Warner Bros Interactive and TT Games’ latest LEGO video game LEGO Star Wars – The Force Awakens has been out since last week and with it comes tons of bonus game features such as more than 150 playable characters spanning across the entire Star Wars saga. In a touch of LEGO brand humor, game developers included another character that will add a little more fun in an already awesome game. In case you haven’t unlocked him or have seen the walkthrough videos yet, you might be surprised to know that TFA director JJ Abrams gets his own LEGO minifig version and is now playable as one of the characters in the game. Watch this video from TT Games courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter (THR).

As you can see, JJ Abrams’ minifigure rendition comes with a camera mounted on his back, a blaster and what seems to be a grappling gun on the side. It’s kind of cool how LEGO was able to transform the acclaimed director in this minifig version, including all the fine details such as his clothes, hair style and eye glasses. The camera piece he carries is a giveaway clue in case gamers can’t still figure out the semblance, though it is yet to be seen if that camera is of any use to JJ Abrams playable character.

As noted by THR, Abrams is one of the two real-world characters that were included in the game, together with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “The presence of both executives was kept under wraps until after the game’s release as a surprise for those who dived into the block-build version of the popular movie,” Graeme McMillan of THR wrote.

Unlike Finn, Rey, Hans Solo and the rest of The Force Awakens cast whose original dialogues were featured in the game, the JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy minifigures does not feature any voice acting. Nevertheless, the director and producer both gave their thumbs up approval for their inclusion in the roster.

LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens is now available via Amazon and playable across all major gaming platforms. If you haven’t tried the game yet, you might want to check out our first wave of video walkthroughs courtesy of Brick Show’s in-house master gamer, Brian.

Here’s A Look At The Official Images Of LEGO’s Exclusive July Promotional – The Classic Knights Set 5004419.

Advertisements

We have another reason to be excited this month of July, especially after LEGO published its July Store Calendar.  Starting June 30 until July 10, LEGO VIP members will be treated to an exclusive promotional for purchases of any LEGO sets worth $50 and above. This is one exclusive that is expected to run out fast since it is quite rare that LEGO releases some of its classic collections, similar to their previous Classic Spaceman Minifigure (5002812) promotional back in 2014, and the Classic Pirate Minifigure in 2015.

This year, LEGO brings back another classic, coming straight from the medieval times – the LEGO Classic Knights Set 5004419. LEGO has uploaded the official images for this retro-themed set at cache.LEGO.com, which gives us a closer look at this impressive promotional. The box itself is exquisitely impressive that it is good enough to be a collectible. It even pays tribute to the older LEGO System by adding a touch of nostalgia with its box design and logo.

5004419 comes with a Classic Knight minifigure reminiscent from the early 80’s as you can see from the free collectible stickers that comes bundled with it.

For a promotional price point of $50, this is one extremely good catch considering the many exclusives that LEGO will be releasing starting this month like the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto 1 & Ecto 2 (75828) and the LEGO Creator Big Ben (10253) just to name a few. You may also check out on Stephen reviews of the 75828 and 10253 over at our YouTube channel.

So what do you think of this month LEGO Store promotional? Let’s talk about it in the comments section below.

More 2017 LEGO Mighty Micros Revealed!

Advertisements

Two days ago, LEGO gave us a glimpse of their 2017 DC Superheroes Mighty Micros, expected to debut at the San Diego Comic-Con this month. Hot off the trail from this reveal, LEGO has just posted via their Facebook page a variant to their miniaturized, adorable creations.  We now have our first glimpse of LEGO’s Marvel Superheroes Mighty Micros line. Though LEGO has not yet provided the official names of these three pairs, guessing what they might be called based on these images, is a no-brainer.

