We’ve finally got the nitty-gritty about what LEGO’s going to be up to next month, with the release of the LEGO Store May promotional calendar that we’ve covered earlier. LEGO Star Wars, most especially the tie-in merchandise for the Solo spinoff, occupied prominent spots, but there was space for other fandoms too.
For instance, at the back of the calendar there was a small box announcing an upcoming new BrickHeadz set with two figures of DC characters. It should be noted that Superman already has a prior BrickHeadz version of himself with the Superman & Wonder Woman (41490) SDCCexclusive while Batman has two: the Batman & The Joker (41491), also another 2016 SDCC exclusive, and the LEGO Batman Movie Batman BrickHeadz (41585). This time around, they’re making a comeback now rendered in Justice League looks.
This new LEGO BrickHeadz set is a 2-pack of Batman in his “Tactical” armored suit and Superman of course, as seen in the Warner Bros. DCEU film Justice League from last year. The LEGO DC Justice League BrickHeadz Tactical Batman and Superman (41610) both features design aesthetics as seen from the characters in the Justice League film – from the lines in Superman’s suit to Batman’s “abdominal armor” detailing.
As with most other LEGO BrickHeadz twofer packages, this newest addition will be priced at $19.99 when it comes out in May. With their release, all membersof the movie-version Justice League will have gotten BrickHeadz adaptations, making for a nice little collection.
Star Wars and LEGO fans rejoice, for there are plenty of exciting things to look forward to at your local LEGO store come month of May. LEGO has now officially released its LEGO Store May Calendar and with it, comes plenty of exciting, soon-to-be revealed set and promos that coincide with next month’s titular, May the 4th celebrations. The official trailer of the Solo: A Star Wars story has finally been dropped on the Internet. And just in time with the trailer’s release, LEGO has finally broken its silence and has released its long overdue official images of its LEGO tie-in counterparts.
If you recall since early last March, we already spotted these official images as they made their appearance in various online retailer sites around the globe. However, they came only in bits and pieces which really doesn’t give us a comprehensive look at what each of the LEGO Star Wars Han Solo sets have to offer. After the official unveiling of the very first Disney Pixar/LEGO video game last week, we now have some particularly interesting details that set the LEGO Incredibles 2 video game apart from other LEGO game titles. The Insider managed to land an interview with TT Games Executive Producer Nick Ricks, where the latter revealed some pretty interesting gameplay that will not just involve the Parr family, but also an expansive array of other characters as well.
Ricks tells Insider that the development of the LEGO Incredibles 2 video game had begun since early 2016, with close collaboration with Disney Pixar to make sure that the characters and story remain true to the original.
“This collaboration certainly comes through strongly with the innovations we’ve made in the characters designs and abilities, along with ensuring the dialogue, scene selection and camera work are some of the best that I’ve ever seen. On top of this we have a massive open-world hub, filled with crime lords that must be cleaned up, all new ways to build immense Lego structures and focus on the Parr family’s collaborative crime-fighting results.”.
Ricks also disclosed that the upcoming game will also feature a ‘massive open-world hub’ which they refer to as ‘crime waves’. He really cannot say if this LEGO Incredibles 2 world hub will be as immense as that of LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, but what is interesting is the potential scope and game play that this world hub will feature. For sure, locations like Municiberg and Syndrome’s Nomanisan Island will be referred to as well.
Alongside the narratives of both films, we’ve crammed our world full of the challenges and puzzles players have come to expect, and added something new; crime waves. In these sections, our massive hub world has been sub-divided in to a series of districts, each under the dominion of an infamous crime lord. The players will need to use the family’s differing and unique crime-fighting styles to defeat the goons, confront the lords, and bring law and order to all.”
Other than confirming that material and storylines from both films will be featured in LEGO Incredibles 2, the game becomes more engaging with the several challenges and puzzles that will be included in its massive world hub. Without giving too much spoilers about the upcoming sequel, Rick confirmed that a host of playable characters will be available other than the titular members of the Parr family. I can just imagine a host of Supers that were briefly showed in the first film getting their own digital LEGO minifigure versions.
