Next “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2” DLC: Teen Heroes “The Champions”

It’s been close to two months since its release in November 2017, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 just continues to go strong, with the help of its regular infusions of downloadable content (DLC) to further freshen up the base gameplay experience and introduce more characters from Marvel media, comic books or films.

Our last coverage of LMSH2 DLC involves some of Marvel’s space-setting superheroes, The Guardians of the Galaxy as seen in their popular renditions from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The team of Star-Lord and friends (already present in the base game) got alternate movie-version costumes and even an additional game level.

But the comic-book side of Marvel isn’t to be neglected; it was the original medium for Marvel Entertainment after all. So the next DLC batch for LMSH2 will be centered on The Champions, a team of teenaged superheroes who debuted in the 2016 Marvel NOW branding, after Civil War II.

A press release from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has it that the Champions DLC will include the characters of Amadeus Cho (Hulk version), the current Nova, Sam Alexander; Riri Williams, inventor of her own Ironheart armor and reluctant protégée of an inactive Tony Stark/Iron Man; Kate Bishop, the “other/female” Hawkeye; Viv Vision, sythezoid daughter of the Vision; Nadia Pym, the “other” Wasp and daughter of Hank Pym/Ant-Man; Inhuman genius Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl and her companion Devil Dinosaur.

This core group of young heroes assembled following a period of general distrust of the public against the older, more established superheroes. That’s not to say they had a comfortable run with it in their titled comic book series, but let’s not spoil details any further. The Champions DLC pack is available for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and can be preordered now from Amazon.
