LEGO Ninjago Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) Official Images Spotted in TRU Japan’s Website.

We already have confirmation (and official images) of Wave 2 sets of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, slated to be available just in time for the holidays. This time around, we get a closer look at another set joining the 2nd wave of TLNM builds. Making its debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con last July, the LEGO Ninjago  Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!  (70656) does not necessarily refers to the evil tyrant himself, but to the shark mech that he used against Ninjago City. It is also a play on words and a humorous reference to Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (70816) from The LEGO Movie back in 2014.

The LEGO Ninjago  Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!  (70656) set is expected to be a Toys R Us exclusive, coming in at 830 pieces and retailing for $79.99. Though the set is expected to be available in the US starting December 1, TRU Japan’s website seems to be having an earlier promotion. 70656’s official images are now available online, with TRU Japan listing it to be available in the region starting November 3. Check these out.

Based on these images, and similar to the rest of the builds under the TLNM theme, the LEGO Ninjago  Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!  (70656) is a scaled down version of the actual flying mech used by Garmadon in the film, though it still managed to retain its original design and particularly oversized feet.  The set also features a hotdog stand which offers a lot of potential builds for City MOCs and other similar creations. Finally, garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) also offers six (6) minifigures namely, Garmadon, Lloyd, two (2) Shark Army soldiers, a Hot Dog Guy (which is basically a remake of the Hot Dog Man from LEGO CMF Series 13), and a girl with braces.

Here’s A Wrap-Up of All Things LEGO at NYCC 2017

Last week’s New York Comic Con 2017 may all be over, but the waves of LEGO-related announcements released during the fan convention just kept on lingering. Unlike last year’s New York Comic Con, where LEGO introduced new sets such those coming from the DC Super Hero Girls theme, additional LEGO Batman Movie sets, and an exclusive Batgirl mini-doll raffle giveaway, this year was, well… a bit uninspiring. There were no new themes or full LEGO sets that were announced, but more of what to expect from the LEGO BrickHeadz line. Needless to say, this year’s LEGO reveals were pretty nice in themselves so here’s a wrap-up of everything that LEGO has revealed or announced during the said annual fan convention.

First off, we have the obvious emphasis on one of LEGO’s brick-built, pop-styled themes – the LEGO BrickHeadz. Love or hate them, top brass from The LEGO Group made the call, nonetheless, of having two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars saga as this year’s prized LEGO NYCC exclusive and giving them the LEGO BrickHeadz flavor. This year’s NYCC saw a handful of fortunate LEGO fans bringing home their very own and exclusively numbered, LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite (41498). Straight from the classic Star Wars saga, this exclusive BrickHeadz set comes in at 329 pieces and is the largest BrickHeadz set to be offered so far.

Hot on the heels of this exclusive LEGO set is also the announcement of more LEGO BrickHeadz in 2018. Specifically timed with the theatrical releases of some of the most highly anticipated super hero films, these BrickHeadz feature a new line of sets based on characters from the Justice League, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Avengers: Infinity War. This gives the relatively new line of LEGO theme a total number of 29 collectible sets to eye on, excluding those that were exclusively offered during Comic Cons.

Next, we have more cool announcements coming from the good ‘ol folks of Warner Bros Interactive and TT Games. Also revealed during one of the NYCC panels, TT Games brought to stage several cool updates about the much awaited LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. TT Games Head of Design, Arthur Parsons, revealed what fans can expect from the game’s Season Pass, which offers six Level Packs and four Character Packs boosting the overall number of playable LEGO Marvel characters to up to more than 260 characters.

Finally, it was also revealed at NYCC that the Black Panther will have his very own LEGO movie entitled Trouble in Wakanda. It seems that T’Challa will be getting a lot of screen time – not only with his own stand-alone and self-titled MCU film set to be released in February and the Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 in May, we can now also expect him starring in his own LEGO film.

