New LEGO Christmas Box (40292) Gift With Purchase Set Announced

The LEGO Store November Calendar in China has made its way online, and it gives us a glimpse of our next limited edition, seasonal gift with purchase (GWP) set just in time for the holidays. Bouwsteentjes has shared an image of the said calendar, and with it comes the reveal of the LEGO Christmas Box (40292).

As you can see, there are also other familiar promotions such as the rumored microscaled LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) which we will talk later on, and the LEGO Minifigure Collector Frame (5005359). However, the most noticeable and appealing of all is the new LEGO Christmas Box (40292). Similar to the concept and design of Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures (75952), the LEGO Christmas Box features a holiday-themed vignette cleverly hidden inside a gift box. The build itself has a removable lid and opens at the middle to reveal a cozy, indoor holiday winter scene.

Being a limited edition promotional gift with purchase set, it should be expected that limited quantities will be available once this is offered at the end of the month. I’m not quite sure if it will also follow the same time frame in the US and the rest of the world, but you can bet that it will come in limited quantities.

If we read it right, the LEGO Store November Calendar from China also mentions a specific number of the LEGO Christmas Box sets that will be given away. If that is the case, then better expect that this set will surely go out fast.

I love the idea behind a surprise build, similar to the recently announced LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315). It’s those little surprises that make a LEGO set extra special, even more as it comes as a limited edition, seasonal set. I just hope that LEGO will upload its official images soon so we can have a better look.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) Officially Revealed

After releasing a video teaser a few of days ago, LEGO has officially revealed the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) now listed at LEGO Shop@Home. Based from the original product idea of Jason Allemann and Grant Davis, the Pop-Up Book is the very first of its kind where it features a pop-up build that tells two classic fairy tales in one set, nicely rendered in LEGO bricks. Gorgeous both inside and out, the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book comes in dark green and red colors and unique, printed parts. I wasn’t sure before if those were actual printed parts and I was even inclined to think that they were stickers instead. As it is, LEGO went the extra mile of coming up with a new Once Upon a Brick printed tile and even had the names of Allemann and Davis printed on brown 1×8 tiles. I feel this is a good start for future LEGO Ideas sets where fan designers get recognized through the actual set by having a special, commemorative LEGO piece dedicated to them and included in each set.

London LEGO-Themed “Brick Bar” for AFOLs Accepting Bookings for 2019 Pop-Up Opening

Way back at the start of this year, a pop-up establishment momentarily operated in Australia that drew the interest of AFOLs looking for a place to have a cold drink while indulging in their brick-building hobby. While it has no official connections to The LEGO Group, the titular Brick Bar was a hit due to being built out of millions of bricks, with loose pieces available for their customers’ perusal.

Several months later, news has come that the Brick Bar pop-up concept is ready to rock a new country, this time the UK in London. It’ll run for just three days with only ticket access allowed for any interested guests.

From April 26 to 28 next year, the Brick Bar will be serving drinks and offering LEGO pieces for play fun at its proposed pop-up location in Shoreditch, London. Patrons will get to appreciate the various brick-built sculpture designs inside the venue (the LEGO name isn’t mentioned in the premises for legal purposes).

Guests are freed to build and customize the bricks in the bar, while listening to local DJs doing their sets and tucking in for food and drinks. Creative builders may also get to win prizes from staff.

The Brick Bar in London will likely follow its Australian incarnation by being open morning to evening. Under-18s are allowed in only until 6 PM to leave the place for grownups and AFOLs as it gets dark. The first batch of 500 tickets (£20-£25 per head) for access to the bar are available for advance booking now, with each ticket allowing 90 minutes in the establishment to dine and play. Food items include Brick Burgers, and beverage selections will have cocktails and alcohol coming out at 6 in the evening.

LEGO Ideas Promotes PI that Deserves Support: “Disney World Main Street Train Station”

With regards to LEGO Ideas, that ingenious submission platform for MOCs to become official branded sets, the First 2018 Review Stage concluded with two new upcoming Ideas sets; the Second 2018 Review Stage is currently ongoing, and the 10-K passers are starting to fill up for the yet-initiated Third Stage.

Now where product ideas that have been submitted to LEGO Ideas are concerned, promotion for them to gain support falls on their respective creators, though sometimes supportive voices with a social media platform can “campaign” for them on LEGO news sites and boards. But LEGO Ideas itself might feature notable product ideas on their own.

So it was that the Ideas staff posted a link to one set that looks fit to be supported on their official Twitter page. It’s the “Disney World Main Street Train Station” submitted by member DAB0526. It’s a beautiful scale replica of the Main Street USA entrance area for the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida. It even comes with a model Walter E. Disney train on included tracks.

Thus far, DAB0526’s Disney World Main Street Train Station has gain 970 supporters on LEGO Ideas, with 97 days left to hit the magic 10-K count. Comments on the Staff Pick feature on Twitter have been very positive, with some even advocating for the birth of a modular Disney theme park series featuring separate themed area sets to make a whole park. That sounds like fun, and hopefully, this product idea gets some spotlight so that the notion can be explored further in the future.

Rumor: List of “Leaked” LEGO Tie-In Sets for 2019’s “Avengers 4”

Some movie fans might say that if they want spoilers regarding an upcoming franchise movie, they just need to keep an eye on upcoming LEGO set news or rumors. Indeed, sometimes when word of a new set tying in to a film yet to release comes out in online discussion, they tend to reveal details.

Case in point, there’s still nothing but sparse details about the 2019 MCU installment Avengers 4; it doesn’t even have a subtitle yet even now. But perhaps the set of rumors newly provided by LEGO news Instagrammer falconfan1414 might shed light on what might be expected. He has listed five Avengers 4 tie-ins with working titles thus far, though the names hint at things we might watch out for when the movie premieres next year.

