More LEGO Nexo Knights 2018 Reveal – the Twinfector (72002) and Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006).

More and more images of LEGO Knights 2018 sets are now making their way online. After the official reveal of the LEGO Nexo Knights Berserker Bomber (72003) from Toys R Us, we now have reports that other Nexo Knights sets have been spotted in the wild, apparently in an unnamed TRU branch. Thanks to Eurobricks forum member Robert8, we now have several box art images of two other Nexo Knights sets, leaving us with only 3 more sets out 6 waiting to be revealed. Please take note that this are not in any way can be considered as leaks, since they are now officially on display for purchase.

Here’s how they look.

Twinfector (72002)191 pieces

Those who are familiar with the Blacktron II theme from the 90s will easily recognize the apparent similarity that the Twinfector has with the classic Space subtheme. In fact not only this set, but even that of the Berserker Bomber and that of the Vyro Glyder from Axl’s Rolling Arsenal. It’s all too familiar trans-neon green on black color scheme brings back nostalgic memories. It further gives credence to the idea that LEGO intends to fuse the classic Space and Castle themes in a combined format with the hopes of making it appealing both to AFOLs and a younger generation of LEGO fans.

If there is anything that excites me about this upcoming wave of Nexo Knights sets, it is perhaps the look and feel of Knighton’s baddies, the Cyberbyters with their mysterious weaponry. It also includes a rather interesting new piece which seems to be the bane of Knighton’s champions – the tech-infected Critters. I’m surely looking forward to see how the rest of the Cyberbyters’ gear will turn out.

Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006)604 pieces

This set is the largest set that we have seen yet, coming in at 604 pieces. It is somewhat bulky, considering that it is literally a 4-in-1 vehicle set. According to the description provided in LEGO Life Magazine, the set includes Axl’s Tank, the detachable Jestroyer apparently piloted by Jestro, the Critter Trapper which is stored inside Axl’s tank, and the Vyro Glyder. Personally, I do not find Axl’s Rolling Arsenal really that appealing due to its yellow and gray colors, but the number of vehicles that goes with the set is a good deal in itself. Also, this is the first time that we see Jestro siding with the heroes of Knighton, which also somehow reflected in his more ‘knightly’, minifigure form.

If LEGO plans to release the Berserker Bomber (72003) on November 25 as announced in the December Store Calendar, then it is not a long shot to consider that we will be seeing the rest of these sets anytime next week.

  • Lance’s Hiver Jouster (72001)
  • Tech WiZard (72004)
  • X-bow (72005)