The Crime Waves sections are something to look to forward to, and we still yet to see if LEGO Incredibles 2 will be as expansive as that of TT Games’ LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2. In any case, this one LEGO video game title that we will watch out for just in time with the film’s theatrical release on June 15. If you’re excited about this game as much as we are, then here’s the game’s official trailer once again. You can also pre-order your copy depending on your preferred platform.
It looks like we now have our first official image and more product details for the LEGO Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom T-Rex Transport (75933). If you recall from last February just in time with LEGO’s reveal at the New York Toy Fair of the new tie-in LEGO Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom sets, we came to know that there will be at least five sets to be offered sometime in June, together with two additional JWFK sets that were disclosed via Walmart’s online portal.
To our surprise, it turns out that LEGO has another one hidden under its sleeves when the LEGO Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom T-Rex Transport (75933) wasspottedover at eBay sometime last month. Coming in at 609 pieces, this set particularly highlights that scene in the film where the team of Zia Rodriguez (played by Daniella Pineda) tries to restrain the mighty T. Rex, as they prep it for transport.
This time around, Walmartupdates its listing once again to now include our first official, high-resolution image of the mighty T-Rex in its most recent LEGO form. Check out the following set image of the T-Rex Transport (75933), together with some interesting product description. Take a look.
LEGO Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom T-Rex Transport (75933)
Track the Tyrannosaurus Rex in this big-action play set scene inspired by Jurassic World and return it to the transporter, featuring a single-seater truck, detachable container with opening and lockable side panels, and a mobile laboratory unit. This T. rex toy includes 3 minifigures and 2 dinosaur figures.
Includes 3 minifigures: Zia and 2 guards, plus 2 dinosaur figures.
Features a single-seater truck and a detachable trailer with a containment unit that has opening and lockable side panels, landing gear, plus a mobile medical unit and monitoring system with 2 transfusion leads.
Rex features posable limbs, head and snapping jaws.
Weapons include a gun stud shooter and a shock prod.
Unlock the containers side panels and stage a T. rex escape!
Remove the mobile laboratory unit from the transporter and attach the leads to the dinosaurs to perform an emergency blood transfusion!
This T. rex toy is suitable for ages 7-12. Truck measures over 3 (8cm) high, 5 (14cm) long and 3 (8cm) wide.
Trailer with containment unit measures over 6 (16cm) high, 6 (17cm) long and 3 (9cm) wide.
Tyrannosaurus Rex stands over 6 (17cm) high.
Now it is kind of interesting to see how this dino ‘emergency blood transfusion’ will play in the film. I feel that the need for this emergency procedure is somehow a crucial part in the film. It is sure is interesting to see how this will be revealed in the big screen.
We don’t have an exact retail price yet, but we will keep you posted and keep this piece of news under the radar.
After the reveal of the LEGO Star Wars Mini BB-8 (40288) as this year’s exclusive LEGO May the 4th freebie, we now have more info on what to expect on this grand day for LEGO Star Wars fans. Based once again on the LEGO Spring Catalog which is now made available in North America (included with purchases via shop.LEGO.com), we can now have a good look at what LEGO has prepared to sweeten its LEGO Star Wars deals on May 4.
As mentioned, we have the exclusive Mini BB-8 (40288) polybag which is only available for a day on May 4. This mini brick-built figure of the cutest droid around comes free with any purchase of LEGO Star Wars sets worth $75 and above.
Lastly, though this is not exactly a May the 4th deal, please take note that the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) promo will run starting April 13 to May 3, or until supplies last. This much awaited LEGO pod comes free with any LEGO Star Wars purchases worth $60 and above made on during the said dates.
Last week, we reported that the upcoming LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promotional will be very much similar to last year’s buildable R2-D2 (30611) polybag, and it looks like that our next similar promotional will be getting its inspiration from another one of Star Wars most famous droids. The confirmation comes from the LEGO Store Spring Catalog which is reported to be shipped together with sets that were ordered via LEGO Shop@Home, according to Promobricks. Based on one of its pages, this year’s May the 4th Promotional will be the LEGO Star Wars Mini BB-8 (40288) polybag as you can see below.
