LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed Mobile Game First Impressions

Last August, LEGO and Gameloft officially announced their newest collaboration that brings your favorite LEGO minifigure character to life in an RPG world. Since then, the LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed mobile game was up for pre-registration which will reward users with coins, gems and a chance to have as their fan-voted minifigure as their starting character. And though the wait may seem forever, those looking forward to this latest LEGO mobile game will be glad to know that Gameloft has announced a global release date of February 27.

Available both for Windows, Apple, and Android users, LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is a mash-up of classic and modern LEGO minifigures, all at your disposal to create the winning team that you can use to engage in fun and epic team battles. Though the game’s official social media channels mention a Feb. 27 release date, I was surprised to see that it was already available to download in Southeast Asia via Google Play since Monday. I managed to install it to my Android device, with my initial roster of characters to be the Hiker from LEGO CMF Series 16 (71013), the Chicken Suit Guy from CMF Series 9 (71000), and Crook Chuck from LEGO City sets 60126 and 60130. Throughout the game, the player is assisted by the wizard Majisto, from 1993’s Dragon Knights Castle subtheme. There’s a total of 53 minifigure heroes to unlock, with more to come I presume. The game begins with a preliminary stage which AFOLs can humorously relate with very well – “The Dark Age”, with the goal to rebuild Piptown and all its brick-built structures.

lego legacy 1

I like the idea that the game developers went to lengths to give each minifigure character its own skillsets and power-ups, both for offense and team support during a team battle. For example, the Chicken Suit Guy can inflict damage across multiple enemies through its Spin Attack, while the Hiker has the special ability to heal its members through a funny, kumbaya camp song. Crook Chuck also has the strategic ability to taunt opponents, forcing opponents to direct all their attacks at him so as not to damage his teammates. You also get to unlock other minifig abilities, characters, and quests as you progress in the game. I’m sure to explore other aspects of this game later on as time permits.

LEGO Ideas Untitled Goose Game Qualifies for the First 2020 Review Stage

I guess this proves how famous this awful goose is. In just less than a month when it first debuted as a LEGO product idea, the LEGO Ideas Untitled Goose Game is now a step closer to becoming an official LEGO set after it garnered 10,000 fan votes on the LEGO Ideas platform. Based on the smash-hit video game developed by House House, this brick rendition is the creation of  LEGO fan builder A Fellow Player that shows how one horrible goose can make life hilariously difficult for our hapless gardener.

Untitled Goose Game

The worldwide phenomenon of 2019 comes to LEGO! Enjoy life as a destructive goose in a small garden. Watch out for the gardener and his many tools! Props Included: Jam, Apple, Sprinkler, Goose Sign, Rose Bush, Carrot, Loose Foliage, Spoon, Shovel, Sun Hat, Hammer, Ice Chest, and a Key. Preferably, there would be more than one minifigure, but no others fit this scene. Some difficulties came with the printing and the post will be updated when they are fixed.

The LEGO Ideas Untitled Goose Game is the third qualifier to make it for the First 2020 Review Stage, following our first entry of the year, Mary Poppins, Cherry Tree Lane, and the Tesla Cybertruck.

First Images of LEGO Minecraft 2020 Sets Surface

After more and more LEGO sets are gradually revealed by other online retailers in time for LEGO’s 2020 releases for the first half of the year, we now have further info on what to expect from the LEGO Minecraft 2020 sets. Though the entire Minecraft franchise has taken a dip in terms of its popularity among young gamers, LEGO seems to have plenty of plans ahead for its tie-in merchandise.

Joining other LEGO Minecraft ‘BigFig’ sets from early this year, LEGO now introduces two additional sets under this format – the LEGO Minecraft Creeper with Ocelot (21156) and Pig with Zombie Baby (21157) – both of which are tagged as part of Series 2 under this subtheme. If everything goes well, then perhaps we can expect more sets coming from this direction.

We also have additional sets that offer a handful of new elements and characters. That buildable LEGO Minecraft Panda from set 21158 is definitely adorable, plus the new minifigure renditions of those nasty Illager mobs with their crossbow-wielding Pillagers and devastating Ravagers as depicted in set 21160, are probably good reasons for some to get these new LEGO Minecraft 2020 sets.

Same with the rest of the new-for-2020 licensed LEGO sets such as those coming from the Star Wars, Trolls, Disney Princess and Marvel themes, these new LEGO Minecraft 2020 sets are slated to be released on January 1st. Read on to know more about their piece count and price in Euros, and I will update this post once additional images are made available by LEGO from LEGO Shop@Home. Thanks to Promobricks for the heads up.

Mega Construx Halo Heroes Mini Figures Series 10: A Closer Look

Hailed as the “killer app” for the original Microsoft Xbox upon its 2001 release, the first-person shooter game “Halo: Combat Evolved” would become the first entry in a videogame series that would span nearly two decades, branching out into other gameplay genres and exploding into a larger multimedia franchise including books, comics, live-action web-series, anime and, quite naturally, toy lines. Microsoft has long relied on Mega Bloks (now Mega Brands, a Mattel subsidiary) to bring some of the sweetest “Halo” toys ever for collectors. While Mega has had its Bloks line specialize in replicating “Halo” vehicles, they have also branched out into producing action mini-figures via Mega Construx. This is reflected in their new Mega Construx Halo Heroes Series 10 characters.

The Mega Construx “Halo Heroes” Series 10 mini-figures bring together a choice selection of characters across the sci-fi FPS franchise. UNSC Master Chief PO John-117, his fellow Spartan super-soldiers, his trusty AI companion Cortana and a variety of hostile extraterrestrial threats from the Covenant and Forerunners are included in this tenth series of figures on the Mega Construx line.