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FLEGO%2Fposts%2F10153799189443403&width=500
Spider-Man VS The Scorpion

Wolverine VS Magneto

Iron Man VS Thanos

It’s kind of cute to see how LEGO was able to pattern these Mighty Micros vehicles similar to the color and personality of the superheroes/villains that ride them. Personally, I like how Magneto’s ride was built, highlighting the U-shape magnet on his car. The same goes for Thanos and his obsession to take hold of what’s known as the Infinity Gauntlet.

Similar to their DC counterparts, LEGO will showcase these sets at SDCC 2016 from July 21 to 24. However, they will be made available to the public by January next year retailing at $9.99. It seems that LEGO will have something under its sleeve, with more sets to be revealed as they walk the road leading to this year’s San Diego Comic Con. So be sure to bookmark our site for more LEGO news update only here at the Brick Show!

Finally! Here’s Our First Look On The Sonic LEGO Dimensions Minifigure.

Advertisements

LEGO Dimensions Series 2 has been making huge waves in the gaming industry with its tons of great reveals during last month’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). With a total of 30 licenses under its banner, it’s continually expanding selection of both classic and recent titles make LEGO Dimensions an enticing, and fun video game for the entire family. With more characters to be revealed , we now have our first look at one of LEGO Dimensions’ most anticipated minifigures.

Thanks to TT Games Producer Mark Warburton’s playful take on this latest wave of LEGO Dimensions, we managed to catch up with the fastest hedgehog on the face of the planet. Take a look at the images that Warburton posted on his Twitter page, just a couple of moments ago.

As it turns out, this is Sonic’s first public appearance in LEGO minifigure form which will be released in a Level Pack sometime in November. Though Warburton might have intentionally emphasized Sonic’s left side, still, the image says it all. LEGO deserves a pat on the shoulder for the impressive detailing of Sonic’s head piece.

The remaining, undisclosed LEGO Dimensions Series 2 is expected to be released in three consecutive waves sometime in November, and January and March next year. Wave 1 of Series 2 is expected to hit toy and gaming shelves on September 27, consisting of iconic characters from Harry Potter, the A-Team and Mission Impossible just to name a few. Grab this chance to be the one of the very first to own these groundbreaking LEGO Dimensions sets by pre-ordering at Wildcard Toys.

LEGO Unveils Its New Line Of DC Comics Superheroes Mighty Micros Sets For 2017 Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.

Advertisements

LEGO just recently announced via its Facebook page that we’ll be seeing more of its adorable chibi-sized LEGO Mighty Micros just in time for another great set of reveals at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) next month.

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FLEGO%2Fposts%2F10153795064888403&width=500

LEGO is known for featuring new sets and memorabilia during the said annual comic convention, and this time, excitement is building on what LEGO will unveil at the San Diego Convention Center come by July 21 to 24. Featuring the cute and miniaturized versions of our iconic DC superheroes together with their arch enemies, LEGO is expected to feature each of them during the SDCC. However, it is wise to keep our hands to ourselves since these LEGO Mighty Micros will not be available in the market until its launch day sometime next year. This confirms that LEGO has more in store for us with the Mighty Micros theme until 2017, and more so  under the DC Super Heroes banner.

Retailing next year at $9.99 each, these Mighty Micros feature classics such as Batman and Killer Moth, Wonder Woman VS Doomsday, and Superman VS Bizaaro as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.  Batman is featured in his classic caped crusader outfit together with the retro Batcopter, as he squares off with Killer Moth’s bug mobile. LEGO’s clever use of clear, transparent bricks outlines Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet as she faces the might of Doomsday. Finally, Superman battles his bizarre doppelganger, Bizarro, who now happens to be made available in a set rather than as a SDCC exclusive.

Batman VS Killer Moth

Wonder Woman VS  Doomsday

Superman VS Bizaaro

We’ll certainly keep watch as LEGO will have more surprises under its sleeve as we inch closer to this year’s biggest comic fan convention, so stay tuned here at the Brick Show!

Feast Your Eyes On Brickworld Chicago 2016’s World Of Lights!

