The long-anticipated collaboration between LEGO Group and Epic Games is finally materializing into a thrilling new gaming experience. The official reveal of a LEGO Fortnite game, a fusion of creativity and survival gaming, is set to take place within Fortnite universe this week on December 7!

Evolution of a Metaverse: Enter the LEGO Fortnite Game!

The idea behind this groundbreaking game stems from a collaboration envisioned in April 2022. LEGO and Epic Games aimed at crafting a kid-friendly “metaverse”, and its consequent LEGO Fortnite game was born. This visionary endeavor sought to synergize the unique expertise of both companies, setting the stage for what promises to be an extraordinary gaming experience.

LEGO Fortnite Game: An Unprecedented Venture

The crux of this collaboration, the LEGO Fortnite game, has emerged with an official trailer offering a sneak peek of things to come. Check the official teaser below courtesy of IGN.

While the trailer is a brief 22-second tease, it introduces LEGO versions of beloved Fortnite characters like the Supply Llama and Brite Bomber. LEGO’s announcement emphasizes the game’s intent to merge the best elements of both realms, fostering expansive exploration within vast open worlds and stimulating creative building with its iconic bricks.

The LEGO Fortnite Game: What to Expect

Scheduled to debut within Fortnite, the LEGO Fortnite game promises a unique gaming and open-world experience within the larger Fortnite universe.

It is also good to know that it managed to obtain an E10+ classification, aiming for a wider audience compared to Fortnite’s base game, rated T for teens. This shift hints at a potentially immersive gaming experience, with more emphasis on the game’s collaborative survival mode.

Glimpses of the LEGO Fortnite Universe

Beyond today’s 22-second teaser trailer, we can somewhat catch a glimpse of what to expect from the LEGO Fortnite game, including some of its more prominent game features.

Several reports indicate mining mechanics, a versatile building tool with nine schematic slots, alongside health and energy systems. Unique in-game actions, like resting in a bed to rejuvenate health and stamina, and mining ores for materials, are also poised to shape a uniquely different gameplay experience.

Check out this sampling from Fortnite’s official YouTube channel.

A Multifaceted World Beckons in the LEGO Fortnite Game

LEGO’s official press release and captivating promotional artwork also seem to hint at things to come. The LEGO Fortnite game will most likely include three distinct biomes: a rugged desert, lush forests, and snow-capped mountains.

Iconic Fortnite characters—Peely, Cuddle Team Leader, and Brite Bomber—stand out against the backdrop. The Nightmare Shark Ship from the LEGO DREAMZzz set and the Lizard Man also hints at the game’s potential to combine diverse themes into a monumental sandbox adventure.

LEGO Celebrates the LEGO Universe 10th Year Anniversary With a Remastered Soundtrack

It has been more than a decade since we saw LEGO’s first attempt to enter the MMOG (massively multiplayer online game) arena. When the LEGO Universe opened its virtual doors to the world, it made sure that players will not just have an immersive open-world sort of experience but a great soundtrack as well. And though LEGO Universe was eventually shut down in just less than 2 years, fans of the first LEGO online game will never forget the power of its music and the genius behind it. To celebrate this musical milestone, LEGO has now released a LEGO Universe 10th year anniversary playlist that features the game’s remastered soundtrack arranged by acclaimed composes Bryan Tyler.

You can listen to the LEGO Universe 10th year anniversary soundtrack through the following video. What is neat about this video/soundtrack is that it also features several video clips, concept arts, and behind-the-scenes footage of the game itself. It’s like listening to a great album while watching a documentary at the same time.

Here’s the LEGO Group’s official press statement on this commemorative soundtrack. You can also find this soundtrack on Spotify and other music and podcast streaming platforms.

THE LEGO GROUP MARKS TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF LEGO® UNIVERSE WITH REMASTERED AND NEVER BEFORE RELEASED SOUNDTRACK

Released to coincide with Hollywood composer Brian Tyler’s appearance on LEGO Games’ Bits N’ Bricks podcast.

Billund, February 24th, 2021: In December, the LEGO Group marked the 25th anniversary of its first-ever video game with the release of the popular Bits N’ Bricks podcast series. Today, the company marks another important date with the release of the fully remastered LEGO® Universe (Original Game Soundtrack) to purchase and streaming for the first time ever. The soundtrack is accompanied by three episodes of the Bits N’ Bricks podcast looking back at the game’s development, with today’s episode focusing on conversations with composer Brian Tyler, producer Richard Dekkard, as well as a brief visit from the voice of LEGO Universe: Sir Patrick Stewart.

LEGO Universe was the company’s first-ever massively multiplayer online game launched in October 2010, with a soundtrack composed by Brian Tyler and additional music by John Harman and Richard Dekkard. Now a celebrated Hollywood composer, Tyler has composed soundtracks for huge blockbuster smashes including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3. The soundtrack to LEGO Universe was the first video game soundtrack he composed following soundtracks for classic films like Constantine and The Lazarus Project. It was created with the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, but due to scheduling constraints, Tyler ended up overseeing the entire recording live from a studio in Los Angeles using video and audio streaming between the countries.

The LEGO Universe theme went on to be used at the entrance at LEGOLAND® parks across the globe and proved to be very popular with fans. Despite its popularity, the soundtrack has never been available to purchase or stream until now.

As the landmark anniversary approached, Tyler and Dekkard came together to completely remaster the score, which the LEGO Group is proud to be releasing today (Wednesday, February 24th) across popular digital music stores and streaming services. The album will also be available on YouTube featuring a special behind-the-scenes video retrospective. Patrick Stewart, who served as narrator for the game, will also appear in this video.