Black Panther
black panther trouble in wakanda

Details about Trouble in Wakanda are scant as of the moment, and we don’t have any details of its plot or release date. What we do know is that LEGO seems to be focusing a lot of attention on a single, Marvel character since this is the very first solo superhero movie that they ever made. We do have a lot of superhero, brick-built movies before, but this is the very first film that is dedicated to a single character. Will this be a start of something like a series of stand-alone LEGO superhero films in the future, following the methods of both MCU and DCEU? We just have to wait and see.

It is also not far-fetched to consider that this might be another direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray film unlike its big production movies such as The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie, and the more recent, LEGO Ninjago Movie. My best guess is that it will be released alongside its theatrical MCU counterpart, the Black Panther, and may also come with an exclusive, free LEGO minifigure which of course will definitely drive sales of Trouble in Wakanda.

What LEGO NYCC announcement were you most excited about? For one, I’m looking forward to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 and I’m sure our resident gaming guru, Brick Show Brian, already has his sights locked into playing and giving you a walk-through of this game. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Full Gaming Experience Will Come Unaltered in Nintendo Switch.

Good news for all Nintendo Switch owners! If you’re looking forward to having a copy of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 for the Nintendo Switch, then you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll get the whole nine yards in the Switch, as much as in any other consoles. This is the promise given by Arthur Parsons, TT Games’ Head of Design during one of his interviews at last week’s New York Comic Con.

LMSH2 all

Speaking about the game’s availability via the Nintendo Switch platform, Parsons gave the assurance that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 gaming experience and content will all be the same regardless of gaming platform or console. Most, if not all, of LEGO’s previous video games are known for being noticeably reduced in content for Nintendo releases – whether it be less characters, the absence of DLCs, or a shorter story mode. However, this time around, Parson emphasized that the Switch’s version will never miss a heartbeat in delivering the game’s vast open world and massive collection of playable Marvel characters. In fact, the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 co-op experience will be quite unique in the Nintendo Switch due to its split screen Joy-Con play. Here’s Fansided with their interview with Parsons.

LMSH2 Switch box art

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a game entirely for the fans. Parsons spoke a bit about what the game will look like on Switch. Previous Lego titles were often heavily altered before releasing on a Nintendo console. This manifested in different ways: possibly fewer characters, a lack of DLC, or even an abbreviated campaign mode. Luckily, none of those will be the case this time around. Parsons assured me when Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 releases on Switch, it will be the exact same game as what’s released on PS4 and Xbox One. Absolutely no changes will be made, and the season pass will be available in its entirety.  The game will also feature split Joy-Con support throughout the game, including the arena and story modes.

The game’s newest story trailer has been released already, with the promise of more exclusive content when you pre-order its Deluxe Edition. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be released on November 14 and will be available across major gaming platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Story Trailer Reveals Cosmo’s Call to Arms.

Warner Bros Interactive has just released some interesting back story behind the highly anticipated LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. The newest story trailer has just rolled out a few moments ago and in typical LEGO wackiness, shows how Knowhere’s canine Head of Security – Cosmo the Spacedog – telepathically rallied Marvel’s superheroes to unite against the schemes of the game’s time-traveling villain, Kang the Conqueror.

Cosmo

First shown to audiences at last week’s New York Comic Con, the trailer also highlights an interesting storyline that hints on how Kang may eventually defeated. It mentions several powerful crystals (much like to the idea behind the Infinity Stones) that can be found all over Chronopolis. The story trailer seems to suggest that in order to defeat Kang, players will go through several missions to gather the crystals and to use them against him to thwart his evil plans. Here’s the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 official story trailer with additional info on what to expect from the game once it becomes available on November 14.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released a NEW trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, diving deeper into the original branching storyline featured in this all-new LEGO adventure. Recently debuted at New York Comic Con, the video stars lovable canine, Cosmo the Spacedog – telepathic Soviet cosmonaut, Knowhere’s chief of security and ally to the Guardians of the Galaxy – who is tasked with alerting and assembling an elite team of Super Heroes to take on the time-travelling Super Villain, Kang the Conqueror. Kang has stolen numerous Marvel cities and locations from across time and space to form the expansive Open Hub World of Chronopolis, in hopes to take over the universe. As a result, Cosmo’s call to action brings together a diverse group of Marvel Super Heroes from different time periods and realities – including Star-Lord, Thor, Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Hulk, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Rocket Raccoon, Iron Man, Cowboy Captain America, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Groot and many more – who must all band together to foil Kang’s diabolical plans.

