This Year’s Limited Edition Christmas Gift With Purchase is the Iconic Nutcracker (40254)

LEGO’s November Store Calendar has revealed that this year’s Christmas gift with purchase (GWP) promotional will be the classic, buildable Nutcracker (40254). For a very, very limited time period (from November 24 to 27 only), this set comes as a freebie for any single receipt purchase of any LEGO products worth $99 and above, both online and in-store. The Nutcracker (40254) is a similar promo like that of last year’s Snowglobe (40223) giveaway. With only four days of window time for this set’s availability during Brick Friday and over the following weekend, expect this set to fly off the shelves rather quickly.

As expected from limited edition sets such as this, there is already an eBay listing of the LEGO Seasonal Nutcracker as early as now. Check out these official images of the Nutcracker (40254).

Nutcracker (40254) Nutcracker (40254) Nutcracker (40254)

In case, you want to give it a try right now, you may build your own LEGO Nutcracker (40254) using the building instructions uploaded by LEGO. You may download it here and see if you have the pieces that you can use. As far as I see it, there seems to be no particular piece exclusive to this set, so building it may be relatively easy.

So what do you think about this year’s limited edition Christmas freebie? Which do you think is better, this year’s LEGO Seasonal Nutcracker (40254) or last year’s Snowglobe (40223)? Let us know in the comments below.

We Now Have Official Images for This Year’s Holiday Themed Seasonal Sets!

Last August, we posted a pair of rather grainy images of what is slated to be this year’s next holiday themed, LEGO seasonal sets. As it seems, we will again be receiving two Seasonal sets for the month of December, and thanks to The Brick Fan, we now have official images of how they look like. We now have pictures of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Train (40262) and Christmas Town Square (40263). It is no secret that I’m a fan of the Seasonal sets and these two are no exception. I already shared my initial impression about these sets in my previous post, so I will not say much about them here. I would rather hear your thoughts on these sets, so let me know in the comments below.

LEGO Seasonal Thanksgiving Set (40261) Official Images Now Up!

Last month, we had a glimpse of the LEGO Seasonal Thanksgiving (40261) set when its November-themed counterpart was made available which is the LEGO Seasonal Halloween Haunt (40260)As I have mentioned before, I am a fan of this series because of its nice, vignette-style builds and creative rendition of the changing seasons. Thanks to Promobricks, we now have official images of set 40261, which is expected to be available by October.

The LEGO Seasonal Thanksgiving (40261) set contains 133 LEGO pieces, some of which can prove to be quite useful for MOCs and other creations. The tree in the background looks very much the same as that from the LEGO Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236) save from the leave’s different color scheme. It also consists of vegetable patch, a scarecrow, and cleverly built turkey. I particularly like the cart which can be used in many different ways.

Other than the Thanksgiving (40261) and Halloween Haunt (40260) sets, we already have confirmation that the next holiday-themed seasonal sets will be the Christmas Train and Market Stalls (40262) and Town Square Christmas (40263) – both are perfect companions to this year’s Christmas D2C set, the LEGO Creator Winter Village Station (10259).

LEGO 2017 Advent Calendars Now Available!

Last February, we had a glimpse of this year’s range of LEGO Advent Calendars at the highly celebrated New York Toy Fair. Though it’s a bit early for LEGO to be announcing these sets, I guess LEGO fans wouldn’t mind having an early view of these neat, holiday keepsakes.  Featuring a fine selection of collectible surprise gifts that draws inspiration from LEGO Star Wars, City and Friends, this year’s LEGO Advent Calendars are now available via shop.LEGO.com and Amazon. Though you might think it’s kind of early for LEGO to offer them to the general public, purchasing them as early as now may perhaps turn out to be a good decision later on. For sure, they will be running out very quickly.

We also saw their official box art images halfway through the year, and this time we now have the whole range of images of this year’s LEGO Advent Calendars, including their product descriptions. Head over to LEGO’s online store for more details, or alternatively, you may also check these sets via Amazon.

The LEGO Advent Calendars are quite popular for their neat microscale builds and tons of unique parts and elements, plus the anticipation of what you’ll going to get is fun in itself. I personally want to bag that cute, little snowboarding BB-8 from the Star Wars Advent Calendar.  It’s kind of neat to see how LEGO manages to include almost all of the most memorable characters and scenes included in two of the most recent Star Wars films – Rogue One and The Force Awakens.

Be sure to keep tabs with us here at the Brick Show for more LEGO set updates and reviews!

A Look at This Year’s First LEGO Christmas Magnet Accessory (853663).

After the reveal of the LEGO Christmas Build Up (40253) a few days ago, LEGO seems to be gradually building up the Christmas cheers with another Christmas themed set or accessory.  At LEGOLAND in Windsor, UK a new magnet accessory was put on display retailing at £6.99 or roughly $10. The LEGO Christmas Seasonal Magnet (853663) comes in at 45 pieces consisting of a girl minifigure, a pine tree, and microbuild snowman.

As far as we know, this is the fifth Christmas seasonal magnet released by LEGO since 2006, with the first four consisting of Santa minifigures. I know that most people might still prefer a Santa minifig over this latest accessory, but I personally prefer this most recent Christmas iteration over the previous ones, and the vignette-styled build that it shows. Though the build is very basic, which is to be expected from a small accessory such as this, its design stands from the rest with the thoughtful inclusion of white and blue translucent pieces that represent winter elements of ice and snow.

No word yet on when and where this Christmas seasonal magnet will land in the US, but if you’re into collecting LEGO accessories such as this, then keep your radars open and stick around here at the Brick Show!

Thanks to Brickset for the tip.

Here’s Your Chance to Dunk the LEGO Gingerbread Man Minifigure (5005156) In Your Shopping Basket This December

If you’re keen in following various LEGO Store promotionals, then you’ll probably recall that the LEGO December Store Calendar comes with another minifigure freebie that is hard to ignore. This month, starting December 12 until 18, LEGO Store shoppers (both in-store and online) will receive a FREE LEGO Gingerbread Man (5005156) minifigure for purchases of $50 and above.

Gingerbread Man Minifigure

LEGO has already uploaded images of this promotional via its servers and it confirms that the said minifigure exclusive will be offered in a packaging similar to that of TRU’s LEGO Chicken Suit Guy minifigure (5004468) promotional. Take a closer look.

Gingerbread Man Minifigure

If you missed on the little guy when he first made his appearance back in 2013 under LEGO’s Collectible Minifigures Series 11 (71002), this is your chance to definitely have him without feeling your way at any blind bag. Though it’s a nice touch to wrap him in a cardboard gingerbread house, I would be happier if LEGO took the extra mile by including his witty ‘Dunk Me’ mug accessory. They were able to add a sword accessory in TRU’s earlier promotional back in October which is a LEGO Ninjago Stone Armor Cole (5004393) minifigure so I guess it will not be difficult to do the same again. Nevertheless, it’s the holidays so having the little Gingerbread Man minifigure back again for FREE is a much-welcomed gift.

Now is also a good time to finish that Christmas LEGO shopping list that you’ve been working on especially that from December 12 to 20, LEGO will be offering FREE express saver shipping on any order of $35 and more. Take note that December 20 at noon is the last time to place an order online if you wish to have it arrive just in time for Christmas. Check shop.LEGO.com/shipping for full details.