The new “halo heroes” figures

Appropriate for being Series 10 of “Halo Heroes,” this batch of Mega Construx figures features 10 individual characters. They each come with their own handheld equipment/accessories and standing base with a gold-colored nameplate. The figures included in this batch are:

While you can get them individually, Mega Construx is also offering “Halo Heroes” Series 10 mini-figures in a collector’s case. This features multiple copies of the characters in the set to a total 21 figures.

These new easy-to-assemble figures have been available since early this month, and are selling like hotcakes online. So we at The Brick Show are also offering these Series 10 Mega Construx Halo Heroes on our online store.

Check Out the Winners of the LEGO Ideas Junkertown Inspired Building Contest

Back in July, LEGO Ideas launched another building contest that asked fans to come up with their best brick rendition of the harsh Australian Outback in true, Junkertown-style. Inspired by the LEGO Overwatch sets, the LEGO Ideas Show Us Your Junker-Inspired Interpretation of an Overwatch Hero challenges builders to recreate their favorite Overwatch character if they’re a resident of Junkertown. The winners are in and let’s take a look at these outstanding winning entries.

Junker Orisa

LEGO Ideas Junkertown

This is my interpretation of a Junker-fied Orisa.
in all the chaos in Junkertown, a lot of her armor got damaged, and therefore overlapped and welded with old rusty pieces of metal lying around in Junkertowns surroundings. Though a lot of her changed, she still managed to keep some of her somewhat friendly personality.
I decided not to make huge changes to her, so the original design would be easy to recognize.
The model consists of 674 parts, its made in LDD and rendered with Stud.io ~ AlexWeigelt
Junkertown Hanzo

Hanzo equipped for surviving in the harsh environment of the Outback.
This was a really fun build, both to recreate the character recognizably and also to add the Junkertown twist. I hope you enjoy! (The cloth elements are all LEGO: parts 32652, 32653, 36964, 35863, and bb685pb01.) ~ BallomNomNom
JunkerTown Winston

Even in the thick of the Australian outback, a scientist like Winston can figure out how to make the most of the surrounding junk. Armed with an electromagnetic frag launcher, a jet engine booster pack, a new cyborg arm, and of course, Winston never goes anywhere without his bull hide Spiffy hat! ~ Legofin.

This version of Winston ended up in Junkertown after he escaped from the Moon. He used his scientific and engineering skills to build armor and a jump pack of the remains of his crashed emergency pod and equipped himself with a demolition saw that he found in an abandoned junkyard. After some modifications of his own, he is now equipped and ready to take on the other inhabitants of Junkertown! ~ oOger

Junkhardt

When Reinhardt was stranded in the Australian Outback without his powered armour, he had to adapt in order to survive. Crafting a new battle suit from old vehicle and spaceship parts, he is now ready to take on Junkertown in style… ~ MarkNewnham1

Each of the winners received the entire collection of 2019 LEGO Overwatch sets, plus an exclusive LEGO Overwatch box with special golden guns elements not found in any other LEGO sets. To top it off, winners also received some limited-edition Overwatch merchandise. For more details about the currently available LEGO Overwatch sets, be sure to visit LEGO Shop@Home. Congratulations to the winners! Keep on building, mates!

Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables Qualifies for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage

It has been long dreamt for by long-time LEGO and Nintendo fans that a sort of crossover happens between these two pop icons – and these next LEGO Ideas product idea may hopefully pave the way for that. The Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables by Hanwasyellowfirst is our next LEGO Ideas project that managed to earn those needed 10K fan votes to enable it to qualify for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. This LEGO product idea takes its inspiration from the famed stables of the hit video game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that was released back in March of 2017 together with the world debut of the highly popular Nintendo Switch.

Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables

The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables faithfully recreates the stables that are commonly found throughout the land of Hyrule. It also features several roof sections that can be opened to reveal the inner workings of the build. Other features include a fire pit and several benches, crates, ingredients, and of course horses. Proposed minifigures for this product idea includes the characters of Link, Kaas, Beedle, Pikango, Stable Master, Traveller, and a Mystery Minifig.

The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables

Here is my first submission for LEGO ideas. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Stable.

I chose the Stable as it captures well the spirit of this great Zelda game. Stables can be found throughout the vast landscape of Hyrule and I think it looks great as a LEGO set too, plus… horses!

Disclaimer: Unfortunately I have zero graphic design expertise. So when it comes to the minifigures you will have to use your imagination, I have tried to get something as close to representative as possible from what was on offer.

This, therefore, is also the case for any printed elements or stickers you imagine would be involved,

some classic Hylian script and some tasty recipes on the inside wall!

The Build:

The roof sections are hinged to allow the stable and horse pen to open up. Inside are 4 beds, a table and chairs, a recipe and the reception desk (for the trusty Stable Master to turn trusty Inn-keep).

Grab some apples or monster parts and cook up something tasty! Missing an ingredient? Why don’t you check the crates, or ask Beedle! I’m sure I saw a Lizalfos horn somewhere about…

Feed the stable dog a nice piece of prime meat, maybe he will reward you!

You may even be able to see signs of a sneaky Korok nearby…

Contents:

  • Stable
  • Fire Pit & Benches
  • Crates and Ingredients (various)
  • Weapons (various)
  • Horses x3

Minifigures:

Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables

This is the second LEGO Ideas submission that is credited to builder Hanwasyellowfirst that managed to gain 10,000 LEGO fan votes. If you recall, the LEGO Ideas The Seven Dwarfs’ House product idea is currently in review as a qualifier in the on-going Second  2019 Review Stage. The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables is the third set to enter the Third 2019 Review Stage following the likes of Queen: I Want to Break Free and Seinfeld 30th Anniversary Set.

Do you think this set has the potential of opening doors for future LEGO and Nintendo partnerships? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
