LEGO Hidden Side – A New Theme! (Fact Sheet)

LEGO Hidden Side

LEGO® Hidden Side™ is an augmented reality-enhanced LEGO play theme where kids must turn a haunted world back to normal–one ghost at a time. It is the only play experience available today that fully and seamlessly integrates augmented reality (AR) with physical construction to reveal a hidden world of interactive play. Activating the bespoke AR app brings LEGO models to life, revealing a hidden world of interactive mysteries and challenges to solve. When combined, the two worlds make each other even more compelling and fun!

The Story
Jack and Parker are teenage bloggers who attend Newbury High School. Through an app on their mobile phones, they can see the unseen–and in this case, Newbury is overrun with ghosts!

The Building Sets
LEGO Hidden Side offers 8 building sets full of awesome functionality and secret surprises that offer the build and roleplay fun of any LEGO play theme. Each model can be built as it appears by day and has transforming functionality to become the haunted version of itself.

  • 70418 Lab 174 pieces, $19.99 (USD)
  • 70419 Boat 310 pieces, $29.99 (USD)
  • 70420 Graveyard 335 pieces, $29.99 (USD)

  • 70424 Train 698 pieces, $89.99 (USD)
  • 70425 School 1,474 pieces, $129.99 (USD)

The AR App
Kids assume a first-person perspective to join the lead characters, using their mobile phones to see and solve paranormal mysteries beneath the surface of their town. By holding their phones up to a physical LEGO model, “points of possession”are activated, releasing virtual ghosts that kids must then capture to stop the haunting. Kids must keep one hand in each world–physical and digital –to progress the play.A short digital game can be played independent of the building sets. The app will add new ghosts, game challenges, and randomization of gameplay to keep kids coming back to their models.

Specs: free download from the App Store and Google Playfor iOS6S and up and Android phones on the ARCore supported list.App works on tablets, however, the play experience is designed with phones in mind to facilitate kids’ ability to play with one hand in each world, which is easier to do with a phone. Ages 7 and up.

Life-Sized LEGO Bugatti Chiron is Headed to the UK on November

The hype may have long died down at this point, but we’re sure lifelong LEGO fans can still remember the warm reception given to LEGO’s unbelievable achievement of using Technic pieces to create a working replica of the life-sized LEGO Bugatti Chiron sports car. By now that life-sized LEGO car may perhaps be more popular than the actual LEGO Technic Chiron (42083) introduced earlier in June.

We know that LEGO has sent their brick-built Bugatti Chiron on a European tour, making stops at racetracks or car shows along the way. The last we heard was that it was an “honored guest” at the Paris Motor Show this early October. Its next stop: across the English Channel.

Indeed, the life-sized LEGO Bugatti Chiron that impressed even veteran professional drivers despite its sub par top speed will now be making its way across the UK. On the first day of November it’ll be on proud display at the Westfield London.

Next, brick car will move to Westfield Stratford on November 3, before finally arriving at the Bluewater Dartford on November 8. So next month it’ll be England’s turn to get a closer look at The LEGO Group’s proud creation. Visitors will be allowed to rev the Power Functions-powered engine and fiddle with its other features.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) Officially Revealed

After releasing a video teaser a few of days ago, LEGO has officially revealed the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) now listed at LEGO Shop@Home. Based from the original product idea of Jason Allemann and Grant Davis, the Pop-Up Book is the very first of its kind where it features a pop-up build that tells two classic fairy tales in one set, nicely rendered in LEGO bricks. Gorgeous both inside and out, the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book comes in dark green and red colors and unique, printed parts. I wasn’t sure before if those were actual printed parts and I was even inclined to think that they were stickers instead. As it is, LEGO went the extra mile of coming up with a new Once Upon a Brick printed tile and even had the names of Allemann and Davis printed on brown 1×8 tiles. I feel this is a good start for future LEGO Ideas sets where fan designers get recognized through the actual set by having a special, commemorative LEGO piece dedicated to them and included in each set.

Read on for the official product description for the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) which will be available to starting November 1 at all LEGO brand stores and at

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) To Be Revealed Anytime Soon

Another LEGO set reveal is poised for this month, and this time it will be coming once more from the LEGO Ideas line. The announcement came from LEGO China’s local social media account, underscoring the arrival of the upcoming LEGO Ideas Pop-up Book (21315) set by the end of this month.

According to LEGO China’s announcement, this particular set will be available for retail beginning October 26. This suggests that we might hear an official press release from the LEGO Group in a couple of weeks. Do take note that the image posted by LEGO China is based on the initial product idea submitted by designers Jason Allemann and Grant Davis. We still yet to see how the final product will look like.

The LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) was eventually selected as the product idea of choice at the conclusion of the LEGO Ideas 2017 Third Review Stage. Designed by Jason Allemann (aka JK Brickworks), he was also the LEGO fan designer behind the LEGO Ideas Maze (21305) released back in 2016. The Pop-Up Book can be customized to allow you to create your own story. It is expected that the set will include a set of minifigures based on the classic fairy tale of Red Riding Hood. Whether its knights and castles, or the wild, wild west, the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book is versatile enough to allow these customizations. Needless to say, this is one set packed with plenty of neat play features.