Captain America Kit: $20 and 167 pieces
War Machine Vehicle: $35 and 362 pieces
Iron Man location set: $60 and 524 pieces
Avengers 4 big vehicle: $80 and 832 pieces
Avengers 4 location set: $100 and 699 pieces

There’s our list of rumored LEGO Marvel Avengers 4 sets. The spotlights on Iron Man (first MCU hero) and Cap (recently hinted to be retired by actor Chris Evans) are expected, but a set for War Machine is interesting. Then again, his character (and actor Don Cheadle) got hyped up as a “Thanos survivor” in other Disney promotional things, so there’s that.

In closing, we again reiterate that when we share info titled as “Rumor”, then its veracity is up in the air until LEGO has its say on the matter, no matter how many times falconfan1414 may have gotten some things right in the past. That said, Avengers 4 will premiere next year on May 3.

List of Character Cheat Codes Discovered (So Far) for “LEGO Disney Super-Villains”

Have any of our LEGO-fan and gamer readers gotten their copies of LEGO DC Super-Villains yet? Are you enjoying your run as a DC baddie palling around with other big-name DC baddies? Then how about playing the game like a real villain by getting ahead of the storyline via cheats?

Days following its release, LDCSV now has quite the number of cheat codes discovered. These codes primarily consists of character unlocks for some of the many, many heroes and baddies included in the complete roster. That would be really helpful for unscrupulous power-gamers; but how do you enter cheats here?

Entering codes in the game isn’t even possible until the player completes the first storyline mission (where Joker flees by chopper). Upon getting to the “main hub” area, players should find a large Joker face in one corner. It can be interacted by pressing “Circle” (PS4) or “B” (Xbox One).

Here you can now enter specific alphanumeric codes that are spelled out in the Joker-face’s upper teeth. If you enter a legit code the associated character is unlocked…but not instantly. Some characters need to be used in their first story mission before becoming available; others need to be listed for purchasing by studs first (the cheat merely makes them “free” to buy once they’re put on the shop). Various gaming sites have listed these same codes and confirmed them viable.

Anyway, once a player has entered cheats on the Joker face at least once, then once they leave the hub they can automatically return there for more cheating by going to the “Extras” option in the Menu.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is now available in North America, with a worldwide release on the 19^th, and has versions for the Sony PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

Host Revealed and Casting Starts for “LEGO Masters” Australian Version

Back in July, it was revealed that LEGO Masters, the brick-building reality competition for LEGO fans produced by Tuesday’s Child for Channel 4 in the UK, has been picked up by reality programming distributor Endemol Shine Group, with the intent of having localized versions produced in countries around the world.

The first two countries to take up that gauntlet have been Germany and Australia, the latter intended to be aired on major network Channel Nine. Just over three months since the news broke, Channel Nine made a little teaser on Wednesday about their own LEGO Masters show, particularly about who they’ve tapped to host it.

Australian comedian and actor Hamish Blake is set to be the host of LEGO Masters Australia, as was seen during a trade show where Channel Nine was previewing its upcoming new programs. Blake got on stage wearing a life-sized minifigure bodysuit and introduced himself by taking the smiley headpiece off.

This version of LEGO Masters has already begun casting for contestants, adults and minors in solo or teams, all ready to face the various large-scale LEGO building challenges that await them to be crowned the LEGO Master of Australia. The show starts sometime in 2019.

One More Amazon Deal: LEGO Creator Winter Village Station (10259)

And once again, Amazon is out with the LEGO set love. They’re sharing it of course with their loyal customers, especially those hunting for priced-down LEGO. This week already had them offer discounted entries for the Ideas and Marvel product lines; now it’s for their seasonal Holiday-themed series on LEGO Creator, the Winter Village Station (10259).

Just to be specific, that’s not the Winter Village Fire Station (10263) set that came out this year. Instead, what Amazon has got on a huge discount sale is the Winter Village Station (10259). It came out last 2017 as a complement to the Winter Holiday Train (10254) that was released back in 2016.

From its SRP of $79.99, Amazon his helpfully bumping it down to $54.99, a lovely discount of 31% for a set that barely reaches a thousand pieces in quantity. If any collectors of the near-decade old Winter Village theme on LEGO Creator expert sets are behind in getting them all, you’ll surely be hard-pressed finding a value equal to this.

In the meantime, the Winter Village Fire Station (10263) is available now for $99.99 on Shop@Home and LEGO Brand Stores. It’s the ninth entry in the Winter Village theme, just as the Winter Village Station (10259) is the eighth overall.

LEGO DC Super-Villains Out Now!

It has been teased, previewed, discussed, and looked over so many times not just with us here on The Brick Show but on other LEGO and videogame news sources everywhere. But all the speculation and anticipation has gone on long enough. On Tuesday, October 16, LEGO DC Super-Villains hits US shelves and online.

That’s right. The wait is over and every decent citizen in the LEGO DC game universe crafted by WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales had better start hiding in their basements. LEGO DC Super-Villains is here and this time the players are controlling the bad guys. They even get original-character villain avatars themselves!

But then you already know that from as recently as the launch trailer. As DC Entertainment VP Interactive and Animation Ames Kirshen would put it, “DC has some of the most popular Super-Villains in the world and it’s exciting to see these characters call the shots in this new game.”

LEGO DC Super-Villains can now be found in video game stores or bought online. Per WBI and TT practice with their prior titles, regular versions are $59.99 while the deluxe versions are $74.99 each, which includes a Season Pass, the DC Super-Villains: TV Series DLC Character Pack and an exclusive Lex Luthor physical minifigure.
