ICYMI: New LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft Sets to be Released this April

Following the release of the new LEGO BrickHeadz Disney sets this March, it looks like fans of the BrickHeadz theme have more sets to expect this April. In case you missed it, LEGO.com has been updated to include three new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets that you can add to your collection.

This new wave of Minecraft-inspired BrickHeadz sets is quite overdue in my opinion. The last similar set that we have was way back in 2018 when we had our Steve and Creeper (41612) dual-pack. So it’s a very much welcomed decision from LEGO to now include not one, but three additional Minecraft characters added to the BrickHeadz roster. It’s also nice to see that we finally have a brick-built version of Alex to complement our early version of Steve, plus a very colorful Llama as well. LEGO also seems to give this Minecraft Llama a very distinguished place in the collection considering that this is the 200th character given the BrickHeadz treatment. I do hope that it comes with a special commemorative brick or something.

Check out the official images of these new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets, together with their respective product descriptions. Each of these will retail for $10 and will be available in all LEGO Stores and online starting April 1, 2023.

Alex (40624)

86 pieces | $9.99

New LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft

Here’s a hands-on treat for players of the Minecraft® video game aged 10 and up. LEGO® BrickHeadz™ Alex (40624) presents one of the game’s most popular characters in collectible BrickHeadz form. Perfect for play and display, the figure includes authentic Minecraft details, such as the hero’s diamond pickaxe. Standing over 3 in. (8 cm) tall, this BrickHeadz recreation of the iconic character will look great in any kid’s room.

Llama (40625)

100 pieces | $9.99

New LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft

Minecraft® players will be very familiar with the game’s cute llama mobs. LEGO® BrickHeadz™ Llama (40625) lets kids put the popular character on display for all to admire. The buildable BrickHeadz figure stands over 3 in. (8 cm) tall and includes a baseplate stand, making it perfect for hands-on play and putting on show in any kid’s room.

Zombie (40626)

81 pieces | $9.99

New LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft

Zombies are the iconic hostile mobs from the Minecraft® video game. And now, Minecraft players aged 10 and up can build their own LEGO® BrickHeadz™ Zombie (40626). The authentically detailed figure stands over 3 in. (8 cm) tall and features a baseplate stand, making it perfect for hands-on play as well as putting on show for all to admire.

7 New 2023 LEGO Minecraft Sets Officialy Revealed

LEGO Minecraft fans will surely love this next piece of news. Because in case you missed it, LEGO.com has officially revealed its line-up of new 2023 LEGO Minecraft sets, scheduled to arrive online and in-store in January next year, alongside other licensed themes to be released at the sound of the first bell of 2023.

Personally, I’m glad to see that these new seven 2023 LEGO Minecraft sets show LEGO’s effort to somewhat balance their pricing while leaving more room for playability and aesthetics. This is crucial in my opinion since Minecraft is mainly a world-building game catered to younger video game players. It’s nice to see that even more than a decade since Minecraft once introduced, LEGO is staying true to form with regard to these play features and design.

Take a look at the following images, and be sure to click on their respective affiliate links if you want to know more, or add these sets to your LEGO wishlist this 2023.

Architecture
Art
BrickHeadz
Disney
Duplo

Super Mario

All items above were featured by us here on The Brick Show. And there are still more LEGO sets coming out later this month. We’ll do further mini-recaps of these when the right time comes.

LEGO Con ’22 Poll for New “Minecraft” Minifig in 2023 Started

Never has a separate videogame franchise perhaps been so perfect a fit with LEGO than “Minecraft”. It started with a LEGO Ideas set, then it expanded into a full theme line. We’ve already gotten several new LEGO Minecraft sets this year, with more coming still. And the synergy goes both ways. Last year during the first LEGO Con, a poll was initiated for a new “Minecraft” character skin minifigure. From a choice between warrior, ranger, and ninja, a ninja minifig was voted, joining “Minecraft” sets this year. And this past LEGO Con 2022, another online poll for a new “Minecraft” character skin has just begun.

As told by Brickset, there will be a new “Minecraft” minifig character skin coming to the theme next year. Like before, it’ll be decided by an online poll on social media. Just after LEGO Con, the vote was started on LEGO’s official Twitter page. Where the 2021 poll for the 2022 skin offered three diverse options, this year we only have “knight” variants to choose from. Would you like a Classic Knight, Crystal Knight, or Prismarine Knight to be featured in LEGO Minecraft sets of 2023? You have until June 24 to make your choice.

More LEGO Minecraft 2022 Sets Unveiled at LEGO Con 2022

The LEGO Con 2022 reveal train has no brakes or something to that effect. We got plenty of neat set reveals on June 18. Among them were notable anniversary milestone entries. Earlier, we touched on two 90th-anniversary LEGO sets joining the Icons theme. But this year also marks a decade since LEGO Ideas released a set for the hit videogame franchise “Minecraft.” Collectors saw this one-off item birth a popular LEGO product line. And while some entries for the theme have already been released earlier this year, there are still more, particularly with the reveal of more LEGO Minecraft 2022 sets.

