In case you missed it, LEGO has uploaded a designer video for its latest LEGO Ideas set, the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324). LEGO Designer Ollie Gregory, together with Sam Johnson, LEGO Creative Lead, and LEGO Graphic Designer Crystal Fontan gives us a tour in this official LEGO version of the iconic New York apartment building in 123 Sesame Street. Watch this.
This set gives tribute to the classic US children’s television show that started it all. It features a ton of references that adult fans of the show will surely catch. We have Big Bird’s Nest, Abby Cadabby’s Garden, Elmo’s Bedroom, Bert and Ernie’s Bedroom, Cookie Monster’s Monsterpiece Theater, and Mr. Hooper’s Store among many others. There’s also an easter egg reference hidden in Elmo’s room that shows a micro build replica of the LEGO Thatcher Perkins Locomotive (396) released in 1976.
Seldom does a new LEGO Ideas set get’s the green light in having new LEGO pieces, and the 123 Sesame Street (21324) is an exception. All five main minifigures in this set are made from new LEGO elements, such as the minifig heads for Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Elmo.
New printed elements also include the famous Sesame Street sign, a printed 1×2 brick with the 123 address of the building, a clear minifigure head for Dorothy’s goldfish bowl, a printed ball element for Oscar the Grouch, and a printed heart element for his pet Slimy. There’s also a total of 22 stickers in this set, among which includes a pretty neat homage to Ivan Guerrero, the LEGO fan designer behind this set. This particular sticker is found in Elmo’s room, featuring a letter written by Elmo to his friend Ivan.

The LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324) is currently available at LEGO Shop@Home and your nearest LEGO brand store retailing for $120.
