift exclusively produced in close cooperation with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen especially for this year’s LEGO Inside Tour participants.

The LEGO Group’s headquarters are based in Billund, Denmark, and here the LEGO Inside Tour will take place. Starting point of the 2-day tour is Hotel LEGOLAND®

So before we dive in to see the details of this year’s exclusive set, it is necessary to have a proper, insider perspective about the LEGO Inside Tour experience and to have a better appreciation of it. We’re fortunate to stumble upon an excellent piece written by Ms. Sophie of LCC Builders where she shared her once-in-a-lifetime experience of being a part of the LEGO Inside Tour. Be sure to check out her story right here.

This year’s LEGO Inside Tour is dedicated to the world’s largest and most beautiful LEGO truck ever made – the LEGO Truck Show (4000022). Thanks to Ms. Sophie for sharing these pictures of the LEGO Truck Show. Take a look.

Check Out This LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Minifigure Display Frame

lego-super-heroes-marvel-avengers-minifigure-frame-box-front-2016-zusammengebaut-andres-lehmann-945x923

Zusammengebaut shares another great find at LEGOLAND Billund for all minifigure collectors and connoisseurs out there. So far, we have not known LEGO to be keen with regards to creating minifigure displays and storage systems that are specifically built around a particular theme. The ones that LEGO are currently offering are sort of the generic, stackable minifigure cases that can either be found at shop.LEGO.com or at Amazon, plus they tend to take a lot of space.

This time around, LEGO offers another minifigure display and storage solution with a particular emphasis on a certain theme, or to be more exact for your LEGO Super Heroes minifigs. Reported to be found at LEGOLAND Billund, this LEGO display frame comes in 46 pieces, consisting primarily of a 32×32 studs gray baseplate, several angular plates (1.5 Bot. 1X2 2/2) plates with bow (2X2X2/3), and 2×2 plates similar to the ones you see below (images courtesy of Brickset).

6061048_Base Plate 32X32 4654580_Angular Plate 1.5 Bot 1X2 22 6102357_Plate W. Bow 2X2X23 4114003

You can place more minifigures on to it as long as you have the similar pieces mentioned above. It may be a very simple build, but the way it is mounted on a frame that is specifically made for the Super Heroes theme is quite a good concept. Like other frames, you can either hang it on a wall or place it standing on a shelf or desk. Take a look at these images.

lego-super-heroes-marvel-avengers-minifigure-frame-box-front-2016-zusammengebaut-andres-lehmann-945x923 lego-super-heroes-marvel-avengers-minifigure-frame-box-back-2016-zusammengebaut-andres-lehmann

It’s nice of LEGO to come up with such ideas. It is reminiscent of Nintendo’s pitch of having display dioramas for its amiibo figures. We hope to see more future releases designed for other themes such as LEGO Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and Star Wars, or perhaps a DIY kit where you’re free to come up with your own customized frame of any particular size according to your fancy and need. That will surely put a new and exciting play experience for your LEGO minifigures. What do you think?

LEGO Creator Big Ben 10253 Officially Revealed – Images, Pricing, Release Date

10253_Box3_in

If you recall several weeks ago, we posted our take on some of the most anticipated LEGO Creator sets that are yet to be revealed in 2016. Among the three that we mentioned (including the LEGO Volkswagen Beetle 10252 and the holiday themed LEGO Creator Winter Train 10254), it is probably the LEGO Creator Big Ben 10253 that is highly anticipated. For one thing, it is gorgeously huge with more than 4,000 pieces, making it the third largest advanced model that LEGO has come up with.

To commemorate the 157th year anniversary of the famous British landmark, LEGO has just released this massive set in honor of good ‘ol Big Ben. In a ceremonial-like unveiling which is set at exactly at 3PM (UK time) of May 19, the reveal is also accompanied by the LEGO Group’s announcement of their newest flagship store in London which will open later this year.

Here’s the official press release from the LEGO Group, followed by official images of this set.

10253 Big Ben

Ages 16+.  4,163 pieces.

US $249.99 – CA $299.99 – DE 219.99€ – UK £169.99 – DK 1999.00 DKK

*Euro pricing varies by country.  Please visit shop.LEGO.com for regional pricing.

Build the world’s best-known clock tower!

Get up close to Big Ben! The clock was first started on May 31st 1859, and Big Ben’s first chime rang from the 96-meter Elizabeth Tower on July 11th of the same year. This over 23” (60cm) high LEGO® interpretation of the iconic structure is a tribute to its engineering and architecture. It features a detailed facade with statues, shields and windows, and a clock tower with 4 adjustable clock dials and a removable roof allowing access to the belfry, plus buildable exterior elements including a sidewalk, lawn and a tree depicting the building’s location. This model makes a great display piece for the home or office.

• Big Ben features a detailed section of the Westminster Palace and the adjoining Elizabeth Tower, 4 detailed clock dials with movable hour and minutes hands, and a sidewalk, tree and grass area depicting the building’s location.

• Remove the top of the tower to access the Big Ben bell.

• Put your LEGO® building skills to the test!

• Special elements include 4 printed clock faces.

• Rare elements include ski poles, flowers and corner plates in molded gold color, and tinted-translucent elements.

• This set includes over 4,000 LEGO® pieces.

• This set offers an age-appropriate building experience for ages 16+.

• Big Ben measures over 23” (60cm) high, 17” (44cm) wide and 7” (20cm) deep.

At almost two feet high, the LEGO Creator Big Ben is imposing to say the least. It demands your attention just by the sheer size of it. Removing the top portion of the tower reveals an impressive clock work that is fully functional, complete with movable hour hand and minutes. Adding value to this set are the special and rare elements that come along with it, especially the printed clock faces. LEGO’s choice of using microfigs for the statues is really clever. This is one set that perfectly goes together with the LEGO Tower Bridge 10214. Throw in some pieces from LEGO City’s Fun In The Park – City People Pack 60134 and you have a more scenic recreation of the famous landmark.

There is so much to say about this set, but I have to refer this to Jason and Stephen’s expertise once they get their hands on the LEGO Big Ben.

VIP Early Access for the LEGO Creator Big Ben 10253 will start on June 15 via shop.LEGO.com, followed by its launch date on July 1.