Similar to last year, this Mini-BB8 polybag will only be available on May 4, during which, it comes free for every $75 single receipt purchase of any LEGO Star Wars sets. This brick built figure is a whole lot different from TRU’s microbuild polybag Bricktober promo – first, it’s significantly large as compared from the previous TRU microbuild promo, giving the Mini BB-8 (40288) polybag an expected larger piece count. And secondly, like last year’s builable R2-D2 polybag, it comes with a uniquely printed dome piece, and 6×6 satellite dishes surrounding its body to give this mini BB-8 a spherical look.
Considering that this is only made available for a day, we can expect that this promotional will become one of the hottest, sought after items come May 4. So if you’re planning to purchase online, be sure to be quick on those mouse clicks once the clock strikes 12 midnight of May 4. If you prefer to drop by at your local LEGO store, then don’t forget to ask for this little buildable guy.
With so many entertainment franchises around us, branding has become an essential means of standing out. Warner Bros. had a brilliant idea going when with the impending release of the next installment for the Fantastic Beasts spinoff of the Harry Potter films they’d group the two together under one banner.
That’s why The Crimes of Grindelwald is now prefaced in its trailer with the “Wizarding World” label, covering the movie adaptations of the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling and the Fantastic Beasts films which have the British author as screenwriter. Companies making Potter-verse tie-in merchandise are now following suit.
Of course, that also includes LEGO. Already the official website has begun work on a Harry Potter mini-section to be branded after “JK Rowling’s Wizarding World™”. This of course is in line with both the impending premiere of The Crimes of Gridelwald and the wave of upcoming LEGO Potter sets.
Said LEGO merchandise is roughly divided into tie-ins for Harry Potter and for Fantastic Beasts. For the latter, we have the “Grindelwald’s Escape” set (yet unnumbered) that captures a scene from the film hinted at in its first trailer; for the former, we have the magnificent Hogwarts Great Hall (75954).
And the deluge will not be stopping there. Other products such as Harry Potterminifigure collections and BrickHeadz sets are still waiting in the wings for releasing later this year. It’s a sure bet that these items will be populating the Wizarding World section of LEGO.com once it’s fully operational.
After its appearance on the shelves of LEGOLAND Discovery Center last week, it looks like the LEGO BrickHeadz counterparts of Mr. Incredible and Frozone will also be available through other retailers. This is particularly the case with Toys R Us Singapore as they’ve listed the LEGO BrickHeadz Mr. Incredible and Frozone (41613) on their web store. Additionally, TRU’s regional site posted some crisp images of the set and its accompanying product description as you can see below.
Build your own LEGO® BrickHeadz™ 41613 Mr. Incredible & Frozone from Disney|Pixar’s blockbuster Incredibles 2 movie, with this special double pack! Check out the crime-fighting duo’s super costumes and then display them on their baseplates for all your friends to see.

This particular BrickHeadz tandem is expected to be available in the market sometime this month, followed by the recently spottedLEGO BrickHeadz Back to the Future Marty and Doc (41611) set which is now making rounds over at Target stores.
After the reveal of the exclusive LEGO Incredibles 2 Edna minifigure as a GameStop exclusive in the US, we now have a closer look at this video game minifig promotional. Listed over at eBay by a certain klocego1, the following images give us a better scrutiny of our superhero stylist’s minifig counterpart.
As you can see from this image, this Edna exclusive minifigure comes with dual-sided face print as most of you have probably guessed. However, though I always appreciate dual-sided printing in any particular minifig, this version of Edna Mode somehow falls short of how I expect her to see in minifigure form. It will be better if she has the same detailing like how she is presented in the video game’s teaser trailer.
I understand that it is not cost-effective for LEGO to create and produce the same hairpiece and eye glasses mould in such small quantities, but it looks certainly better than having the glasses printed. With regards to the head print, I feel that E’s digital version in the video game trailer is closer to her big screen rendition. I wish LEGO could have done better with this particular design. On a more positive note, it’s good that the Edna minifig has front and back torso prints. The red v-neck accent is pretty spot-on against a predominantly black color scheme, as well as her shirt’s stripped pattern.
In any case, since this is a video game exclusive similar to the Giant-Man minifigure that came with the LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 video game released last November, then I understand that the Edna Mode minifigure will possibly be on the A-list of some LEGO minifig connoisseurs. So what do you think brick fans, will this minifig version of E motivate you to pre-order the LEGO Incredibles 2 video game? Let us know in the comments below.
