The four-part animated shorts are based on the upcoming Disney novelization entitled Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights, to be published by Random House and is scheduled to be released sometime next month. The story follows the journey of the gang as they attempt to restore the glorious Northern Lights or the Aurora Borealis. Joining them is a new Frozen character named Little Rock. The animated shorts will also feature the original voices of the actors, plus some equally impressive musical scores.

Here’s what Andrew Sugerman, Executive Vice President of Disney Publishing Worldwide, has to say.

“Natural phenomenon meets cultural phenomenon in this all new story, Frozen Northern Lights. We’re excited to share this new adventure and offer fans great new ways to connect with their favorite characters thanks to a host of related books, digital games and activities.”

Even after three years since its debut, Disney’s Frozen remains to be the highest-grossing animated film ever released, and has given rise to various Disney productions including this year’s ABC holiday special, a theme park and live show attraction at Disney California’s Adventure Park, and an upcoming Broadway musical sometime in 2018.

LEGO and Disney’s extensive partnership has brought forth some of the best animated TV shows, particularly under the Star Wars saga such as The LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, and more recently, the LEGO Star Wars: Freemaker Adventures.  LEGO is also giving premium to its latest sets dedicated to the Disney brand such as the highly successful LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012) and the much rumored LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle.
