Last month, we had a glimpse of things to come for LEGO in 2017. Though unconfirmed (unless we hear from LEGO directly or we see the official pictures), we can somehow expect that there will be more than a hundred sets that will debut next year under various active LEGO themes. We already have some them revealed by the LEGO Group a couple of weeks back particularly those from the LEGO Marvel Superheroes line. We know that the Red Hulk was given the LEGO treatment with the Hulk VS Red Hulk (76078) set featuring big figs (of course) of the towering powerhouses coupled with the minifigure versions of the She-Hulk and her counterpart Red She-Hulk.
Another line of uber cute Mighty Micros is also slated to be available next year with the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros featuring three pairs of the most notable heroes and villains from the Marvel universe.
Recently, Brickset has updated its database by adding what seems to be the official names and set numbers of two of the sets that we reported earlier, with The Brick Fan providing some insight on what could be the sets’ noticeable features.
Captain America Jet Pursuit (76076) – Includes Steve Rogers Captain America, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), and Super Adaptoid.
Iron Man: Detroit Steel Strikes (76077) – Includes Agent Coulson with Lola, an “All-New, All-Different” Invincible Iron Man armor with his helmet from the Mighty Micros Iron Man vs Thanos (76072) set, and a brick-built Detroit Steel.
It was also mentioned that there will be a second wave of LEGO sets – with three sets to be exact – dedicated to the MCU sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which is slated to hit theaters in May of 2017. These 2017 LEGO Marvel Superheroes Guardians of the Galaxy sets is expected to be available just in time of the film’s release.
