Way back in August, LEGO did one of its more epic advance teasing during the Designer Video for the micro-scale Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043). It was eventually confirmed that LEGO has just finished a micro-scale LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) as well, and even got to show off the official box in very close detail. But those weren’t official images of the micro-scaled set in a strict sense. Said official images however, are on their way. In fact some of them were caught early on the online image servers of LEGO Shop@Home thanks to some data digging by the French LEGO news source Hoth Bricks.
Shared by Hoth Bricks are the official front and back photos of the set box for LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289), as well as a shot of the actual set up close, with the included wand-maker Garick Ollivander on one side for a size comparison. Again we see the micro-scale detailing on some well-known Diagon Alley landmarks like Gringotts Bank and Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes.
With this recent discovery, we can assume that it’s just a matter of time before Shop@Home finally puts up a Diagon Alley (40289) listing. Maybe then LEGO and Potter fans will finally know how to get their hands on the set in the US and parts of Europe. LEGO China already has a gift with purchase deal for it, while a Certified LEGO Store in Slovenia has it for straight purchase price at around €40. We’ll just have to wait and see.
