Here’s a Glimpse of the New LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75290)

LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina

Here’s another surprising reveal. According to a report published by fellow LEGO fansite StoneWars, it looks like we will be having another LEGO Star Wars set that you’ll most likely add to your collection. The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75290) is by far the largest LEGO rendition of this infamous hangout in Star Wars lore, and we now have our first glimpse of what this upcoming set has to offer.

The surprising news of the new Cantina came from an unlikely source – from the LEGO South Korea Facebook page as you can see from the promotional flyer below. The post has been taken down already so it’s most likely that someone from LEGO South Korea’s social media team was a bit too excited to press that share button ahead of the set’s embargo.

This is not the most ideal image that we want to see from this set but still, we can somehow figure out what we can expect from it. This LEGO Star Wars 18+ set comes in at 3,187 pieces and is expected to retail for 349.99 Euros once it is released on September 16. It consists of several builds that make the Cantina one of the most memorable hangouts on this side of the galaxy. We can see a V-35 Courier and Ubrikkian 9000 Landspeeders, Chalmun’s Spaceport, a re-release of a Dewback figure, and take note of this – an impressive collection of 21 minifigure characters:

  • Luke Skywalker
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Han Solo
  • Chewbacca
  • C-3PO
  • R2-D2
  • Imperial Sandtroopers (x2)
  • Garindan
  • Wuher
  • Greedo
  • Ponda Baba
  • Cornelius Evazan
  • Figrin Dan and the Modal Nodes (x3)
  • Momaw Nadon
  • Kabe
  • Kardue’sai’Malloc
  • An Unidentified Cantina Patron
  • Jawa

Though this is not the first time that LEGO had released a buildable version of the Mos Eisley Cantina (this is the LEGO’s 4th version by the way), this is certainly the largest of its kind as of to date. The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75290) also shares some brick DNA with 2018’s Betrayal at Cloud City (75222) previously packaged under the Master Builders subtheme. Though there were mixed reactions from LEGO fans about this set, the latest revelation about the Cantina’s return which is intended for 18+ builders and the more discerning LEGO collector, is in fact, a welcomed development.

Since the reported release of Cantina is scheduled for September 16, we will be on the lookout for its official announcement that may happen anytime soon. Are you excited about the LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75290)? What do you think makes this set a must-have? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Thanks again for StoneWars and LEGO fan Dylan Chow for sharing this news.
