LEGO has officially announced the character names of its latest LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20 (71027), via its social media channels. If you recall, LEGO gave us a glimpse of what to expect from Series 20 during this year’s New York Toy Fair, while third-party retailers gave us a closer look at what to expect from this latest CMF line. Check out LEGO’s announcement via its Facebook page.
Additionally, reviews about the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20 are starting to pour in showing us what to expect from each box, and how many of each minifig character can we expect from it. If you want to have an in-depth look at what this latest series has to offer, then you may want to refer to The Brothers Brick’s review.
Overall, there are 16 characters to collect for Series 20 with a total of 60 blind bags in a box with 3 to 5 copies of each character. Here’s a quick rundown of how this 10th-year commemorative CMF series is distributed.
As noted by TBB, the box distribution for LEGO CMF Series 20 (71027) is similar to what LEGO did with the LEGO Collectible Minifigures DC Superheroes (71026). So eventually, we can get three complete sets of Series 20 minifigures in a box of 60 blind bags, with several minifigs to spare or resell.
It also turns out that we can expect this series to arrive earlier than what I previously reported. The LEGO CMF Series 20 is slated to arrive on April 19, 2020, though it is still be seen whether LEGO brand stores will already be open by then considering The LEGO Group’s most recent announcement regarding its store closures due to COVID-19. Whatever is the case, we can still hopefully rely on LEGO Shop@Home for our purchases.
