It has been officially announced a few days ago that LEGO will once more offer sets around the Jurassic World theme, as a tie-in with the film’s sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom set to be released in theaters in June of 2018. LEGO Jurassic World sets have proven to be popular among LEGO fans with a total of six sets released back in 2015. The LEGO Jurassic World sets introduced us to several dinos in their big fig forms like that of the T-Rex in the T-Rex Tracker (75918) and the fearsome Indominus in the Indominus Rex Breakout (75918).
So before we play the guessing game of trying to determine which LEGO sets will make it to the roster of the Fallen Kingdom subtheme, Twitter user Mega Power Brasil was at the Brand Licensing Expo in London earlier this week and was able to snap a photo of Fallen Kingdom’s latest promotional banner.
It is interesting to note that the banner features the awesome T-Rex and the film’s protagonist, Owen (played by Chris Pratt), alongside Blue – the velociraptor pack leader of the first Jurassic World film. Frankly speaking, the newest banner doesn’t say much about the movie’s overall story plot, but the presence of the mighty T-Rex and the highly intelligent raptor seems to suggest that we’ll be seeing them again in their LEGO forms. The last time that we have Blue as a LEGO bigfig is in Raptor Rampage (75917), and seeing him again making a comeback in Forbidden Kingdom could mean that we’ll be seeing him again in future LEGO sets.
It is also interesting to note that Brickset has already updated their database to include several placeholders for LEGO Jurassic World: Forbidden Kingdom sets (75926, 75927, 75928, 75929, and 75930) including those from the Duplo (10879, and 10880) and Junior (10756, 10757, and 10758) lines. We can only speculate at this point what these sets could be, considering that the film’s story line is still kept under wraps, and that LEGO will officially announce them come April of 2018.
