The LEGO Ninjago Movie SDCC 2017 Giveaway Announced, Plus Other Promotional Items.

With less than two weeks before this year’s San Diego Comic Con, LEGO and Warner Bros. Pictures has announced its plans of setting up a panel to promote their latest brick-built film, The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Building on the phenomenal success of The LEGO Batman Movie, the LEGO Ninjago Movie is also expected to create waves once it hit theaters in September. To help promote the film, the stars and cast of TLNM will hold a panel at this year’s SDCC to take place in Room 6A of the Convention Hall of the San Diego Convention Center, as confirmed by film writers Kevin and Dan Hageman.

As it seems, there will be two LEGO Ninjago panels slated for SDCC 2017: one for the TV show and another for the theatrical release. To make the event more exciting, Cosmic Book News reports that attendees of the LEGO Ninjago Movie panel will receive an exclusive, mystery giveaway.

“On Thursday evening, attend a panel for “The LEGO® NINJAGO® Movie” in the convention hall’s room 6A, with stars Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña and Zach Woods and producer Dan Lin. Attendees will receive an exclusive, movie-themed giveaway”.

If seeing the stars and cast of the film is not enough reason to attend the SDCC panel, then this free and exclusive giveaway will surely do the trick. We have no word yet on what this movie-themed exclusive item is, but we’re positive that more news will come in as we count the days before this year’s grandest comic fan convention on the planet.

In related news, LEGO has also revealed a handful of TLNM promotional polybags to gear up our excitement for the film. If you recall, we saw the film’s very first promotional with the reveal of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Kendo Lloyd (30608) polybag a few weeks ago which includes an unlocking code tied-up to The LEGO Ninjago Movie video game. This time, Brickset has updated its database to include three additional promotional polybags which you can find below.

We’ll wait for more news and info on when and where we can find these promotionals – our bet is that some of these might be specific to some retailers, or will come as a free item whenever you shop at LEGO stores both online and in-stores. So for the mean time, keep your ninja senses sharp for more TLNM updates only here at the Brick Show!

Here’s a Round-Up of The Most Exciting Rumored LEGO Sets That Will Debut in 2018.

Just recently, reliable LEGO insider and Eurobricks member Sir von LEGO has shared several bits of information on what LEGO has in the works for 2018. Joining him is also a handful of news from another trusted source over at Instagram, Delta Customs. We’re already half way through the year and it seems that LEGO is now setting the stage for another batch of sets based on current and upcoming themes. Bear in mind that even though Sir von LEGO has a good track record of being a trustworthy source of what’s going on inside LEGO’s creative labs, we should always take these kind of news with a grain of salt and see later on if it measures up with LEGO’s official announcements.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Infinity War and Black Panther

Avengers Infinity War Black Panther Logo

First off, we have some rather expected news from the LEGO Super Heroes front. It’s not really that much of a bang to know that LEGO will launch a good number of sets based on MCU’s grandest film of all considering that LEGO has been in the league with Disney and Marvel. The Avengers: Infinity War will also get the LEGO treatment with six (6) sets slated to be released, similar to what they did with the Avengers: Age of Ultron subtheme. We don’t have any word yet from Sir von LEGO on what these sets are, or how they will look like. It is understandable, considering how strict Disney and Marvel is against leaks on such a grand film. Similarly, it is not just Infinity War that gets a nod from LEGO’s top brass, but also that of the King of Wakanda himself, the Black Panther. According to reports, MCU’s Black Panther will get two (2) sets similar to other MCU franchises like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. Black Panther is set to debut in theaters in February next year, 3 months earlier than Infinity War so it’s interesting to see how the events in this film will affect the course of things later on for our Marvel superheroes.

