Here’s Another Wave of 2017 LEGO Star Wars Rumors!

Hot on the heels of the latest sets rumored to be released under the LEGO Marvel Superheroes theme sometime next year, now comes another wave of unconfirmed reports (aka rumors) that fans of the brick-built galaxy far, far away will surely look forward to. We already know that we can expect around 14 new LEGO Star Wars sets to debut next year, and this time around Eurobricks Grand Dukes Klaus Dieter and CM4Sci gave us a few hints on how some of these sets will look like. Though these LEGO insiders have a reputation for stunningly accurate predictions, it is always prudent to bear in mind that these are all speculations until LEGO gives its press release and share to us the sets’ official images. The pictures shown below are for comparative purposes only and do not in any way represent the rumored LEGO sets.

According to Klaus Dieter,

I only can confirm following:

Duel of the Fates (75173)
– Darth Maul, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon
– Location about same size and style like this year’s Carbon Freezing Chamber, but main colors are black, blue and grey
– It shall symbolize the room where they fight and Qui-Gon dies

Desert Skiff (75174)
– Han, Chewy, Boba, Skiff Guard
– Only new minifig might be the skiff guard
– Boring since with minor changes it’s exactly the last version

Landspeeder (75169)
–  Obi-Wan, Luke, 3PO, Tusken Raider
– Boring since with minor changes it’s exactly the last version
– Which is really a shame is that there’s NO BANTHA INCLUDED!!!

The Phantom (75170) looked like a small version of an Imp. Shuttle and Yoda’s Starfighter (75168) like a dark green version of a regular Jedi Starfighter.

The set with Lando (75179) wasn’t shown there. So either it’s a Rogue One set or an exclusive. All RO sets were only shown as black boxes.

CM4Sci also offered his observations on how some of the above mentioned sets look and feel.  Though he and Klaus may be describing the same sets, they don’t necessarily share the same thoughts and opinions about them, especially with regards to the Desert Skiff (75174).

From what I saw the Skiff (75174) is very different, it uses flex tube railings on both ends, and the front is made of those curved shell pieces that Exo-Force used. Skiff Guard used the Nadakhan hair. The Sarlacc Pit is also a new build with rounded corners and the oval canopy piece in dark orange.

Thrawn’s torso was white

The Duel (75173) set looked like a round, raised platform with a hole in the middle, one section of curved wall in a corner, and an attached passageway with a function underneath that I assume disables the laser grid in front of Obi-Wan

The Landspeeder (75169) looked close to the 2014 one but the front was a brighter tan, and the thruster engine things on top and on the sides had dark orange R5 heads.

So what do you think about these rumors and predications? As exciting as these are with the myriad of LEGO sets that TLG is poised to release, it is still wise to consider these with a grain of salt. Share us your thoughts by dropping us a note in the comments section below.