It’s a Second Wind for the LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine (10268)

Though considered a rumor which circulated last month across the LEGO fan community, we can finally rest our horses and be assured that the LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine (10268) will be available to all starting Black Friday on November 23. This latest LEGO Creator Expert re-release is based from the original 4999 set that had a very limited run when it was launched ten years ago. Similar to another re-release such as the LEGO Creator Expert Taj Mahal (10256), this newer iteration of the Vestas Wind Turbine (10268) is a direct copy of its predecessor, save for a few additional pieces.

LEGO is staying true to its advocacy of promoting sustainability not only through promoting renewable clean energy, but also raising awareness in using plant-based materials in its next generation of LEGO bricks. The LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine (10268) is the first LEGO set to be offered to the public that uses its new plants-based, Plants for Plants tree elements, practically replacing those from its older counterpart.

Read on for LEGO’s official press release, followed by an image gallery of the new Vestas Wind Turbine (10268). For a full product description, please visit and be sure to check on the website again on November 23 when the set goes live for online purchase.

[26th September 2018] While the world-renowned New York Climate Week (24 – 30 September) is live, the LEGO Group has today unveiled the latest LEGO Creator Expert set to come ‘Out of the Vault’ – Vestas® Wind Turbine following popular demand of the original and to celebrate play, creativity and imagination whilst also raising awareness about sustainability and renewable energy in partnership with Vestas®. This is the very first set available to purchase that features one of the all-new sustainably sourced plant-based plastic LEGO elements, Plants from Plants. This renewable energy focused set will be available directly in LEGO Stores and this Black Friday (23rd November 2018).

The LEGO Creator Expert Vestas® Wind Turbine has been designed in partnership with the sets’ namesake and world’s leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, Vestas®, who have installed 65,000 wind turbines in around 80 countries.

The 826-piece model stands nearly a meter-high towering over a wooded hill, featuring the new ‘Plants from Plants’ spruce tree. Made from plant-based plastic sourced from sugarcane, the inclusion of these elements is part of the first steps in the LEGO Group’s ambition to use sustainable materials in products by 2030 and packaging by 2025.

This latest instalment in the LEGO Creator Expert Series has been designed to provide a challenging and rewarding building experience with a touch of nostalgia, with builders discovering a house complete with a furnished patio and a working porch light and powered wind turbine, as well as three LEGO Vestas® servicemen Minifigures and a LEGO dog.

The set measures 100cm high, 72cm wide and 31cm deep and features adjustable wind blades (not as big as the real thing of course, which measures more than 2m longer than a London double-decker bus, but impressive none the least), detailed tower, movable nacelle with aircraft warning lights and power functions to automate the set.

The LEGO Vestas® Wind Turbine celebrates creativity in addition to the LEGO Group’s commitment to making a positive impact on the environment. Through investment in wind power the LEGO Group balances 100% of the energy used to make LEGO bricks with energy from renewable sources.

Tim Brooks, Vice President, Environmental Responsibility at LEGO Group commented: “We strive to make a positive impact on the environment and are committed to climate action and to use sustainable materials in products and packaging. This wind turbine celebrates our first steps in bringing these ambitions to life and we hope it will inspire builders to learn about renewable energy. In August we released the first

LEGO elements made from plants and now our fans around the world can buy a LEGO set containing these unique elements.”

Morten Dyrholm, Group Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs at Vestas® said: “Today, wind energy is the cheapest source of energy in many markets, which have made wind turbines a sustainability icon across the globe and we are proud to partner with the LEGO Group on this relaunch. The original Vestas® wind turbine LEGO model was specially created for Vestas® to promote wind energy to a small audience within energy and as such, today’s relaunch to the global LEGO community tells the story of how wind energy have gone from niche to mainstream, not just within energy but the entire world.”

The LEGO Creator Expert Vestas® Wind Turbine is the latest in the Creator Expert line of products and will be available to buy on Black Friday (23rd Nov) directly from LEGO Stores and

2018 LEGO Seasonal Christmas Carousel (40293) Revealed

Christmas seems to be around the corner as early as September, specially that LEGO has now started rolling out this year’s wave of holiday-inspired sets. After the reveal of 2018’s LEGO Advent Calendars which are now all available at, we now have a glimpse and confirmation of another seasonal set that will soon be available in our local LEGO Stores. The 2018 LEGO Seasonal Christmas Carousel (40293) has just been revealed by a Russian LEGO certified store. Check out the images below.

As we can see from the set’s box art, the Christmas Carousel (40293) is expected to be a limited edition set, following the likes of 2017’s Nutcracker (40254) and 2016’s Snowglobe (40223). Though the Russian LEGO certified store lists the Christmas Carousel for sale, it is most likely to be a gift-with-purchase set once it arrives in the US similar to its predecessors. It also seems to have certain play features that includes a simple rotating mechanism to make the carousel turn. It also has movable gates and removable seats in the form of microbuilds.

We do not have information as of now with regards to its availability, but most probably it will be available sometime in November as part of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals similar during the previous years.
