Earlier this month, we shared the first details of a new wave of LEGO Minecraft sets due to be released this 2019, courtesy of a German-language source. That comprised only of European prices and descriptions, but no photos of what the sets look like. Well, we can wonder no more. Thanks to a Dutch LEGO news source, Bouwsteentjes, we now have images of the boxes and completed builds of the five 2019 LEGO Minecraft sets revealed to arrive next year. With three articulated brick-built Minecraft character figures and two action play-sets, there’s plenty to enjoy with this new product wave.
Buildable Steve with Parrot (21148)
Buildable Alex with Chicken (21149)
Buildable Skeleton with Magma Cube (21150)
The Last Battle (21151)
The Pirate Ship Adventure (21152)
They’re all reasonably priced sets and a splendid return by LEGO to one of their most popular licensed game franchises. We still have no word as to when these 2019 LEGO Minecraft sets will be made available to the public, but its most likely to be during the first quarter next year.
I really love the LEGO Minecraft sets and I am so happy that LEGO continue with it, but I am a bit sad that Minecraft seems to have lost its momentum (my boys and most of their friends only play Fortnight nowadays and not Minecraft anymore). Greetings from Spielentdecker.de in Germany.
Yeah, it seems to be the case. I’m not really sure if LEGO still has plans of adding additional sets beyond these new wave that was revealed. I have to agree that there are a lot of games now that seem to have overshadowed Minecraft in terms of popularity among younger kids. The most recent 2019 will be a deciding year for LEGO Minecraft so we just have to wait and see.
