Official Star Wars Episode VIII Title Revealed, PLUS New LEGO Star Wars Set Numbers.

It’s official. After the raging success of the Star War’s first spin-off film, Rogue One, now comes that latest instalment in the Skywalker saga that is sure to take the box office by storm. StarWars.com has now officially revealed the title of its next film – Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. The site’s official Tweeter account has also pinned the following post together with this image.

Looking at this poster/image had my mind spinning, thinking all about its ramifications and implications. The title itself opens up a throng of questions on what it may suggest, and on what could be its overarching theme. Director Rian Johnson was quite succinct when he revealed that the title itself was on his mind since day one when he read the first draft of the script. For him, this is the title that he always wanted according to SWNN. It’s also interesting to note that Disney and Lucas Films’ choice of color for its iconic title design seems to suggest, a ‘darker’, and more sinister time for our heroes. Are we going to see more dangerous times ahead? Will the First Order eventually get the upper hand? Or does the title even suggest of a possibility for our heroine Rey ‘defecting’ to the Dark Side? These are all mind blowing questions to ponder about.

The Last Jedi becomes more intriguing when you consider that Brickset has already listed 7 LEGO sets tagged under the film’s title.

For sure a handful of folks from The LEGO Group are already aware of some of the film’s plot considering the amount of time needed to develop the final set design. We’re still months away before Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits the big screen on December 15, but given LEGO’s usual release dates in conjunction to the Star Wars films’ promotion, we can expect official images to be out around August or September.

So what do you think brick fans, are you excited about this next wave of LEGO Star Wars sets? What do you think the film is all about, and which LEGO Star Wars sets do you wish to be featured? Let us know in the comments below or join in the conversation over at our Facebook page.