2018 LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Sets

This piece of info may not come from Sir von LEGO, but it nevertheless deserves to be mentioned here. Delta Customs, another respected LEGO informant, has announced three LEGO DC Comics sets to debut next year. According to Delta, there will be three sets under the LEGO DC Comics’ theme with the first being one of the most unlikely character ever to come in LEGO form. I’m not sure if I’m using the right analogy here, but I guess it is fair to say that he may be considered DC’s counterpart to Marvel’s irreverently funny, Deadpool. I’m referring to DC’s Lobo, the intergalactic bounty hunter. LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Set #1 is reported to be named as Lobo’s Spacehog, which includes Lobo himself and the Man of Steel, Superman. The following images are taken from the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game.

lobo

Speaking of Superman, his archenemy Lex Luthor will also take center stage once more with his Lex Luthor Mech. Set #2 is said to be larger than 2012’s Superman vs Power Armor Lex (6862) and will include the minifig versions of Lex Luthor, Cheetah, Wonder Woman, Batman and Firestorm. Batman will also come with a brick-built wing pack so it is interesting to see that.

firestorm

Set #3 and the final rumored set under this Super Heroes subtheme is coined as Cyborg Helicopter and Freeze Car. It features the minifigure versions of Cyborg, Flash, Killer Frost, and Reverse Flash. I suppose Cyborg and Flash will have a different form as compared to their DCEU counterparts seen on the LEGO Justice League sets.

Unknown cyborg legoflash Killerfrost Reverse Flash Lego Batman 001

2018 The LEGO Batman Movie Sets

LBM logo

It seems that The LEGO Batman Movie fever is still pitch high. According to Sir von LEGO, TLBM is said to have five (5) additional LEGO sets under its belt come next year, two of which were earlier reported by Delta Customs.

Justice League Anniversary Party

JLA

This set is a nod to the scene in TLBM where the JL super heroes are partying at Superman’s place in the Fortress of Solitude. It will be nice to even have just at least half of the super heroes minifigs in attendance during that scene, but it is highly unlikely. This set is reported to include the minifig versions of Superman, Hawkman, El Dorado and Wonder Dog, and will perhaps, be the very first LEGO set to include the Fortress of Solitude.

Egghead’s Food Fight

TLBM Egghead

Condiment King

This set will include Egghead himself aboard his mech and Condiment King. The images below are from The Brick Fan as seen from the book, The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. Though there is no confirmation that this is how the minifigs will actually look like, nevertheless, they give us a pretty good hint on how they may be as an actual LEGO set

Harley Quinn’s Cannon Ball Attack

This is another rumored set that has a direct reference on The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. It includes Harley, Batgirl, a driver, and another yet-to-be revealed character.

Bat-Buggy

Bat Buggy

Cap Boomerang

This set comes with the minifig versions of Batman of Captain Boomerang. Again, these images are taken from the abovementioned book, and should not be considered as the final model. However, it is kind of tempting to think what other official LEGO sets may be hiding in this book.

Bat-Space Shuttle

Bat Space Shuttle

The Bat-Space Shuttle is a nod at one of the Bat-themed vehicles that Robin found while exploring around the Batcave as seen from the above clip. It is reported to include the three minifig versions of Batman and two of Robin. Perhaps a Space Batman and a Space Robin costume?

2018 LEGO Star Wars Sets

Lego Star Wars logo

Sir von LEGO is on a roll with his most recent insider news from the brick-built galaxy far, far away. Star Wars has been one of LEGO’s longest running licensed themes and it doesn’t show any sign of slowing down, especially with the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. According to the LEGO meister, other than the four (4) sets dedicated to the Last Jedi film, the theme will also get additional sets based on other Star Wars titles. Please do note that these are tentative names and may likewise have a different set number later on.

Tatoine Battle Pack (75198)

This pack includes two (2) Jawas, a Tusken Raider, an Astro-Mech and an unnamed vehicle.

General Grievous Combat Speeder (75199)

Grievous Speeder Bike 94b51966

This set has its reference from the Star Wars animated series, the Clone Wars. It comes with Mace Windu, and Grievous aboard a never-before-seen dark blue and gray speeder.

Boba Fett (75533)

This is believed to be an ultrabuild figure, quite similar to the Jango Fett (75107) set.