On the remaster, Tyler said: “I’m really proud of the music and I’m proud of the game. I am asked all the time ‘Is it going to be available? and earnestly thought to myself ‘I hope it is!’ I really wanted that for the fans, so I was not going to miss a beat in terms of helping get this out there to the world.”

To hear more about LEGO Universe’s inception, creation, launch, and eventual closure, as well as other key moments in the LEGO Group’s long, rich history in digital play and video games listen to the Bits N’ Bricks podcast. Hosted by journalist Brian Crecente and documentarian Ethan Vincent, the podcast draws on over 120 interviews and explores the many facets of LEGO gaming, from unreleased projects to beloved masterpieces.

Look out for it on all popular podcast platforms, the LEGO Games anniversary website, and YouTube.

On a similar note, be sure to also check the latest LEGO Vidiyo sets that are coming soon in March. LEGO Vidiyo is the latest music and tech-powered theme that combines physical LEGO bricks and the company’s top-notch AR or augmented reality tech. But beyond the tech wow factor, LEGO Vidiyo allows younger LEGO fans to explore and create their own music while virtually interacting with a colorful and fun bunch of LEGO Vidiyo Bandmates.   Be sure to check this new wave of LEGO sets over at LEGO Shop@Home.

LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Release Date Announced

It’s been almost a year since the announcement came out regarding the biggest LEGO Star Wars video game as of to date. And this time around, we now have a release date for the highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars.com’s official YouTube channel made the announcement earlier today, scheduling the game’s release date on August 20. Check out the video below at the 1:45 mark.

UPDATE: It seems that there has been a slip-up on this one since the video is no longer available for viewing. Oopsie…

As previously announced on their blogsite, the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga will feature what could be the most expansive video game of the franchise, covering the entire span of all nine Star Wars films. It’s not just a collection of nine distinct video games based on the films, but an integrated whole where players can choose what level or world or episode if you may, and even their favorite Star Wars hero or villain among a roster of almost 500 playable characters.

LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

Jonathan Smith: We’re all fans; there’s no shortage of characters we’d love to play with. And you can’t ask us to pick a single favorite! It’s the fact that the whole cast is brought together, uniquely in this LEGO form — the complete collection, from Admiral Ackbar to Zorii Bliss — which makes the game so special.

Craig Derrick: There are nearly 500 characters in this game, with many of them playable. When choosing characters for a game this large, we just looked at every film in the saga and tried to say “yes” as much as possible. That said, it often comes down to storytelling and the specific role of the character in the quests and game progression. Of course, we have almost all of your favorite heroes and villains from the films, many background players, a few surprises, and…Yaddle!

Needless to say, the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga will definitely be LEGO and TT Games’ biggest game release of this year. Keep your radars open for more updates, and I’ll keep you posted once pre-orders are around for this game.

Avoid This LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga Fake Download

Yep, you read it right. It seems that there will always be those group of people who will not miss out an opportunity to trick people in doing their bidding. Rebelscum raises the warning flag when a fraudulent claim from a shady site claims to already have a copy of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga which is yet to be officially released on December 31, 2020. This recent posting came from GamerHQ.com, where it claims that you can download the said game from their site – for free. Now I’m quite positive that I am NOT hitting that download button for any reason at all. Read on for what this site has to say about this unholy early release. Be warned though, you might find the English tad confusing.

Reading this ‘product description’ makes me think that I’m either reading from a poorly translated text, or an AI-powered droid is just tripping on me. In any case, do remember that this claim is FAKE. And for the love of the brick, do yourself a favor by not downloading anything from this site. Or else you will be taking the unnecessary risk of turning your PC into a nice, hefty piece of paperweight.  Be sure to do your research and check with legitimate sites before you believe in anything that you see or read over the internet. More Info Coming Out About the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Video Game

The LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is touted to be the latest and grandest Star Wars-inspired video game that LEGO and TT Games has to offer since the release of LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens back in 2016. We got a glimpse of what to expect from this game earlier in June, with a teaser trailer that suggests an immersive, all-encompassing video game experience that covers all the nine Star Wars films including material from the upcoming Star Wars conclusion in The Rise of Skywalker film. However, TT Games and WB Games only gave us some bits of info of what to expect from their latest offering, which is somewhat typical of what we can find from other LEGO video game releases: a unique kind of LEGO humor, co-op play, customizable minifig player avatars, and film-inspired locations. However, much is still wanting with regards to gameplay and other details that gamers are particular about.

Though the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga video game is still set for a 2020 launch, we can cross our fingers and hope to see our first in-game footage at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) in Japan. According to Gematsu and at the TGS’ official website, the said video game is part of a line-up of reveals that will find its way in Japan’s most celebrated video game event. It will be presented alongside another LEGO video game which is the LEGO Jurassic World on the Nintendo Switch platform.

lego star wars skywalker saga
A screengrab from the Tokyo Game Show 2019 website, that features the LEGO Jurassic World for the Nintendo Switch, and the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga.

For one, the TGS website makes it clear that a trailer for the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is slated to be presented on a soon-to-be-announced date, anytime between September 12 to 15 throughout the duration of the Tokyo Game Show. However, details are scant regarding the content of what will be presented about the game. We don’t know yet if what they will be showing is just the same, previously released teaser trailer (which is quite unlikely), or will they include new material and perhaps a few minutes of actual gameplay. I certainly hope it will be the latter.

I guess we just have to find out next week when the Tokyo Game Show 2019 commences next week. Be sure to follow our blog site for more details on this latest LEGO Star Wars video game.