If you’re excited as much as we are in trying this game, then you may want to pre-order its Deluxe Edition which gives you access to the game’s Season Pass, loaded with additional content and characters lifted from upcoming MCU films and series such as the Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and many more.

LMSH2 promo

Other than the Classic GOTG Character Packs, pre-ordering the Deluxe edition of the game also entitles you to additional content coming from some of Marvel’s comic book series such as Agents of Atlas, Out of Time, and Champions boosting its roster of playable characters to as many as 260+ characters. It will also include several exclusives such as a comic art poster and a free Giant Man minifigure. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is slated to hit stores on November 14, 2017.

More LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Characters Plus Season Pass Revealed!

TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive took to the NYCC stage their latest reveal of Marvel characters getting the LEGO treatment in the much awaited video game sequel, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Not missing on this annual comic book fan convention, TT Games’ Arthur Parsons and Marvel’s Bill Rosemann took the opportunity of announcing a ton of new Marvel characters that will make their debut as playable, LEGO minifigures in the highly anticipated video game. The New York Comic Con panel presentation also placed the spotlight on what LEGO Marvel fans can expect from the game’s Season Pass.

It is interesting to note that the game’s Season Pass pays homage to new and upcoming MCU films and series through its six (6) Level Packs which include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and soon to be released Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and upcoming series Cloak and Dagger and Runaways. The schedule of release for these DLCs is still yet to be announced and it’s interesting to see how this additional content will tie up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline.

LMSH2 Season Pass

The Season Pass also offers four (4) Character Packs, including Agents of Atlas, Out of Time, Champions, and the Classic Guardians of the Galaxy, giving LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 a whooping 260+ Marvel comic book and MCU characters all at your disposal. The folks over at TT Games went the extra mile when they painstakingly included nice background info (such as their profiles and first comic book appearance) on each of these 260+ characters which players can access during the game.

Character Cards

Speaking of characters, Parsons and Rosemann also took the opportunity to tease a handful of new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 characters that will make their way into the game once it’s released to the public on November 14. Check out the screen grabs below. Thanks to Collider for providing the live stream with these awesome people of TT Games and Marvel, and to Brick Fanz for polishing the screen grabs.

New LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Revealed and Other Similar Sets Slated for 2018.

This year’s New York Comic Con is now on its last leg, and with it comes a reveal of a handful of new LEGO sets scheduled for release in January and April next year. The news surfaced when the good ‘ol folks from Jedi News were able to snap some photos of the LEGO BrickHeadz truck used to distribute the NYCC exclusive, LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite (41498). On display was a pretty neat poster hinting on 12 new BrickHeadz, all slated for release in 2018. Expected to be available in January and April, these new collectibles are all based on upcoming films such as the Justice League (#21-#24), Star Wars The Last Jedi and presumably from the Han Solo Anthology (#25, #26. #39, #40), and Avengers: Infinity War (#35-#38).

We don’t have any official word yet on what the DCEU and MCU-based BrickHeadz will be, but Brickset has updated its database to include Rey #25 (41602) and Kylo Ren #26 (41603) as they are seen from The Last Jedi. Rumor also has it that sets 41608 and 41609 will be that of Han Solo #39 and Chewbacca #49 respectively. Leaked images of the Rey and Kylo Ren BrickHeadz are now making their round online, and I trust you know the  way if you really wanted to see these.

blurred 41602 41603

There are also some speculations floating around about what the rest of the 2018 BrickHeadz will be. Based on their silhouettes, it is not far-fetched to consider that the Justice Lague BrickHeadz will be that of The Flash (#21), Wonder Woman (#22), Aquaman (#23 – the trident is a no-brainer, giveaway), and Cyborg (#24). Those BrickHeadz from the Avengers: Infinity War series is a little bit tricky to decipher, save perhaps from Starlord (#36) and his signature laser blasters.

