A Peek at the LEGO Creator Expert Ford Mustang GT (10265)

A couple of days ago, LEGO made quite a stir when it updated its themes page at the LEGO.com portal. The matter has been ‘corrected’ already as of this posting, but not without eagle-eyed brick scouts taking a snapshot of this exciting and unintentional reveal. 2018 saw its last LEGO Creator Expert set in the form of the Corner Garage (10264), and this time around thanks to a quick print screen command from Promobricks, we now have a peek at the LEGO Creator Expert Ford Mustang GT (10265).

This set has been rumored since August last year, with more LEGO Creator Expert sets being readied in the LEGO pipeline. In fact, Brickset has already listed another D2C vehicle set (10269) together with this year’s Winter Village set (10267), in their database so these are exciting sets to watch out for as well. The LEGO Creator Expert Ford Mustang GT (10265) comes in 1,471 pieces and is expected to be released in March 1, with an estimated price point of 139.99 Euros. It is based on one of Ford’s most popular muscle cars which was introduced in 1967. It is also nice of LEGO to make it clearly known by adding a special tile that indicates GT 1967 in its next Creator Expert set.

Given the legacy and remarkable history of this vehicle, I will not be surprised if this next Creator Expert set will be popular among fans. To be frank, it’s a great comeback for LEGO after the not-so-warm reception given to the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (10262) set. LEGO has not confirmed the LEGO Creator Expert Ford Mustang GT (10265) as of this posting, and it looks like it plans not to do so yet considering the fact that it immediately removed its image from the themes page and replaced it with the currently offered Aston Martin DB5 (10262). If the rumors of a March release holds true, then we can expect an early VIP release sometime towards the end of this month, and an official statement from LEGO as well.

Personally, I’m excited about this set being a fan of iconic muscle cars from the 60s. What do you think?

  1. 139 Euro for set 10265!!! That’s $207 in Canadian dollars! Bit much – its a great set but at that price, I will pass.
