It was promised by LEGO, ever since the days before the start of the New York Toy Fair in February. A new variant of minifigures based on Cartoon Network’s iconic team of super-powered preschoolers, The Powerpuff Girls, was to be released in August. Now, we get our first good look.
It was sure nice of LEGO to post images of their new Powerpuff Girls minifigure sets on their official Facebook page, as the photos happen to show the characters and their settings in action. As previewed before, the character minifigures seem most adapted to how they looked like in the long-cancelled online game LEGO Dimensions.
Thus far, two sets of LEGO Powerpuff Girls have been identified from the photos: Bubbles’ Playground Showdown (41287) and Mojo Jojo Strikes (41288), and they look like they’re going to be action-oriented with plenty props.
Bubbles’ Playground Showdown (41287)

Mojo Jojo Strikes (41288)
