For March 1, as we’ve just gone through earlier, only one LEGO Marvel set launched this Tuesday. It’s understandable though; the next MCU film isn’t until later in May. Furthermore, production and release delays have sort of thrown off the sync of movie premieres and tie-in merchandise launches. That would explain why the next LEGO Marvel set we know, The Boat Goat (76208), is coming in late April. As you know, it ties into “Thor: Love and Thunder” which premieres in July. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” comes before it (the May release). Also, The Goat Boat isn’t the only “Thor: L&T” set.
We’ve learned from Stone Wars that there’s another LEGO Marvel “Thor: Love and Thunder” tie-in coming out soon. It’s supposed to launch at the same time as The Goat Boat (76208). But again, a store jumped the gun and put it on their shelves. And not just any outlet; it’s the LEGO Store attached to Istanbul Airport in Turkey. This was spotted by Instagram user the.brick.wolf, as early as last week Friday, February 25. So here we have it: the set called “Attack on New Asgard” (76207) which features a buildable giant monster and minifigures.
As with Goat Boat, this LEGO Marvel set illustrates the main plot draw of “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), love interest of Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), gains his power as God of Thunder. This did happen for a time at Marvel Comics. It also foreshadows the return of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, destroyed in “Thor: Ragnarok” and “time-borrowed” during “Avengers: Endgame.” Mjolnir is now used by Jane/Mighty Thor while Thor retains the Stormbreaker axe. The sets also feature main villain Gorr the God-Butcher. Expect LEGO Marvel 76207 and 76208 to officially launch on April 26.
