PlayStation users of LEGO Marvel Avengers are still in a swoon with the barrage of DLCs (downloadable content) that Warner Bros Interactive has recently released. This time around, PlayStation’s US blogsite announced another sweet exclusive offering with the Ant-Man Character and Level Pack DLC. Available as a free download for all PlayStation 3 and 4 users who purchased a copy LEGO Marvel Avengers, the newest DLC is based on the story and characters of last year’s Disney Marvel movie Ant-Man.

Warner Bros Interactive announced the said release coupled with a new trailer showcasing some of the movie’s super-powered characters such as Scott Lang in his own Ant-Man suit, Dr. Hank Pym with his original, classic Ant-Man suit, Darren Cross aka the Yellow Jacket, Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne (The Wasp), Cassie Lang, and of course, our most favorite ant, Ant-Thony. The DLC sees Ant-Man and the rest of the team embarks in a new mission to reach the Yellow Jacket, told in a most exceptionally funny narrative by Michael Pena who also played Ant-Man’s fast-talking friend, Luis.

supergirl green arrow

A couple of days ago, Portal Characters reported an interesting  discovery on the toys-to-life scene that could lead to the possible inclusion of two DC Superhero characters namely Supergirl and Green Arrow in the roster of LEGO Dimensions characters. Based on the report, an unknown hacker was able to crack into the game’s system and discovered some pretty interesting finds. By gaining access to LEGO Dimensions’ specific codes, he was able to unlock the minifigure characters of Supergirl and Green Arrow, which led to speculations ranging from a discontinued LEGO Dimensions character set, or on a very clever take on how to modify the LEGO Dimension’s core game.

In either case, the last piece of evidence that seems to validate these claims was found in LEGO’s very own Replacement Parts service. As it turns out, specific minifig parts of Supergirl are made available on the site if you type in 71170 – the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack code for Playstation 3. The following are the minifigure parts that were thought to belong to Supergirl. The prints on these parts are pretty much obvious.

Now another piece of ‘evidence’ surfaced on the internet via Bricks to Life, and this time, an actual gameplay video involving Supergirl and Green Arrow can be seen which further strengthen the notion of another Wave coming anytime soon. The YouTube video was uploaded by a certain Lego Vid just two days ago.  Watch the video below:

As seen on the video (around 1:24 mark), Supergirl is capable of firing off a destructive laser eye blast, coupled with a powerful dash that mows down baddies and other structures. Green Arrow on the other hand can fire his arrows in rapid succession and even has a special triple arrow attack which can hit multiple enemies at the same time.

Hot from the reveal of his first video, Lego Vid posted another one just yesterday, which shows a rather interesting ability that Supergirl has. Watch this:

UPDATE (April 7, 2016): Due to an alleged copyright infringement complaint from Warner Bros. Entertainment, YouTube has decided to remove the video below as of yesterday. We’ll leave you to speculate on the reasons behind this move from Warner Bros.

The video shows Supergirl in her Red Lantern rendition, together with LEGO Ninjago’s Lloyd and other characters from the first video. There were no other details given in the video other than the fact that Supergirl’s gameplay is very much the same as that of Superman, while Green Arrow have similar abilities as that of Legolas.

So far, these series of revelations may actually point out that LEGO could have actually considered the inclusion of these superheroes in the roster of LEGO Dimension characters. We just have to wait and see if LEGO will surprise with another ‘Surprise Wave’ in the works, or even perhaps a prelude to a Series 2 in the near future.

Hunt for LEGO Dimensions Easter Eggs

Easter Eggs are fun for all ages, as proven by the treasure trove of hidden content found in movies, TV and especially videogames. Because LEGO Dimensions brings together so many different entertainment brands, the game is filled with interesting crossover content that will make you feel nostalgic while simultaneously hitting your funny bone.

These in-game Easter Eggs bring together some unexpected couplings, like the Ghostbusters having a friendly run in with Titantic’s Rose and Jack-like figures on a sunken ship:

Other in-game secrets include Wonder Woman’s run in with the ghoulish Librarian from the Ghostbusters film:

the Doctor standing in front of a wall tagged “Bad Wolf,” and a Vigo mural from Ghostbusters that sends players on fun side quests.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Coming June 28, 2016 + Screenshots

It is bound to happen: Microsoft’s Xbox has announced on its website the release of yet another LEGO Star Wars video game, and this time it claims that “The Force is strong with this one.” Riding on the recent success of its two-billion dollar movie counterpart, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if LEGO announces the release of a brick-based game version to keep the force moving.

