An interesting article came out from The Brick Fan yesterday regarding the next LEGO Ideas product. A post from a thread on future product releases and rumored prices on Brickpicker just says “21110 Research Institute $19.95” and suggests that the next official set will be based on the Female Minifigure Set. TBF put together some points such as the set number which comes after the Exo Suit 21109 and the set name which was listed in the project description. The project proposed by Alatariel included 3 minifigures including an astronomer, paleontologist, and a chemist.
The July 2014 LEGO store calendar is now available and there are a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles promos going on in the month. The main promo for July is a Flashback Shredder minifigure with a $75 purchase or more. VIP members can get an extra 50 VIP points by purchasing the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase 79121. The Monthly Mini Build will be a beach van. From July 18-31, VIP members can get early access to a new exclusive set. On July 24th, LEGO will announce a new set at San Diego Comic Con. This set could be the UCS Tumbler we reported on earlier.
There are more details coming out from Eurobricks of the rumored LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I that is supposedly being released later this year. The information was obtained by the forum member from a LEGO product design manager and suggests that the set will be based on Boba Fett’s starship. The Boba Fett minifigure will have a new design and the model of the ship will be similar to the size of the Imperial Star Destroyer 75055.
The Brick Fan has put together an interesting theory that the LEGO DC Super Heroes UCS Tumbler 76023 will be revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The new July store calendar shows that a set will be revealed there and Brickset has recently updated their database with the listing so it’s logical that the the UCS Tumbler will be the set that will be shown off to the public next month. Brickpicker has posted that it will go for $199.99 but we’ll have to see when LEGO officially announces it. We’ll have more details of it then but check out our review below of the polybag 30300 where we first mentioned the UCS version.
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham was announced today (see trailer below) and will be coming to all major consoles, handhelds and the PC with a release date of Fall 2014. The storyline follows Batman on an intergalatic adventure seeking to stop Braniac from destroying Earth. Brainic is using the power of the Lantern Rings to miniaturize cities and Batman and other DC heroes will visit different Lantern Worlds to collect the Rings to try and stop Braniac.
The game will feature 150 characters from the DC universe. It was unveiled that Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy will be featured as larger characters much as The Hulk and Abomination was in the LEGO Marvel video game. In addition, the sequel will allow players to visit the Hall of Justic, the Justice League Watchtower and the Batcave.
From a toy perspective we really hope a few minifigs shown in the trailer will be coming to minifig form (Intergalactic Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Cyborg).

From the picture, the workshop seems a little small, but we will have to wait to see what the other side looks like before passing judgement. A small toy factory and North Pole sign also are seen in the distance.
