Early this May we got wind of a new LEGO set depicting a new spin on their past retail store models like the LEGO Brand Retail Store (40145). This new LEGO Brand Store (40305) is a step up from past LEGO Store building sets in that it’s a two-story structure.
Our original report on the LEGO Brand Store (40305) was that it’s going to be a little promotional item like its older brothers. However, new information implies that this might no longer be accurate. Rather than a giveaway under certain conditions, it’s going to be available on store shelves instead.
This comes to us from German LEGO news site Zusammengebaut.com, which reports that the LEGO Brand Store (40305) has been spotted on display shelves at the LEGO Store in LEGOLAND Billund, the hometown of LEGO itself. It’s priced at 229.95 Danish kroner, so it’ll be $36.15 if it comes stateside.
As seen in the photo above, the set box actually looks rather beefy in size compared to the height of the shelf (stacked vertically, even) so it sort of makes it less likely that the LEGO Brand Store (40305) is a promotional, meaning there’s probably more of it churned out.
But we’re approaching speculation at this point. Thus far we’ve concluded that the first sighting of the LEGO Brand Store (40305) is as a sales item in LEGOLAND Billund’s LEGO Store. Now we’ll have to watch for more info on how the set will be presented anyplace else in future.
I wish this was in the Modular Buildings series.