According to Brickset, two more LEGO Minecraft 2022 sets saw the light of day at LEGO Con last Saturday. These ones fill out the set number list we caught back in February. Get ready to expand the brick-built Minecraft world with the Skeleton Dungeon (21189) and The Abandoned Village (21190). As many of the LEGO Con reveals, they’ll arrive this August. Now let’s have a look at their product listing info:

More LEGO Minecraft 2022

The Skeleton Dungeon (21189)

Age 8+ | 364 pieces | 4 minifigures | $34.99 | Coming August 1

21189 1

  • Many ways to play – Kids can build, explore, battle and operate fun features as they embark on endless Minecraft® adventures, then rebuild the set for even more creative play

More LEGO Minecraft 2022

The Abandoned Village (21190)

Age 8+ | 422 pieces | 3 minifigures | $44.99 | Coming August 1

21190 1

  • Battle-and-build action for Minecraft® players – Kids need all their Minecraft know-how as they reclaim and rebuild a creepy zombie village with the LEGO® Minecraft The Abandoned Village (21190) set
  • 4-part playset – Includes 2 zombies and a zombie hunter, a zombie hunter’s campsite, zombie villager’s workplace, zombie farmer’s pumpkin patch, an abandoned house and lots of authentic accessories
  • Endless creative play – Players must reclaim a creepy village from zombies, then rebuild it in their personal style, ready for more Minecraft® adventures

Other LEGO Minecraft sets in this batch have already been launched earlier. The Bakery (21184), The Nether Bastion (21185), The Ice Castle (21186), The Red Barn (21187), and The Llama Village (21188) are available at LEGO.com.

Rumor: 7 LEGO Minecraft Sets Coming Summer 2022

LEGO Minecraft proves itself to be one of the busiest licensed-IP themes in the LEGO catalog. This past New Year’s Day we welcomed no less than six new sets in the line. There’s nothing quite like more LEGO Minecraft to expand your brick-built “Minecraft” world. But is that all that the theme’s getting for the year 2022? Of course not; but what else will be coming? Well, Brick Fanatics reports that a US online toy retailer has new LEGO set numbers listed. They’re unnamed, but have retail prices and indicators that they’re for LEGO Minecraft.

It seems that Eugene Toy & Hobby had, for a time, listed seven LEGO set numbers for new “Minecraft” stuff. We checked their website ourselves and they’re not there anymore. But if Brick Fanatics spotted them then we can at least mark this down as a rumor. We thus have the following bare-bones details on the alleged upcoming LEGO Minecraft sets. These are supposed to launch this summer of 2022:

  • 21184 – $24.99
  • 21185 – $34.99
  • 21186 – $49.99
  • 21187 – $99.99
  • 21188 – $129.99
  • 21189 – $34.99
  • 21190 – $39.99

As can be seen, the first set number follows immediately from The Training Yard (21183), released on January 1. We’ve also got a nice price spread with one “big” set worth 3 digits. All told, this supposed summer 2022 LEGO Minecraft set blitz is shaping up nicely. Of course, we remind readers that we consider this info as rumor until more details appear, preferably from LEGO.

“Brickcraft”: Cool Resource Pack Gives “Minecraft” Blocks a LEGO-Brick Makeover

Back in 2012, LEGO Ideas (Cuusoo back then) released their third set, based on surprise videogame hit “Minecraft.” This would lead to a full-on LEGO licensed-IP theme line that still gets new sets to this year. That much was expected considering the source franchise. Since its official release in 2011 (classic version 2009), “Minecraft” has built a solid player base. The fact that it went multiple platforms helped a lot too. And the simple yet robust construction mechanics made it a perfect fit with the LEGO system when translated to sets. But what do you think of the LEGO aesthetics getting translated into the games?

Brickcraft | Turn your world into Bricks in Minecraft! from lego

Now this is an unofficial thing, being a game mod and all. But as Game Rant tells it, a “Minecraft” player is working on a resource pack called “Brickcraft.” This mod transforms the blocks that all materials in the “Minecraft” world look like, into 4×4 LEGO bricks. For all intents and purposes, it makes the game world akin to a brick-built environment. The user AlexTestria has been working on this mod for five months already. He uploaded a sample video of the newest revisions in action on TikTok then shared the preview on LEGO subreddit.

From what we can see in the sample footage, “Brickcraft” appears like Mojang and WB-Interactive’s TT Games have teamed up. Seeing the “Minecraft” blocks as LEGO bricks (above and below) is mind-blowing, and a testament to AlexTestria’s team’s efforts. Interested players may download the “Brickcraft” resource pack on the creator’s Patreon page. The mod’s latest version 1.3 (low-quality) is available for free. But for a $2.56/€2 Patreon donation, he’ll provide the higher-quality editions. Apparently this pack is for PC version.

2022 LEGO Minecraft Sets Now Listed

Way back in September, we picked up rumors of new sets for LEGO Minecraft coming next year. This is notable considering that 2022 is 10 years after the release of the first Minecraft set from LEGO Ideas. From Ideas’ Minecraft Micro World (21102) arose one of LEGO’s most popular licensed-IP themes. It thus feels fitting to have an anniversary milestone, or so the six rumored upcoming LEGO Minecraft sets indicate. Some of the set names even hint at creatures from the original games yet to be depicted in brick-built form. Now we get to see them following their LEGO.com listing.

According to The Brick Fan, one of these now-confirmed sets also includes a fan vote-winning entry. This was from LEGO Con 2021, regarding a new skin for the blocky LEGO Minecraft minfigures. In this case, a Minecraft Ninja won out. Let’s take a look at him and the newly-unveiled sets:
