So, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is due to premiere next week (stateside, as some other territories already have it showing). At the same time, LEGO’s various tie-ins to the movie are gradually easing their way into store shelves, alongside sets associated with the movie’s (and the franchise’s) progenitor: Jurassic Park.
It just so happens that this year is the 25th anniversary of that pioneering film directed by Steven Spielberg, explaining the new Jurassic World-inspired LEGO sets coming out. More are expected, such as this set teased by LEGO that calls to mind the climactic scene from the ending stretch of the first film.
If you need a refresher, this is when the surviving people on Jurassic Park are stuck in the Visitors Center surrounded by the raptors, only for the T-Rex to arrive, killing the hunters and roaring gloriously while a banner falls in front of it. This greetings from LEGO spells it out quite well.
Rumors lave long abound that there will eventually be a Jurassic Park Visitors Center set put out by LEGO. And while we can speculate about the possibility of seeing this set happen, we don’t know yet if it’s only an interior action set-piece or a whole Visitor Center building teased.
While we wait for this previewed set, and for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s US premiere, one LEGO Jurassic Park set for its 25th Anniversary has already been officially released, and it’s the one with the raptors in pursuit. The LEGO Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase (75932) is out now for fandom collectors.
Thanks to The Brick Fan for the heads up.
