LEGO Marvel Superheroes Infinity War The Death of Loki (76110) Set Description Leaked!

This piece of news came in totally unexpected. We’re now just counting the days before MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27, and with a slew of LEGO Superheroes Infinity War sets now available, the impression is that LEGO has already revealed everything that is has to offer. However, as it turned out, LEGO is still keeping something under its sleeve. From the same anonymous and reliable source that provided us with the Russian set descriptions of the LEGO Infinity War sets last November, we now have new information that shows another particular set with a lot of spoiler warnings attached to it.

The set in question has been translated roughly from Russian so as to say The Death of Loki (76110). Now that is one heck of a spoiler. According to a rough Google Translation, the set description are as follows:

Send the Hulk back into Earth using the Space Stone and alert the rest of the Avengers! Stand your ground against the Black Order and protect the Space Stone at all cost.

Have Proxima Midnight’s Supernova Spear ready for execution of the Prince of Mischief, while Odin receives his wayward son at Valhalla. What lies ahead for Loki against the might of the Black Order? His fate is for you to decide.

The set comes with the minifigures of Loki, Odin, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian. Get this set and gather Thanos’ infamous Black Order.

Now if this is indeed confirmed, then this is one awesome set where you can get all the members of the Black Order in just one swoop. This move is unprecedented as far as LEGO is concerned, and it looks like the company’s top brass are being overly generous in offering this one. Traditionally, LEGO has opted to distribute its licensed characters across a good deal of sets in order to entice buyers to purchase almost an entire theme. But with the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Infinity War The Death of Loki (76110) set, you can easily have the entire Black Order gang, plus, a never-before-seen Odin minifigure which I suspect will be on a high demand among collectors.

Other than the huge number of collectible minifigures that goes along with this set, it seems that this latest LEGO offering is also hinting on the possible death of MCU’s most loved villain. If the Google Translation will be accepted for what it is, then we can expect that we are now seeing the last days of Loki as an MCU character.

According to our source who managed to take a peek the back of the box art as well, there is another surprising piece of info that LEGO was keeping under the lid as far as The Death of Loki (76110) has revealed – the set in itself can be combined with another yet to be disclosed set which is peculiarly among all things, entitled, Faking the Death of Loki (70401) which is a reference to that dramatic scene in Thor: Ragnarok where Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth played the theatrical roles of Loki and Thor respectively. For what it looks like, the combined sets which features two different versions of Loki, will give a sort of a tribute to the significant contributions of Asgard’s Prince of Trickery in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As a last note, our LEGO insider also mentions that because of certain plot points, major spoiler alerts, and the possibility of a very real lawsuit from Disney if these sets go on shelves before the expected date of the film’s release in April, The Death of Loki (76110) set will be released exactly a year from now which is on April 1, 2019.

Well, anything can happen between then and now… but for the meantime, let’s just enjoy a  wonderful Easter Sunday, and an awesome April 1st.  😉

  1. Thank you for doing absolutely nothing to hide the name of the set in your header so that it was impossible to avoid the spoiler.
