On the LEGO Ideas blog, they have revealed the next official product, the Research Institute. The set is based on Alatariel’s Female Minifigure Set and will feature three female scientists. As we reported earlier, the set will have set number 21110 and will retail for $19.95.
An interesting article came out from The Brick Fan yesterday regarding the next LEGO Ideas product. A post from a thread on future product releases and rumored prices on Brickpicker just says “21110 Research Institute $19.95” and suggests that the next official set will be based on the Female Minifigure Set. TBF put together some points such as the set number which comes after the Exo Suit 21109 and the set name which was listed in the project description. The project proposed by Alatariel included 3 minifigures including an astronomer, paleontologist, and a chemist.
There are more details coming out from Eurobricks of the rumored LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I that is supposedly being released later this year. The information was obtained by the forum member from a LEGO product design manager and suggests that the set will be based on Boba Fett’s starship. The Boba Fett minifigure will have a new design and the model of the ship will be similar to the size of the Imperial Star Destroyer 75055.
The Brick Fan has put together an interesting theory that the LEGO DC Super Heroes UCS Tumbler 76023 will be revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The new July store calendar shows that a set will be revealed there and Brickset has recently updated their database with the listing so it’s logical that the the UCS Tumbler will be the set that will be shown off to the public next month. Brickpicker has posted that it will go for $199.99 but we’ll have to see when LEGO officially announces it. We’ll have more details of it then but check out our review below of the polybag 30300 where we first mentioned the UCS version.
The latest LEGO Minecraft set The End is now available on J!NX to order for $34.99. This is a microworld set that features a buildable world as well as the Ender Dragon and Enderman Micromob figures.
I was at my local Toys ‘R Us (Mall of Georgia) yesterday and discovered a mix of the 2014 summer LEGO sets. We found it interesting that it was such a random mix between multiple themes.