In similar news, the Force seems to be strong with shop.LEGO.com, now that it has unveiled two additional LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz under its belt, making the movie franchise as of this writing, the most represented license in the LEGO BrickHeadz line. Finn #19 (41485) and Captain Phasma #20 (41486) now both have their BrickHeadz counterpart, as seen in The Force Awakens. Here are their official images and a couple of product description from LEGO. The LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Finn and Captain Phasma will be both available on November 1st.

LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 Minifigures Now On Sale At Select TRU Stores.

This year’s LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 promotionals are now up, and as we reported from yesterday, this annual LEGO and TRU promo have already kicked off in some parts of the world and has just recently began in the US. For its first wave of offerings during this week (October 1 to 7), LEGO purchases of $50 and above at any Toys R Us stores will entitle you to a free LEGO Bricktober Minifigure set  which is from the Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu theme.  Week 2 (October 8 to 14) giveaways will be the LEGO Batman Movie minifigs; Week 3 (October 15-21) the LEGO City Jungle Exploration; and Week 4 (October 22-28) will be a selection of LEGO CMFs coming from past series.

According to some reports we’re receiving from our brick fans, certain TRU stores, particularly in Arlington, Texas, are now even offering Week 2 series which is yet to be released next week. Furthermore, store clerks are even offering them for sale for $19.99 per set even without any qualifying purchases, including The LEGO Batman Movie series, which is still due next week. Here are some images snapped by one of our friends.

What I find odd is the fact that there seems to be an absence of any active promotions or marketing for these minifigure sets. According to reports, there are no visible in-store signages of any kind that hints on these Bricktober promotionals. Unlike that of last year’s where flyers were given away to promote 2016’s Bricktober minifigs, this year is somewhat lacking. This is only me speculating, but it could be that TRU has underestimated how popular these minifigure sets are and is now doing some regulating of some sorts to ensure that there will be plenty of sets to go around during the next three weeks, OR in light of their recent financial crisis and bankruptcy, advertising is one of the company’s activities that are placed in the backburner. Couple it with a rather low morale from their frontline store personnel, then you can expect a relatively apathetic atmosphere where you can easily get products that are not yet supposed to be offered.

We just have to wait and see if TRU will be consistent in its announcements and promo, and for the mean time please let us know if these 2017 Bricktober Minifigure sets are now available in your local TRU stores. Drop us a comment below if you happen to spot them.

Thanks to Justin for giving us a heads up.

LEGO Releases Building Instructions for the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192).

Before anything else, I would like to clarify that what I’m about to say has nothing to do whatsoever with the availability of the still sold out, and frustratingly elusive, LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon (75192). However, I’ve been hearing news recently that certain LEGO certified stores outside of the US, particularly in Australia and Singapore, where AFOLs were fortunate enough to pre-order and purchase 50 sets of these brick-built Corellian freighters. The way it seems, it was kind enough of LEGO to set aside at least a few sets for its business partners (certified stores) in various regions where the LEGO VIP program is unavailable.

75192 1

For those who are still patiently hitting the F5 buttons on their keyboards, and constantly refreshing shop.LEGO.com’s UCS Millennium Falcon product page for the hope of seeing that Add to Bag button, then you may want to check this out first. LEGO has recently uploaded into their servers the massive, 468-page building instructions for the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192).  Since I haven’t seen nor held the set myself, I am naturally curious on what the building instructions may contain. If you want to download the full instructions in pdf format – a total of 83MB in file size – just head over to this link. I’ve posted the first introductory pages of the building instructions which you can find below. It provides a background on the history of the Millennium Falcon itself, and the design process involved in creating the largest LEGO set ever, with interviews from the members of the design team.