Darth Vader (75534)

The Sith Lord will have another buildable figure under its name following 2015’s Darth Vader (75111) set. Quite frankly, I’m not quite sure how much this latest iteration will be different from the previous one. We just have to wait and see.

Yoda’s Hut (75208)

yodas hut a3d1133d

This is another intriguing LEGO set straight from Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back which includes Yoda, Luke, and R2-D2. It is interesting to see how LEGO will render the home and final resting place of the famed Jedi Master

2018 Rumored LEGO Nexo Knights Sets

Yep, you heard it right. It seems that the seemingly ill-fated, original LEGO theme is back with another shot for fandom. Considered by some as an unholy fusion between the LEGO Castle and Space themes, the theme was often criticized as visually unappealing and lacking a good sense of brick aesthetics. This led to speculations that LEGO may be pulling the plug anytime soon for the Nexo Knights. However, Sir von LEGO revealed that the heroes of Knighton may have another year, as LEGO will be rolling out six (6) additional sets (which he claims to have seen himself) that will have our knightly heroes pitting against new enemies.

  • Lance’s Hiver Jouster (72001)
  • Twinfector (72002)
  • Berserker Bomber (72003)
  • Tech WiZard (72004)
  • X-bow (72005)
  • Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006)

Again, be reminded that these are all considered rumors until such time that LEGO confirms them or officially announces them. Are you excited about these sets? Which do you think will be the most popular among them if ever they turn out to be actual sets for next year? Share us what you think in the comments below.

LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 (75828) Officially Revealed

It was roughly 4 days ago when he had our first glimpse of the LEGO Ghostbusters vehicles courtesy of just2good at Eurobricks, and this time, it seems that Amazon Japan has updated its LEGO database with the set’s official box art image. Take a look. The Amazon Japan listing further states that the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 (75828) is scheduled to be released locally on July 22 – exactly a week after the movie’s 2016 femme fatale remake debuts in US theaters on July 15. The set is believed to have 556 pieces, together with all the modern Ghostbusters minifigures – all five of them – gathered in one set. With a great deal on the number of minifigs that come with the set, then a price point of $59.99 sounds reasonable.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series – Mr. Freeze (30603) Polybag Now Officially Available

There has been some recent hype (and worry) about the limited availability of the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series – Mr. Freeze (30603) polybag, which was first spotted at the New York Toy Fair a couple of days ago. Some feared that the said piece is only made available during that event, same with what LEGO does with its other promotional exclusives.

30603 1

Well, we can set aside our fears since LEGO has officially announced that the Mr. Freeze minifigure will be made available through all LEGO Stores, and online at shop.LEGO.com along with a minimum purchase of $75 of any LEGO product. LEGO’s April 2016 Store Calendar also mentioned that the coveted minifigure will only be made available from April 1-15, 2016 or while supplies last, limited to only one minifigure per customer. We can just hope that LEGO has plenty of stocks to go around since this cool minifig is surely destined to be a hot item.

Other than the store debut of the Mr. Freeze minifigure, the following are some of the April highlights in all LEGO Stores:

April 1 – we’ll see the debut of new LEGO sets based on the Angry Birds Movie, together with LEGO Juniors Lost Temple (10725), LEGO DC Comics Superheroes: Batman Gotham City Cycle Chase (76053), LEGO Elves: The Water Dragon (41172), and LEGO Minecraft: The End Portal (21124)

April 5 to 6 – The Monthly Mini Model Build features a Bumblebee.

April 11 to15 – The LEGO Ideas Maze Competition every 5 pm onwards. Brick fans will get a firsthand look on LEGO’s new Ideas- based product (21305) which may debut on LEGO World Copenhagen. We’ll keep you posted on this.

April 18 – Minifigure Swap Monday on all LEGO Stores.

April 25 to May 8 – LEGO Elves: Sira’s Adventurous Glider goes for FREE with a Friends, Elves, or LEGO Brand Disney Princess purchase of $35 or more.

Check out their April calendar here for more info.