Developed by UK-based TT Games, the LEGO Star Wars line-up has already made a distinct brand for itself, with endearing features and gameplay that are all too familiar to the fans of the series. True to its form, it promises the same light, but exquisitely challenging game modes, immersive shooting action, and of course tons of virtual bricks to collect and to build ships and props from the Star Wars franchise. Not to mention the comedic antic’s of their minifig counterparts that are sure to draw laughter from children and adults alike. Xbox players may choose to follow either the light or dark side of the force by taking the roles of Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, and the rest of the characters from the movie. I guess it is safe to assume that we’ll be seeing all of the characters featured on the game’s cover art at some point of the game.

Though all of these may sound standard fare for all LEGO-based video games, Xbox promises a different take on LEGO’s The Force Awakens story line. This time, the game will feature “exclusive playable content that bridges the story gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” as mentioned on the Xbox website.  This is sure to gather more interest among gamers as they’re treated with unexpected twists and turns during the transition from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

But the best promise of immersive gaming experience may actually come from the various game modes that come along with LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For the first time ever, TT Games introduces the Multi-Build and Blaster Battles modes in the game’s line-up.  “With Multi-Builds, use available LEGO bricks to open up new paths, then break them apart and re-build them again to open up another! And another! During Blaster Battles, use your surroundings as cover to stand against the First Order,” as Xbox describes it. We hope that the Blaster Battles will also include a network-based, free for all and coop gameplay.

Well we can dream all we want, but for the meantime, we just have to wait for around five months before we can actually grab a copy and pound once again on our controllers. For now, this leaked promotional video might give us a laugh or two. I guess even under his intimidating mask, Kylo Ren may have a chuckle or two when his lightsaber’s hilt needed several taps before he can get it to work right.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled to be released on June 28, 2016. The last LEGO-based game to be launched recently was Marvel’s Avengers on January 26.

LEGO Avengers Open World Video Game Trailer Released!

Telltale Games recently revealed their latest trailer for the impending release of the “LEGO Marvel Avengers” video game. Unlike Telltale’s previous LEGO Marvel game, this game revolves around the events of the various films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Highlights of the new trailer included several locations from most of the MCU’s films, and the ability to play as several characters who have yet to receive their own film; some of the trailer’s footage show Wasp flying around the streets and skyscrapers of New York and Cap’s buddy Falcon coming in from a landing to join a debriefing.

Like most major game releases, LEGO Marvel Avengers has a bonus for those LEGO or MCU fans whom are already willing to buy the game. Anyone who preorders the game with video game retail chain GameStop will receive a minifigure of Iron Man Mk. XXXIII, also known as the “Silver Centurion.”

LEGO Dimensions Official Announcement!

Over the last few days, a few images have been released by Lego, showing multiple mini figures (such as WyldStyle, Gandalf and Batman) in front of a blue portal with the hashtag #BreakTheRules. We had no idea what this meant…until now.

Earlier today, an official announcement regarding this has been released, saying that these images were regarding a new game to be released on September 27th : LEGO Dimensions!

This is the starter set, containing the portal along with the above-mentioned figures. I hope they’re not glued to those stands!

The game will be similar to that of popular titles such as Skylanders, where minifigures are placed on to some sort of interactive plate, causing a virtual version of said minifigure to appear in-game. The starter pack will feature a buildable portal along with a Batmobile mini build, Batman, Wyldstyle and Gandalf figures. Additional packs containing Ninjago, Back To The Future,  Lord Of The Rings and The Wizard Of Oz characters will be sold separately.

Fun Packs will include a figure and a vehicle, a Team Pack contains 2 figures and their vehicles and a Level Pack contains a figure, a vehicle and an additional level.

You can pre order all of them over on Amazon, here for the UK and here for the USA.

What do you think of these new sets? I for one think the idea is great, but not at those prices! since these games are gonna be aimed at TFOLS and kids, I can tell you no one will want to spend that much!
