LEGO Marvel Superheroes Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum 76060 Found Over At Target.

August is now officially here, and with it comes a slew of new and exciting LEGO sets that we’re raring to have our hands on. There is one particular set that keeps on intriguing us, though. The LEGO Marvel Superheroes Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum (76060) is already up over at shop.lego.com, however, it is a little bit ‘strange’ when such a set becomes another store exclusive. We received information that 76060 is a Target exclusive, both available online and at local Target stores retailing at $29.99. The image below was taken by Stephen himself directly from his cart when he purchased the set over at Target.

Stephen intended to purchase this set directly from the LEGO Store, however, he was informed that it is a Target exclusive as of the moment. Now we’re not quite sure until when the Sanctum Sanctorum will be available over at Target. Assuming that this will be a highly sought after set considering that this is an early teaser of some sort before the film hits theaters on November 4,  it is wise to consider getting this early on.

Here is LEGO’s official description of the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum (76060), followed by a closer look at the set and the cool minifigs that goes along with it. Be sure to stay tuned at our official YouTube channel as Stephen and Jason explore and review the play features of this set.

WATCH: Stephen Reviews the LEGO Creator Volkswagen (10252).

10252_Box1_v39

Starting tomorrow, LEGO VIP members can now get their hands on LEGO’s latest offering that celebrates one of the most iconic vehicles of all time: the LEGO Creator Volkswagen Beetle (10252). Ahead of its public offering, Stephen gives us a tour on the finer details of this set which comes at 1,167 predominantly dark azure pieces. If you missed out on the hi-resolution, close up images of the 10252 from our last month’s report, you might want to check out its photos right here.

Watch the video below highlighting Stephen’s review of the LEGO Creator Volkswagen Beetle including some of its nice play features.

The dark azure color motif of the 10252 is visually appealing, complemented by its nicely detailed interior and exquisitely curved design. Highly popular in the 60s, the Volkswagen Beetle was an icon for the surf-loving crowd. LEGO recreates that nostalgic feeling of the great surfin’ life back in the day as accentuated by its accessories such as a cooler with all of the nice contents inside, a beach towel, and a yellow and white surf board.

10252_Prod

Other than its play features, the LEGO Creator Volkswagen Beetle also boasts of a unique LEGO element which is introduced for the first time in this set. As pointed out by Brickset, this brand new piece is a ¼ circle piece used for the Beetle’s fenders and wheel arches. It has an official name of ¼ ARCH BRICK 5X5 W/ CUT OUT and comes in a dark azure color. Take a look at the photo below courtesy of Brickset.

24599_00 24599_01

Other than this new element, 10252 is also one of those rare LEGO sets that use a predominantly dark azure color scheme. In fact, as much as 30% of the set is made up of this color, as pointed out by Mike Psiaki – the designer behind 10252. The current LEGO rendition of the Volkswagen is also much different from an earlier version back in 2008 with the LEGO Volkswagen 10187. The previous version was a little rough and jagged in its design unlike the more recent take of 10252 that features a Studs-Not-On-Top (SNOT) approach in building, giving it a smoother, sleeker, more curvaceous look. Just compare these pictures below, with the 10252 on the right, and its older cousin the 10187 on the left.

Here’s A Look At The Official Images Of LEGO’s Exclusive July Promotional – The Classic Knights Set 5004419.

5004419_01

We have another reason to be excited this month of July, especially after LEGO published its July Store Calendar.  Starting June 30 until July 10, LEGO VIP members will be treated to an exclusive promotional for purchases of any LEGO sets worth $50 and above. This is one exclusive that is expected to run out fast since it is quite rare that LEGO releases some of its classic collections, similar to their previous Classic Spaceman Minifigure (5002812) promotional back in 2014, and the Classic Pirate Minifigure in 2015.

This year, LEGO brings back another classic, coming straight from the medieval times – the LEGO Classic Knights Set 5004419. LEGO has uploaded the official images for this retro-themed set at cache.LEGO.com, which gives us a closer look at this impressive promotional. The box itself is exquisitely impressive that it is good enough to be a collectible. It even pays tribute to the older LEGO System by adding a touch of nostalgia with its box design and logo.

5004419_02

5004419 comes with a Classic Knight minifigure reminiscent from the early 80’s as you can see from the free collectible stickers that comes bundled with it.

5004419_04 5004419_03

For a promotional price point of $50, this is one extremely good catch considering the many exclusives that LEGO will be releasing starting this month like the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto 1 & Ecto 2 (75828) and the LEGO Creator Big Ben (10253) just to name a few. You may also check out on Stephen reviews of the 75828 and 10253 over at our YouTube channel.

So what do you think of this month LEGO Store promotional? Let’s talk about it in the comments section below.

LEGO Opens World’s Largest Flagship Store in Shanghai, China

Last Wednesday marked the opening of the world’s largest LEGO store in Shanghai Disney Resort in China with the hope of attracting more customers once the Disney theme park opens in June. According to LEGO Shanghai store’s General Manager Jacob Kragh, China had been one of the best performing markets last year that saw an increase of more than 30% of sales in LEGO products. LEGO’s presence is keenly felt in this part of China, especially considering that the company has plans of setting up its first factory in Jiaxing, which is expected to be operational by 2017 employing 2,000 personnel. Construction of the factory has already begun since 2014.

The massive two-storey, 1,000 square-meter Lego store features models ranging from a giant dragon, well-known Disney and Marvel characters, and the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. Here’s a look at some of the sights in and around the world’s largest LEGO Store courtesy of Reuters and China News.

A lion dance performance is carried out during the opening ceremony for a Lego store, the company's largest retail store in the world, near the Shanghai Disney Resort in Shanghai Tourists visit a Lego store during its opening ceremony, the company's largest retail store in the world, near the Shanghai Disney Resort in Shanghai Tourists take pictures at a Lego store during its opening ceremony, the company's largest retail store in the world, near the Shanghai Disney Resort in Shanghai People visit a Lego store during its opening ceremony, the company's largest retail store in the world, near the Shanghai Disney Resort in Shanghai A boy plays at a Lego store during its opening ceremony, the company's largest retail store in the world, near the Shanghai Disney Resort in Shanghai

Considering the amount of attention LEGO is giving to the Chinese market, it will not take long before we see other LEGO Stores setup in the country. This might be a good way of counteracting the selling and distribution of certain Chinese-made, LEGO-like knock-offs, especially if LEGO can lower the costs of their sets within the area. Here’s a look of some of the promotions as seen from the store’s May and June calendar, as uploaded by a local LEGO Store visitor Capitalism Village (I hope Google Translate got this right).

LEGO p1 LEGO p2 LEGO p3 LEGO p4 LEGO p5 LEGO p6 LEGO p7 LEGO p8

The store’s calendar didn’t hold back in its promotion, featuring some of the larger sets that LEGO has just released recently, including this year’s LEGO Star Wars UCS Attack on Hoth (75098), 2015’s LEGO Star Wars UCS Tie Fighter (75095), and  Imperial Assault Carrier (75106). It also featured sets from different names such as the DC Comics Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052), Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu (70751), and Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827). There’s also a promotion for what seems to be some Nexo Knights and Friends polybags, plus a corner for the LEGO Nexo Knights Merlok 2.0 app.