Advertisements

This year’s Brickworld Chicago may have already been concluded, but the awe-inspiring LEGO MOCs and original creation by some of the country’s top LEGO Master Builders continue to linger on. One of the most memorable highlights of the 2-day event was the accustomed World of Lights presentation, usually held during the last night (which falls on a Saturday) of Brickworld when all of the program’s visitors have gone home already. This is a rare sight indeed, since only a few get to witness this.

The magic begins once the overhead lights of the Convention Center conference hall are turned off. Fitted with LED light strips, these MOC masterpieces become a one-of-a-kind festival of lights. Thankfully, Jason and the rest of the Brick Show team were there to witness the unveiling. Watch this.

These light-fitted MOCs were all equally impressive. However, I have to say that the LEGO Big Ben and Buckingham Palace MOCs are outstanding. Nick Jensen also had the rare opportunity of witnessing Brickworld’s World of Lights as you can see from some of his shots below. You may visit Nick’s Flickr page for more images of Brickworld Chicago and its World of Lights.

Take A Look At The LEGO Inside Tour 2016 Exclusive Set.

Advertisements

The last tour of this year’s famed LEGO Inside Tour has been finally concluded, and with it comes the exciting reveal of this year’s exclusive set that will leave its mark in the annals of LEGO history. Being a unique LEGO experience on its own held at the company’s headquarters in Billund, Denmark, the 2-day LEGO Inside Tour allows guests – 140 in all, divided into four groups – to see for themselves how LEGO bricks are made, to chat with top notch set designers, and to have an exclusive tour of the Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s original house and relive the humble beginnings of the most valued toy company in the world. You’ll also be delighted to know that LEGO managed to preserve their previous sets that they keep in their astounding vault.

Here’s what TLG has to say about the LEGO Inside Tour.

What is LEGO Inside Tour?

LEGO Inside Tour provides a unique look into the LEGO Group often referred to as ‘a once–in-a-lifetime experience’. You are invited inside Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s original house, featuring an extraordinary exhibition of LEGO sets and models that date back to 1934. You will meet LEGO employees and especially LEGO designers, who will introduce you to their daily work at the LEGO Group, and you will take part in a unique building experience together with LEGO designers. Part of the LEGO Inside Tour consists of a factory tour, where you can see how LEGO bricks are produced. LEGO Inside Tour also stops at the LEGO staff shop.

At the end of the tour, you will receive a unique gift exclusively produced in close cooperation with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen especially for this year’s LEGO Inside Tour participants.

The LEGO Group’s headquarters are based in Billund, Denmark, and here the LEGO Inside Tour will take place. Starting point of the 2-day tour is Hotel LEGOLAND®

So before we dive in to see the details of this year’s exclusive set, it is necessary to have a proper, insider perspective about the LEGO Inside Tour experience and to have a better appreciation of it. We’re fortunate to stumble upon an excellent piece written by Ms. Sophie of LCC Builders where she shared her once-in-a-lifetime experience of being a part of the LEGO Inside Tour. Be sure to check out her story right here.

This year’s LEGO Inside Tour is dedicated to the world’s largest and most beautiful LEGO truck ever made – the LEGO Truck Show (4000022). Thanks to Ms. Sophie for sharing these pictures of the LEGO Truck Show. Take a look.

Here’s a look at the front and back side of the LEGO Truck Show’s box packaging, courtesy once again of LCC Builders.

AFOL couple Daniel and Oriel Tsou from Singapore was fortunate enough to be a part of the first group who joined in this year’s LEGO Inside Tour. As soon as the last tour was concluded, they uploaded an excellent unboxing and review video of the LEGO Truck Show via their YouTube channel. Watch this.

For those of you who will keep a close watch for next year’s LEGO Inside Tour, be on the lookout this October and November since they usually open the registration for this special LEGO program as early as these months. Be sure to visit the LEGO Inside Tour webpage for more updates.

A big thanks once more to Ms. Sophie of LCC Builders and Allen Tran from the Brick Fan.
