The cool thing about LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 from WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales is that they’re part of the greater Marvel brand synergy, meaning it updates and modifies its setting to coincide with the next big film release in the chart-topping and box office-busting Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. Ever since LMSH2 was released in November 2017, we saw this update synergy happen when Thor: Ragnarok premiered, then with Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War this year. This July another MCU movie is coming out, and with it, WB Interactive’s launch of the new Ant-Man and the Wasp DLC.
This new downloadable content is now available for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 players starting Tuesday, July 3. We can expect new Marvel characters based on how they appeared in the Ant-Man and the Wasp film premiering this coming Friday, and a new game level to explore too.
Our new LMSH2 level has Ant-Man Scott Lang return to the lab of his predecessor Dr. Hank Pym to foil a plot by super-villain Egghead, who’s fielding a chicken-shaped mech against our hero. New characters include the movie costumes for Ant-Man, Wasp/Hope Van Dyne and film antagonist Ghost; also included are franchise characters from the comics such as baddies Egghead, Human Fly, Crossfire and Scott’s grown-up daughter Cassie as Stinger.
Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp is showing on July 6. The themed DLC for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is about $2.99 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or part of the $14.99 Season Pass alongside earlier released DLCs, or free to download on the LMSH2 Deluxe Edition. LEGO sets for Ant-Man and the Wasp are available now.
