First Look At The 2018 LEGO Speed Champions Set.

Earlier this month, we reported that the speedsters of the LEGO world will once again have their run this 2018, with another series of outstanding brick-built replicas of the world’s fastest race cars. Apparently, the LEGO Speed Champions theme will have six (6) sets under its belt for 2018, representing three of the biggest names in racing: Ford, Porsche and Ferrari.

A few days ago, an image of what looks like the LEGO Speed Champions Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC (75885) has been circulated via Reddit, and this time, we have another image that shows the rest of the sets, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from each of them.

Shared by mariopower.56 via Instagram, the image (though blurred a little bit) shows all six sets on what looks like an upcoming LEGO catalog. I opted to include the image of the actual vehicle that each set represents so you can have a better idea on how it looks. Take note that some of the set names that we reported before may not be final, so expect the possibility that it may be changed later on as LEGO see it fits.

So what do you think about these upcoming 2018 LEGO Speed Champions set? I’m personally getting that 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, being a fan of these roaring road monsters myself. Other than my personal preference towards the Mustang, I feel that this series is by far, the best work that LEGO’s Speed Champions designers ever came up with. Sure, you’ll thumbs may probably hate you after going through the ordeal of applying those insane amount of stickers, but the level of thoughtful designing that comes with these sets are very impressive. The 2018 LEGO Speed Champions sets are expected to be available sometime in February, so hopefully we’ll get to see their official images late January.

  1. We already have a 448 (it was the gt2 italia) why do we need 2 more versions of the same car? Looks like very little changes in bricks.
We also had a 919 hybrid.
The only one I’m excited for is the fastback definitely buying it the second I see it in stores, and maybe the 911 turbo 3.0

    1. That’s exactly what I was thinking about the Ferraris. Interestingly almost nobody else is thinking that way…
The Porsche 919 is okay, since it’s a real improvement when compared to its predecessor. But the price of the set is waaaay too much. 10,- € for these few extra bricks? Honestly?
The Mustang, indeed, is a must have! I definitely recommend modifying it, because its front is too short. Anyway, a sweet set!

  2. The actual rally car prototype is M-Sport 2017 Ford Fiesta WRC #2, driven by Ott Tänak, and not #5
